I have ACS1121 running version 5.1.0.44.6 on my network environement , I need to enable account lock-out for internal user during failed attempt for more than 8 times , How to achieve this . I could see account lock-out for administrator user account , not for internal user .
View 2 RepliesCurrently on 5.3.0.40.2 when a invalid password is attempted via TACACS or RADIUS to the AD identity store is locks the account out on the first failed attempt. The AD policy is lockout after three attempts. Is there a way to fix this issue so the account is not locked out with only one failed attempt? I see options for local password policys in ACS but nothing for the identity store. For what its worth this happened also with ACS 4.X deployment before we moved to ACS 5.3.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have setup ACS 5.2 in my lab and have it completely funcation with Downloadable ACLs, Dynamic VLANs and the identity store on the backend is Active Directory. I need it to lock a user account in AD if there are to many auth attempts. I have gone into AD and set a max login attempts to 3 but if I continue to fail authentication (on purpose) using radius auth, it never locks out my AD account? I am using the Anyconnect 3.0 with NAM as the supplicant installed on my workstation. I have also configured the switchport that I am connect to with the following commands. I tried the dot1x max-reauth-req 3 command and that didn't really do anything for me either. What am I missing here?

I updated my Mac to OSX 10.8 and now every time I try to login to my work network (a windows network) it locks my account. Each time, my sysadmin unlocks my account and I am able to successfully login one time but then, if I login again (after restart or sleep) I am locked out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue where a user will plug a PC into a switch. The switch does a MAB authenticaiton and the MAC is not located in the ACS server. It logs the failed attempt, but when the PC is removed from the switch, the failed attempts keep getting logged until the port is bounced. Any way to keep the attemps from happening after the PC is removed? If not, any way to make it stop without bouncing the port?

What I am confused is , It is an ISE as well as ACS and there is separate licensing for ISE (as base and advanced). What should i do , if i need to select SNS 3415 as ACS appliance ? is it built in or should i need to add anything extra ?

The AD client keeps dying on one of them, and even with the newest patch it's not up. Also, i want to monitor them up/down, CPU, memory... basic network monitoring to make sure my devices are healthy.

I have an issue with applying a patch to an ACS 1121 appliance running version 5.2.0.26. I have 5 units that needed updating and the first one is the unit with the problem. The subsequent ones updated with no issues.
When I do a show version the 5.2.0.26.10 does not show. When I try to do a reinstall I get back patch all ready exists. When I try to do an uninstall I get back patch does not exist.
Is there a command can wipe out patch 10, so I can start over? The CLI factory-reset only wipes the web configuration not the running-config or IOS.

We are currently evaluating a ACS 1121 running 5.2, we are trying to configure this to Authenticate eap-peap requests.
Our users will be using credentials in a username@example.com format, if the server sees a request using username@anotherrealm.com then it would forward the request to a external proxy radius server, if the server saw a request for our domain it would strip off the @example.com part and authenticate against AD.
Im finding it hard locating documentation to tell the server if a request comes from a NAS using username@example.com then strip @example.com and authenticate username against AD.
We have had an active ACS unit for many years now, and we've added a second one, both are 1121 Appliances. The newer one came with 5.4, so we upgraded the older one to 5.4.
We setup replication between the two, with the newer one primary and the older one secondary. Problem is, windows based clients are unable to authenticate to the older ACS appliance. The only problem we can see is that it indicates that adclient is not running, under Monitoring & Troubleshooting, ACS Health Instance Summary.
So... been trying to figure out how to correct this, yet have been hard pressed to find a knowledgebase article that works. So far, Cisco hasn't added my smartNet on the new box so I can get some support?
For quite some time now, we have been experiencing an issue with the Cisco VPN client that will make the client completely unusable. I have noticed that when a specific feature of Symantec Endpoint Protection is enabled, it will (about 25% of the time) cause the following errors to appear when attempting to connect anywhere with the Cisco VPN client. Once this error happens once, the VPN client then becomes useless.

I have setup an Identity Firewall on a ASA version 5.6 on a DMZ interface.I have installed the ADAgent on a domain member Win2008 and configured as follows: [code]
where ashdew is a domain user and ACL 122(only one line) is applied on the dmz interface and NAT is properly configured.The ADagent has been properly tested and ASA can register to it.The ASA can connect to AD DC controller and query user database.I have placed a laptop ip 172.17.h.x on the DMZ and can ping the DMZ interface.
The laptop cannot authenticate on the domain and the asa does not seem to retrieve the user identity.Do I need to add extra rules in the access-list 122 to permit trafic to DC?Can I check on the AD Agent if it can retrieve the user to ip mapping ?
I'm currently setting my ACS 5.x for oridinary person to disable account if password not changed for certain date, But some VIP accounts need to exclude from this condition?
