Jun 14, 2011I've setup access via our ASA5510 portal which is working fine but I can't seem to connectto the ASA when there are two active connections. If there is only one, it's fine.
Problem - Unable to Connect More Than Three WEB VPN Users to PIX/ASAProblem :Only three WEB VPN clients can connect to ASA/PIX; the connection for the fourth client fails.
Solution :In most cases, this issue is related to a simultaneous login setting within the group policy.Use this illustration to configure the desired number of simultaneous logins. In this example, the desired value was 20.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5540 - 3000 Simultaneous IPsec Connections
May 15, 2013We are planning to use an ASA 5540 to terminate about 3000 IPSec connections. The maximum supported IPsec VPN Peers for this platform ist 5000, so this should be ok in theory.
What is a bit unclear to me is what exactly happens when (for whatever reason) all 3000 clients try to connect at once ? Perhaps it's not at once but depending on timers this could mean 3000 incoming IPsec connection within 10-20 seconds.
Will the the ASA cope with it ? I can't find any info regarding this on CCO. It's also not that easy to test/simulate.

- when i open more than 2 or 3 browser windows or anything that access internet, it stop routing
- shutdown and power up make it work again (then stops again after some simultaneous tcp connections)
- hard reset dont work

I tried contacting the customer care via email but they are too lazy to respond. If they disabled this feature then why in the world they mentioned in the manual. I need to have 1 nic connected to a vpn and the other to be restricted to intranet access only. I can't for the life of me figure out how to accomplish this.
Once I connect 1 nic to the VPN i'm no longer visible to my lan, even if the 2nd nic is connected.

Jun 2, 2012Past few days I've been having problems with my WiFi connections. the modem connection to my desktop works fine.. i called the isp guy to fix it.. he did something to my roommates laptop and the WiFi works on it.. but any other device trying to connect to the WiFi connection doesn't seem to get the net.
As in like if i try to connect to the WiFi connection from my phone it shows that iv been connected to it but i cannot open anything.. no internet browser page, no fb, no whats app, no play store.. Oct 27, 2012just bought a new monitor and graphic card (nvidia gtx 650), proceeded to install it, then installed the drivers. Now that my pc is much more good looking, i can't connect to internet anymore I'm writing this from my netbook, so my router works just fine. I tried to reinstall the graphic card videos, downloading the latest ones, and the drivers of my wireless usb adapter aswell (it's a tp-link TL-WN321G). I had no success, my pc still doesn't see any connection. I didn't find by googling many other examples of people unable to connect to internet after installing nvidia drivers.

Feb 15, 2012I come home from work on my lunch break to discover that my dog spilled her food on my router and I'm pretty sure thats how she discovered that cat5 cables are fun to saw on with her teeth, she chewed clean through 4 of them...she also chewed through the power cable and somehow cheated death in that regard.
After repairing and crimping all ethernet cables and substituting a brand new one for good measure, the DIR-615 will not see any ethernet connections, ie the lights on the front do not come on when the cable is plugged in, however I plugged my internet Cat5 into it and the little globe lights up saying that it is getting the internet. The wireless works fine as I connected to it with my phone. I know I repaired the cables properly but to rule that out I have used a brand new un-chewed cable and the router won't see that either. Is it possible that something was fried when the dog chewed through the power cable?

DSL Modem connected to "Router 1" with DHCP Enabled. 192.168.1.1 and static IP assigned for every element in the network.

At this point everything is working fine. Computers in "Place 1" can see computers in "Place 2" over network and share files and printers. Plus "Place 2" have internet from "Place 1".I want now to link "Place 2" to a "Place 3" using the same Nanostation M5 antennas and I can do it the same way I did Place1-Place2, BUT, what about "Place 3" router? it is connected to a DSL modem. "Router 3" should be DHCP Disabled too? What about the internet connection? I would like "Place 2" in the middle would be able to take the internet connection from both Place 1 - Place 3. It can be done keeping computers sharing files and folders between all 3 places?

Aug 22, 2011I've got a DIR-651 that does one of two things regularly:
1--drops all wireless connections momentarily, then re-establishes them (happens multiple times a day)
2--drops all wireless connections and has to be reset (happens every 0.5-2 days)
#1 wouldn't be a big deal, except that I keep VPN connections on two systems and have to re-establish them every time this happens. I should probably also note that this happens even on the weekends, when those two systems are not VPN'd in.
It has done this since day 1, and the firmware update did not work.

Aug 13, 2011My kid is heading off to college with a Toshiba Satellite E-205 laptop and a Kodak ESP Office 2150 printer. She would like to use the wireless printer option on the Kodak, which requires a wireless router. I have a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router that I can send with her.
I know her university has a very robust wireless system for Internet access, so she is going to want to use their wireless access.
So, the DIR-655 sole use will be to allow access to the printer. It will not be accessing the Internet or be cabled into the university's network.
Is it possible to operate TWO wireless connections at the same time so she can hit her university wireless and the DIR-655 so she can print wirelessly?
how do I configure the laptop and the DIR-655 to allow this kind of access?

I do not want the desktop and the Tablet networked with each other. there is a Tablet on Newegg: Velocity Micro Cruz Reader R103. the details say it's communication is 802.11b/g Wireless LAN. so I copy and paste that on Newegg and get: D-Link DIR-601 Wireless Broadband Router. not sure if that's what i need or what the configuration would be but I kind of know how to set it up.my question is can I connect a Desktop and a Tablet or any PC device to a router like this with out networking the individual units with each other? just to where it serves as more a splitter. is there any wireless alternatives to only "split" the Internet connection and not network the desktop and Tablet?

Dec 11, 2011I have been using a TP-Link wifi adapter for last two months, It worked flawlessly till a couple of days ago. It just so happened that i turned on my computer and even though the wifi connections were available, when trying to connect this message keeps showing up " Windows was unable to connect to UoC WiFi". I have tried everything from making a new wifi connection to changing usb-ports
FYI I use the same wifi connection on my netbook and android, and they are working fine, so it's definitely not a problem with the ISP.
