May 15, 2012We have a problem with the Layer2 view of the Topology java applet in Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.The Layer2 view shows all the ethernet interfaces links but not the ones in the serial interfaces.All devices have CDP and SNMP (read-only) enabled, and theirs neighbors can be seen with "show cdp neighbors" in both sides of those links.

Feb 4, 2012have ether-channel across 2 switches?i am new in cisco LMS . now i am in client site installing cisco LMS 4.1 in UCS server-rack version. we did it well for the installation, and the LMS working properly until i cannot open topology service.

Diagnostic Policy Service Cannot Start
Apr 8, 2011I am Using Windows 7 32-Bit, and my Network usually works fine, and my internet has been working fine up until recently. However about a month (maybe more) I noticed a problem that kept cutting me off occasionally and said Diagnostic Policy was not started, I troubleshooted it and it was fine. Much more recently this has been happening more frequently and troubleshooting it doesn't solve the problem. I can get online for 10-15 Mins then I am cut off again. Restarting the computer often fixes it but not always. I went to Services and found the Diagnostic Policy Service is not running, I press start and receive this error message.
The Diagnostic Policy Service service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by services or programs.I am quite sure my loss of Internet is due to this as this is a network related service and what the troubleshooter always finds to be the problem. Other Computer/Devices in the house connect to the internet fine with no loss of connection so it has nothing to do with that. I have tried various fixes like uninstalling network adapter drivers, and checking permissions in Registry but it has not worked.
Cannot Start Server Service On Local Computer
Feb 22, 2011System was running fine untill about two days ago. File and print sharing stop working. went to services and tried to restart "Computer Browser". It would not start due to a dependancy. Tried to start "Server Services" Got the following error. "Can not start Server Service on local computer, Error 2:The system cannot find the filed specified". The files srvsvc.dll 95KB 4/14/2008 The file srv.sys 327KB 4/14/2008.If I delete either of these files they are just created again. If I replace them with the new versions they are converted back to these files.I am running XP Pro SP3.

When I tried to start DHCP Client, I got Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on the Local Computer.Error 5: Access is denied. I checked the dependencies and all of them were on. For Network Location Awareness, I got the error Windows could not start the Network Location Awareness on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service cendor, and refer to service-specific error code -1073741288. One of its dependencies is fine, but I don't know how to check the other two, Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock and NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver. Also, how do I check the event log?Everything on the list that was said to check is running expect these two the lisie was having problems with. I have not had anything with memory recently and have not been able to successfully go through a system restore. I have tried many of the suggestions and just am not sure what to do anymore. The cable is also new so it should be fine. I've also been looking around on the internet a bit, and in trying to fix the problem it looks like some of my Services are turned off, which seems to be causing the problem. The unusual part is that this does not affect all users - I have two users with the same CiscoWorks rights, but only one can save map changes. The admin user is one that can't save map changes. I'm running LMS 2.2 on Solaris 2.8. The problem existed before and after I upgraded to Campus Manager IDU 11, and stopping and starting services hasn't worked.

Jan 29, 2013I'm trying to do configuration archiving in Prime Infrastructure 1.2 with a 5508 WLC (7.4).The job always fails (Admin -> Background Jobs) with the following error (see attachement):"SNMP: Failed to establish SNMP connection xxxx - Cause: Device is Unreachable. Check the ReadOnly community string." I double checked the SNMP credentials, they do match. For testing I also added a Public community just for the PI. Same result.Am I missing something?Is this not intended for Wireless Controllers?

May 9, 2013I'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?

Cisco Application :: ACE 20 Service-policy Out Of Service / Still Able To Connect To VIP
Feb 28, 2012We have a situation where services are stopped on the real servers. The probes fail and we confirm the services are not running on the server. We cannot access the ports from the ACE directly. We can still however acces the VIP on the TCP port (L4 VIP class-map). So we can still telnet to the VIP on the port from thr Client side of the network.This is on ACE 20 Modules deployed in Routed mode. The version of software is A2(3.3).
Tried removing multi-match and loadbalance policies as well as class-map and re-applying then re-appyling the service policy to interface. Same behavior,This is a problem at another level as some services are being monitored by GSS via TCP keep-Alive and this obviuosly causes a problem as the service then never goes off-line.
Cisco :: LMS 4.2 Topology Data Collection
Mar 20, 2012i have an issue with the lms 4.2 Topology Data Collection. After installation the Topology Data Collection was running normaly, but since first server reload the Topo Data Collect under Inventory > Dashboards > Device Status > Collection Summary is "frozen".Is there any option to stop this process elsewhere? I cannot find anything under jobs in running state or so. Clicking on Schedule only give me the option to start data collection, but lms always returns that the process is running.
