Dependency Service Or Group Failed To Start - Error 5

DHCP Client and Network Location Awareness aren't working. When I tried to start DHCP Client, I got Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on the Local Computer.Error 5: Access is denied. I checked the dependencies and all of them were on. For Network Location Awareness, I got the error Windows could not start the Network Location Awareness on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service cendor, and refer to service-specific error code -1073741288. One of its dependencies is fine, but I don't know how to check the other two, Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock and NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver. Also, how do I check the event log?Everything on the list that was said to check is running expect these two the lisie was having problems with. I have not had anything with memory recently and have not been able to successfully go through a system restore. I have tried many of the suggestions and just am not sure what to do anymore. The computer works perfectly fine, minus it cannot get on the internet.

I've been working on my laptop recently, once finished i turned my computer off like most people do. After turning it back on hours later, i noticed that my laptop was connected to the internet router but had limited access which ment i could'nt get onto the internet ! So when I went onto Network and sharing center and nothing came up apart from ''the dependency service or group failed to start'' ...I don't want to use system restore or reset tools of windows

My roommate and I are trying to set up the internet, but my computer won't detect the Ethernet Cable. Whenever I go to Network and Sharing Center and try connecting to the internet, the computer simply says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware", even though the light is clearly on and should be working. The cable is also new so it should be fine. I've also been looking around on the internet a bit, and in trying to fix the problem it looks like some of my Services are turned off, which seems to be causing the problem. However, whenever I try and turn them on, I get an error message saying "The dependency service or group failed to start".

My connection status icon has a big red x on it. I can't get on the internet. I tried the cmd stuff( ipconfig,netsh renewand release, and all the other jazz to do) my ip address starts with a 169 # I know that's not good. I go into my networks and I have no network. I go into my LAN ip4 and ip6and there are no addresses no were.I checked the LAN area status and it says not connected.

Day before yesterday my Laptop [Dell Studio] has suddenly stopped working and i have to shut it down forcefully. Then i logged in again but my wireless was not working, i have googled the solutions and tried to start the WLAN Autocofig service but its throwing an error : 1053 : The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely manner.I have Windows 7 installed on my system.Suddenly the speed of my laptop reduced drastically. Let me try to give as much info as I can to start. Running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate have all updates as of 01-16-2012. Recently had some malware that I removed not sure if there is a correlation. I am trying to connect my wireless connection on my pc to a router to run xbox and BD player. So I connect to my wireless network have my network card plugged into my router, connected to both networks. I go to properties on wireless connection click sharing tab check allow other network users to connect to the internet through this computer connection, also checked allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection. I click ok and get a error window that says in the title bar Network Connections the body of the window says, "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. I looked through services and device manager in non pnp drivers everything looks right to me... I am not super familiar with networking issues so I may have missed or overlooked something easily.

When I create a service object or group and add the object to a new rule it never works.I mean the traffic match not the rule. I see not hits.I placed the rule on top of my access list to check if I do somethink wrong but it is not working. When I place only a service for example tcp/23 it is working.

I am Using Windows 7 32-Bit, and my Network usually works fine, and my internet has been working fine up until recently. However about a month (maybe more) I noticed a problem that kept cutting me off occasionally and said Diagnostic Policy was not started, I troubleshooted it and it was fine. Much more recently this has been happening more frequently and troubleshooting it doesn't solve the problem. I can get online for 10-15 Mins then I am cut off again. Restarting the computer often fixes it but not always. I went to Services and found the Diagnostic Policy Service is not running, I press start and receive this error message.
The Diagnostic Policy Service service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by services or programs.I am quite sure my loss of Internet is due to this as this is a network related service and what the troubleshooter always finds to be the problem. Other Computer/Devices in the house connect to the internet fine with no loss of connection so it has nothing to do with that. I have tried various fixes like uninstalling network adapter drivers, and checking permissions in Registry but it has not worked.

System was running fine untill about two days ago. File and print sharing stop working. went to services and tried to restart "Computer Browser". It would not start due to a dependancy. Tried to start "Server Services" Got the following error. "Can not start Server Service on local computer, Error 2:The system cannot find the filed specified". The files srvsvc.dll 95KB 4/14/2008 The file srv.sys 327KB 4/14/2008.If I delete either of these files they are just created again. If I replace them with the new versions they are converted back to these files.I am running XP Pro SP3.

I upgraded CiscoWorks LMS from 3.0 to 3.2 today. Everything worked prior to the upgrade.The upgrade was successful, with no errors, and all services started. check everything and I see no problem. The system creates the file MDCSupportInformation.zip me clean without any content.I add the installation log file;And tell them that after upgrading to 3.2, you carge the following patches:

if a Cisco router or switch can handle wccp redirection enabled for both waas and some other web content filtering appliance using a different service group?
seems like the priority value would come into play determining which service group gets handled first?
we currently do WCCP for WaaS on our 3945s.
I am going to advocate to my customer that we separate this out for CPU load issues, config complexity issues, IOS issues, etc... but the question is going to come up - "can we do WCCP for different applications on our Catalyst 3750 core switch, or our 3945 WAN routers?"

when I made the purchase for Linksys X3000. However, when I reached home and tried to use it. It auto reboot every 1 or 2 mins of usage. It's not just wireless affected but the whole thing rebooted. Reflash the fimware doesn't makes much different. Did a Standard 30-30-30 reset didn't solve any problem. Logged the case and informed linksys customer service that I'll go down to the retail shop for replacement. Case ID Given.On the 8th Nov, I went back to the retailer shop and proceed to get a replacement. The shop was fine, they allowed for one on one replacement. However problem persist. This time it got worse, when I tried to flash the firmware, it got stuck at 98% for half an hour. So I got it rebooted. Next, It can't boot up and the power status shown Red color.
I contacted the same customer service and inform them about the same issue with the replacement. Next I was given the address of the RMA Office at Funan L5-K3. Problem is, the address and location is wrong, the office became a Kawaii Koochi cosplay dessert shop.On the 10th Nov 2011, Checked the address in the net and some stated it's in Bishan and some stated it's in Funan. I called the Number given by the customer service and the line is dead. Called again, this time its Indian CSO and was told by the customer service that they're not operating after 7pm. But the problem is, it's only 5.30pm. Apparently they thought I was in US or Canada. So they transferred me to another customer service but nobody picked up the call. The fella just told me that hey, they not picking up so there's nothing he could do and that's it.I called a number started with 800-1204280, they told me that the office location is in Funan lvl 6 just beside the huge challenger store. I went down again at about 6.30pm and managed to locate the Service Center, I think it's third party as it cater for other product such as lenovo and other brand.This time the RMA center customer service told me that they doesn't carry any stock for replacement. I wasted so many trip just for one router. It's a very dissappointing service overall and this product is highly unreliable.

we have approx. 70 Cisco 1941W routers deployed in our company. I used to be able to console into the internet wireless AP by issuing the below command:

We are using LMS 3.2.1 with SP1 and Campus Manager 5.2.2.Server runs Windows 2003 R2.Everything runs fine except for User Tracking on two Catalyst 6500 switches running CatOS. These devices are discovered, reachable, SNMP works fine, neighbors seen. But when we try to launch acquisition, the UT utility complains with this error message:"Failed to start acquisition: Device unreachable. Please enter a valid device."When we wanted to add ports via Device Trap Configuration, LMS has fired a different error message: "There are no ports to configure for the selected device(s).Check whether you have selected any router(s)." This network has a peer network with a mixture of Win 7, Vista and XP computers. The network problem I am having is with an XP computer that was able to access network shares on a Win 7 Pro (64-bit) computer yesterday, but cannot today. I tried repair steps that have worked for me in the past, but didn't today.
1. Rebooted.
2. Turned off Windows Firewall.
3. Re-ran the Network Setup Wizard and select turn on file and print sharing.
4. Changed IP configuration to choose NETBIOS over TCP/IP.
5. Uninstalled AV software.
Error Messages that I have been receiving:
1. When attempting to connect to a share on Win 7 PC: "Microsoft Windows Network: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation. The connection has not been restored."
2. When trying to view the computers in the workgroup: "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.
3. When using the command, "NET VIEW" from the command prompt: "System Error 58 has occurred.
4. Event Log: Browser error 8032. The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport DeviceNetBT_Tcpip_{06ECF93A-1B89-4FF4-923E-F3302EF95FE1}. The backup browser is stopping.

I have two desktops connected to the internet through wired connections to a router. I also have one laptop that is wireless connected to the internet via the same router. (Also have another laptop running Vista, but not using it right now.) and all are part of the same work group with unique computer names.Desktop 1 can see that there is a work group, but cannot see the computers in the work group. I have a 5510 with just a inside and outside interface, everything works on the lan inc internet access and exchange hosting to the net, but I have another exchange server on the wan and I can't get to that because I'm not natting inbound traffic and the default route sends traffic elsewhere.
If I put a nat any statement on the inside interface inbound it works, however all LAN internet traffic fails with a No translation group found error.I've removed the static nat commands as they are all named anyway, but below is what I have before I do a nat any inside inbound command global (outside) 1 interfaceglobal (inside) 2 interfacenat (inside) 0 access-list inside_nat0_outboundnat (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0.
