Cisco Application :: GSS 4492R Configuration With ACE4710?
Dec 8, 2010I have to deploy the Cisco GSS in our 2 dataceters globally seprate IP ranges to loadbalance the exchange 2010 environment with Cisco ACE 4710 series SLBs. The scenario is to deploy one GSS + ACE on each datacenters and our nameserver will point to both GSS's IP addresses to get through. Incase primary site "site A" goes down name server will point the client's request to "site B".
What will be the physical setup of the GSS here and what configuration should on SLB ACE will make it work? Do GSS and ACE need to be in the same vlan? is this necessary to use Both interface of the GSS to get things working? How the GSS will check the health check on ACE if they both are on different vlans/ip range? Our ACE will be in routed mode do we need to assign the Real server default gateway as ACE inside interface with the server farm or just do the SNAT of the client IPs so the request can come back to ACE?

I can verify this text: 4096 (high security, level 4) - For software release A2(2.4) and later in the ACE module and software release A3(2.6) and later in the ACE appliance, you can use 4096-bit SSL certificates in chaingroups and authgroups. You can also import public certificates and keys that are 4096 bits in length.
We intend to use a certificate (CA) with keys of 4096 bits and according to the text of wiki, it's possible.

Apr 15, 2013I'm using the Cisco ANM 5.2 version and I'm trying to import the configurations from ACE modules of Cisco switches. The first step is to import the configuration from Cisco switch and the second one is to import the ACE module in the ANM software. I'm getting an authentication problem to import the configuration from Cisco switch and of course I cannot import the ACE as well. The switches and the ACE are using AAA authentication and I have created a specific username to authenticate and import the configurations in the ANM. If I remove the AAA configurations from the switches and ACE modules it works fine.
Is there some problem with the AAA configurations in the switches or ACE module?
Cisco Application :: ACE 4710 - Configuring NTLM Authentication
Jun 10, 2012We are deploying a Microsoft Exchange 2010 server environment, which will have a ACE 4710 front end. What we are finding is that if a server goes down, a client will need to re-authenticate to a new server. The server team has informed me that if they use Microsoft SLB this does not happen. They have also mentioned that we are getting basic authentication, rather than NTLM. As a result I have read several posts/articles which mention forcing NTLM on the ACE, but none go into real detail.
A couple of official Cisco documents point to having the Exchange Server, and Client both set to use NTLM. So on the server you do not need to select MAPI encryption. I am told this is not an option here, because a multitude of clients are supported, from Outlook 2003, through to 2010.

Currently i have a Cisco SRP547W which works fine when we're all wired in, however we have connection issues when trying to access the server over Wi-Fi. I'm lead to believe that this could be a result of the lack of support for Bonjour within the router. What might be a solid alternative?

Feb 5, 2012If one has internet and phone service through Cable, I know you can buy your own modems and routers, but is there a particular kind of modem you'd need to get to support VOIP for the phone?
A friend of mine has phone through Cable and her internet and phone suddenly stopped working, although her TV service is fine. We are thinking that maybe the cable company's modem is bad, so she wants to buy her own modem, but we're not sure if it needs to be a particular type of modem. I've looked around for her, but haven't found anything in modem specs stating they support VOIP. Does it matter? Or can you buy any cable modem?
We already looked at the cable providers website to see their supported modems, but they are all the same brand as the one she has that doesn't work. She already has a wireless router, which she will plug into the modem she buys, so we're only looking for answers regaring a modem.

Jun 17, 2012I work for a non-profit agency and a donor gave us a generous donation of used Cisco equipment. One of the items is a SM-VAM2+. We tried it in a 7206VXR chassis with a NPE-G2 running 12.4(24)T6 and the router keeps barking that the SM-VAM2+ is not supported in the chassis. We have done searches on the Cisco web site and Google and there is no information regarding the SM-VAM2+ at all (all of the references are for the SA-VAM2+).
The question is if the SM-VAM2+ is supported on the 7206VXR with another version of IOS or what router supports the SM-VAM2+?
