When I tried to start DHCP Client, I got Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on the Local Computer.Error 5: Access is denied. I checked the dependencies and all of them were on. For Network Location Awareness, I got the error Windows could not start the Network Location Awareness on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service cendor, and refer to service-specific error code -1073741288. One of its dependencies is fine, but I don't know how to check the other two, Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock and NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver. Also, how do I check the event log?Everything on the list that was said to check is running expect these two the lisie was having problems with. I have not had anything with memory recently and have not been able to successfully go through a system restore. I have tried many of the suggestions and just am not sure what to do anymore. The computer works perfectly fine, minus it cannot get on the internet.

Apr 11, 2012Day before yesterday my Laptop [Dell Studio] has suddenly stopped working and i have to shut it down forcefully. Then i logged in again but my wireless was not working, i have googled the solutions and tried to start the WLAN Autocofig service but its throwing an error : 1053 : The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely manner.I have Windows 7 installed on my system.Suddenly the speed of my laptop reduced drastically. Now its taking almost 12 mins to start instead of 2 mins.I have also removed some lines from the test files from the registry as mentioned in the below website as a resolution, but its not working.Unable to connect to wireless networks on Windows 7 Enterprise laptop. I dont have OS [Operating system's] CD as it was pre-installed on my laptop when i bought it.

May 9, 2013I'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?

Diagnostic Policy Service Cannot Start
Apr 8, 2011I am Using Windows 7 32-Bit, and my Network usually works fine, and my internet has been working fine up until recently. However about a month (maybe more) I noticed a problem that kept cutting me off occasionally and said Diagnostic Policy was not started, I troubleshooted it and it was fine. Much more recently this has been happening more frequently and troubleshooting it doesn't solve the problem. I can get online for 10-15 Mins then I am cut off again. Restarting the computer often fixes it but not always. I went to Services and found the Diagnostic Policy Service is not running, I press start and receive this error message.
The Diagnostic Policy Service service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by services or programs.I am quite sure my loss of Internet is due to this as this is a network related service and what the troubleshooter always finds to be the problem. Other Computer/Devices in the house connect to the internet fine with no loss of connection so it has nothing to do with that. I have tried various fixes like uninstalling network adapter drivers, and checking permissions in Registry but it has not worked.
Cannot Start Server Service On Local Computer
Feb 22, 2011System was running fine untill about two days ago. File and print sharing stop working. went to services and tried to restart "Computer Browser". It would not start due to a dependancy. Tried to start "Server Services" Got the following error. "Can not start Server Service on local computer, Error 2:The system cannot find the filed specified". The files srvsvc.dll 95KB 4/14/2008 The file srv.sys 327KB 4/14/2008.If I delete either of these files they are just created again. If I replace them with the new versions they are converted back to these files.I am running XP Pro SP3.

Oct 9, 2012I am thinking of upgrading the WCS to Cisco Prime NCS in our environment, but i read NCS is replaced by Prime infrastructure. Now I am confused if I should go for the NCS or Infrastructure. option for a smaller environment with 200APs and 4-5 WLCs(5500, 4400 and 2100) and future proof for the next 5 years. I heard WCS is going to be obsolete soon but didnt find any official announcement except for legacy licenses?

May 28, 2013I am looking for the licensing and upgrade path for going from WCS 7.0 to PI 1.2.At present I have a WCS licensed for 200 APs which is managing one controller and 150 APs.I intend to use the Cisco Prime Upgrade Promotion to order R-W-PI12-M-K9 (WCS 7.0 to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Migration) and L-W-PI12-100-M and L-W-PI12-100-M to match the number of licenses on the WCS.
Once Prime is installed I also want to manage another 50 devices, does that mean I have to purchase the Cisco PI 1.2 Base License and Software (R-PI12-Base-K9) and another 50 Lifecycle licenses, or will my existing 200 licenses from the upgrade suffice.

I've tried with both snmp v2 and v3. I've tried to lower "Maximum VarBinds per Get PDU" to 10 or 20, cause I've read similar problem in NCS.

Mar 7, 2012My roommate and I are trying to set up the internet, but my computer won't detect the Ethernet Cable. Whenever I go to Network and Sharing Center and try connecting to the internet, the computer simply says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware", even though the light is clearly on and should be working. The cable is also new so it should be fine. I've also been looking around on the internet a bit, and in trying to fix the problem it looks like some of my Services are turned off, which seems to be causing the problem. However, whenever I try and turn them on, I get an error message saying "The dependency service or group failed to start".

May 20, 2013I have newly deployed a Prime Infrastructure (PI) in my network, and i want to add my wirless controller in it. I get an error SNMP time out whenever i add my controller to PI through SNMP.
There are default SNMP configurations in the controller and i am simply adding them in PI with their private/public SNMP string.
WLC 5508 is connected to my core switch and PI is connected to another switch which is directly connected to core switch via Layer 3.
Is there any configuration required to be done on the switch side.?
