View 4 RepliesI'm struggling with a configuration issue on the Cisco SG200-08P. We are using the Cisco SG200-08P on a mobile cart that will go from class room to class room that will have computer and cisco Voip phone plugged into it. The issue is that each of our closets are in differnt VLANS ( 1 voice and 1 data....lets say data vlan 20 and voice vlan 2025 for conversation) and that we route to each closet.It would be great if I could just create a generic data and voice vlan to dynamically pick up what the upstream switch has however, it seems that I've been unsuccessful in doing so. I can pass the data Vlan no probablem. The upstream switch port is set to access port and a switch port access voice vlan (these are 3750x switches) If the above is not possible I guess I will take what I can get. Should I just create data vlan 20 and voice vlan2025 on the Cisco SG200-08P and make a trunk port on the Cisco SG200-08P and a trunk on the 3750x? Is there an option on the Cisco SG200-08P to tag voice traffic?I'm also concerned with VTP and I did not see an area in the Cisco SG200-08P to set that as a client and transparent mode.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to know about EHWIC 8-Port configuration? We create Data and Voice VLANs and assign 8 ports to the VLANs. So how do VLANS communicate with each other? We cannot make Gi0/1 as sub interfaces and assign the same subnet IP’s as of VLAN IP’s , it wont accept. On 1921 router Assume Gi0/0 we connect to MPLS WAN. What happens to Gi0/1 where do we connect this?
View 1 Replies View Relatedim working in a new enviroment and want to makes some design changes to the environment. I wanted to bounce my ideas some of you folks to see if my thinking is on the right path or maybe i could do things better.
Setup:
Currently the setup that i manage includes and Sonic Wall (also dishes out dhcp), HP 1810 "Core Switch" and 3 SG 300-28P cisco managed switches. (all cisco switches tie back into the HP) The router is managed by the isp. There is only one vlan with all traffic going across it.
Obviously the glaring issue here is that voice and data all reside on the same vlan. Correct me if i am thinking incorrectly but the first step would be to create a separate vlan for the phones with its own IP scheme. currently phones are issued addresses from the 150-200 range and everything else is left for pc's, printers etc. To my knowledge the HP switch does layer 3 but i do not know much about it. There are vpn tunnels to remote offices that are used for sharepoint, email and to access other services. Trying to wrap my mind around the environment as a whole so i may be missing something obvious i could do design wise to improve.

We want to use a Cisco 861 Ethernet router to link our LAN's data and voice segments together (each on separate switches). Our switches are not Layer3 so routing over them is not an option. We only use the default VLAN1 on both switches.There is a data segment 192.168.1.0/24 and a voice segment 192.168.150.0/24, each with it's own internet/WAN access (internet for the data lan and SIP provider for the voice lan).

This is want i want to achieve:
- Link the data and voice switches using the 861
- I want to make the Cisco 861 the default gw on both segments, but they should only route traffic destined for the other segment to each other and route all other traffic to their segment's designated internet connection. I don't want the Cisco to do any NATting and there's no need for firewalling either.
We recently extended our access layer using a pair of 5ks with extenders. We have a pair of 6509s at our core and they handle the intra-VLAN routing with SVIs. I recently noticed that access hosts connected to the extenders cannot pass traffic between each other if they are in different VLANs. The strange thing is these same hosts can ping devices in other VLANs as long as the other devices are not connected to the 5k environment.
For example, consider the following hosts. Each host has their gateway set to the appropriate SVI on our core.
HostA - VLAN100 - connected to 5k extender
HostB - VLAN200 - connected to 5k extender
HostC - VLAN100 - connected to 2960 off our core
HostD - VLAN200 - connected to 2960 off our core
Each host can ping each other with the exception of HostA and HostB. As for specifics, we use HSRP (no VSS) between our cores.
When I ping between hostA and hostB, I see the egress packets on either 5k1 or 5k2. I then see ingress AND egress on Core1. There are no ingress packets on 5k1 or 5k2.The egress packets from Core1 show the correct destination MAC address of the target host. The mac address table shows the mac address on po31.
We want to get L2 traffic amount (bit/byte) passing through a cisco switch (6500/3560 ...) for a specific VLAN. it can be via SNMP or CLI ...How can we do that?
note: there is no L3 interface on swtiches.
I'm planning to separate voice and data traffic with two vlans. I have a COR switch catalyst 3750, a UC560 for VOIP with SIP trunk and SGE2000P as access switches. The thing is i had configured VLAN1 (data vlan) and VLAN8 (voice vlan), i've created the vlan 8 in the database on 3750 and let pass those vlans through a TRUNK port. In the SGE2000P configuration i've created the VLAN8 and the the ports as trunk for letting pass the two vlans for the PC and the IP phone. This works but some phones aren't registering, and for example i've unplugged a register phone and plug and doesn't registering anymore.

I want to prioritize egress voice traffic across a trunk terminated on an F1 module, N7K-F132XP-15. I am unsure about the setup; according to the "show interface capabilities" F1 interfaces support 8 egress queues, while the Nexus QoS documentation provides configuration referencing 4 queues. In addition, I am not clear about the relevance of network-qos on F1 queueing setup.

I have a Nexus 5500 which is the core of our network and we have access layer switches uplinked to it. I know by default the qos markings will be trusted.
1. On a trunk uplink from an access layer switch to the Nexus, I have "mls qos trust dscp". Will the DSCP marking be preserved when it reaches the Nexus?
2. How do I do prioritization of voice traffic on an uplink on Nexus based on DSCP EF?
How can I collect the data about the traffic on my Cisco 2960S? Have I use only the snmp? Any workaround for simulate a netflow? The IOS c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-1.SE2.bin.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a Control network that can not have access to the Internet, or any other network for that matter, to my Admin network so that I can retrieve trend data about the plant that goes into a database. Right now the process is print information, hand jam into excel spreadsheet, print again, and hand jam into another excel spreadsheet on the other network. Reports are printed automatically once a day, but would like a simplified way of getting data from one network to the other without having to re-enter data several times. Current policies stipulate no USB drives connected to Control systems. Even if we could loosen that, personnel needed to transfer data is not available and going to each individual machine would take more time than current system.Now that background is laid, I have two 2911 ISR routers with EIGRP configured, each with a 4 port EHWIC card. The 3 L3 ports on the router are setup as follows: interface G0/1 to the internet, interface G0/2 to a wireless back haul, and interface G0/0 for IT network. I then have 3 VLANs setup on the EHWICs for our Admin network. We will move the IT network to a VLAN on the remaining EHWIC port and connect the two 2911's through the G0/0 interface. I am going to have one computer on my Administration network dedicated to receiving the information and have a program that will take that data and import it to a database. I need to allow only that computer to receive traffic from the Control network and I need no traffic to flow back into the Control network. In other words I will transmit data from the control network to the admin computer using one protocol (TFTP more than likely) and block any other traffic coming out of and going into the Control network.

I am having problem setting up SGE2000P switches to work with my default data VLAN and additional voice VLAN. I am configuring it to pick IP address for phones from voice VLAN which is working fine but when I connect a PC on phone port it is also picking up an IP from Voice VLAN while default VLAN is data with different scope of IP.
I pack these switches and purchase ESW 500 series. I have ESW 500 at another client and they are working fine out of the box but this guy is giving me hard time.

The problem is that the one server I mentioned has SQL on it and we have applications that were devloped in house ages ago that hit that SQL instance. Those applications are hard coded to the IP address of that server. We could just change it in the code, but the source code for one of the applications have disappeared over time. Now that you know my situation, my question is this. Can I make a NAT rule or something that says when traffic is destined for xxx.xxx.xxx.123, to re-routes it to xxx.xxx.xxx.321? Currently our endpoint device here is a Cisco UC520. The other end we have no control over.

Everything is working but i m not sure if the switchport config is right in that way.
As an example :

When we connect an Cisco 7971g and an pc everything is working fine. But when i start wireshark on the pc behind the phone you see a lot of UDP Traffic source UC520 destination 239.10.16.8 or 239.10.16.16. At this point i m getting confused. So i start looking for the cisco phone config, VLAN ID on the phone is 100 (i think that is ok) but the PC-VLAN part is empty?
The main thing is, how can i stop this cisco-sccp traffic on the pc port (prtg shows me a average of 200 kbit/s) i think it is an config fault.
Is it possible to configure LACP etherchannel to a Catalyst 3750? Playing around with the SMB switches for the first time.
I know how to do it on the 3750 but am having trouble figuring out the sge2000p.
I am trying to get a C2960-8tc-L linked to a sge2000p via the Gbic ports using GLC-SX_MM gbics but having no luck.Are these compatible and should I need to configure anything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a 1841 router with AdvSec 12.4(24)T4 IOS on it. I used to have a working SSL tunnel configuration working, but for some reason it had disappeared and I am rebuilding the configuration. Unfortunately, I have been able to configure the router to perform the SSL tunnel, but I am not able to pass any data through the VPN. I am only able to ping the inside interface of the router and this is it. If I try to extended PING from the router to the remote PC I am able to get replies. Trying to PING anything on the remote network does not provide any responses back. I am thinking there is some sort of routing not happening here or I am missing some sort of configuration to allow the VPN to pass data through correctly. [code]

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust setup two WAP200E's, the bridge is "Connected" as I look Status > System Performance in both WAP's. However, I cannot get to the LAN from one network to the next. Cannot even ping the WAP's from either side.
I already have two WAP200E's on this network, that have been working well for month (164 day uptime), and they are configured with a wireless bridge between them, both networks on the same LAN (same 192.168.2.x network on either side). The bridge names are different, different from the main WiFi in the building, too (if it makes a difference), and the static IPs the WAPs have don't appear to have any conflicts on the network.
This is actually three buildings, one is the main one with a Cisco SR520 for a router, and a Cisco SF 200-24P switch. So two WAP200E's go into this switch now, and I see them both fine when going into the management interface. Then each of the other buildings has one WAP200E, and a small Netgear 8 port PoE gigabit switch at each building to power the WAP.
The Netgear switches aren't managed, and I've made sure any features like STP, VLANs, etc. are turned off. And the Cisco SF 200 switch is set at auto and all the defaults mostly, particularly for the ports. I tried doing a SmartPort for this latest WAP200E and that didn't change anything, tried disabling STP for it too, and no change. The PoE port for the working WAP200E is identical in config to the PoE port for the new WAP200E, and both show forwarding, all VLANs admitted (none are enabled, no VLAN tagging, etc.).
So now I am wondering if I can have two WAP200E's into one switch? Or two bridges on the same LAN subnet? Or is there something else I am missing or should configure?
Since CIPC is isntalled in the PC, and PC definitely getting an IP address from the data IP network segment instead of the voice IP network segment, so how to gurantee the following? 1. How the CIPC registered to the CME/CUCM 2. How to gurantee the QoS for the CIPC's voice traffic since the source IP address of the CIPC is belong to the IP network segment?

The network in effect has six 3745 in a hybrid topology at different locations and each having three WIC-2T, one WIC-4T, three NMHDV-2E1. That's pretty much juicing out the maximum from these routers These will serve as my core routers and for access I will be using my 2811s with more VWICs and lesser WIC-2T to give voice and data to subscribers. The 2811s will have links to multiple 3745s. The NMHDV-2E1 will serve for the voice needs at the 3745 locations. All the WAN links will be E1. All my telephones will be on analog voice using traditional EPABX with CEPT/ PRI E1 cards for connecting to the routers. And for data, ethernet ports.Two of the routers will have E1 links to the PSTN and Internet which has to be extended to all my folks. Now, for the tricky part, all my network modules are refurbished stuff from ebay and all the ports will have links on them. I intend to use OSPF with only the backbone area.

Can I have two Outside Interfaces that one will apply to a pppoe client group and the other will apply to a static IP? Is this possible and if so What would be the steps on applying this connection? Also to note I have a point to point connection already established for the pppoe. I also have another point to point connection for data, but however I do not know how to apply this to the firewall.

One department has recently employed more people so we have an SG200 switch to connect the computers and phones to. I don't seem to be able to get any connectivity between the new switch and the SG300 it is connecting to. I have setup VLAN1 and 10 as per the images below:
