Jul 20, 2011DHCP Client and Network Location Awareness aren't working. When I tried to start DHCP Client, I got Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on the Local Computer.Error 5: Access is denied. I checked the dependencies and all of them were on. For Network Location Awareness, I got the error Windows could not start the Network Location Awareness on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service cendor, and refer to service-specific error code -1073741288. One of its dependencies is fine, but I don't know how to check the other two, Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock and NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver. Also, how do I check the event log?Everything on the list that was said to check is running expect these two the lisie was having problems with. I have not had anything with memory recently and have not been able to successfully go through a system restore. I have tried many of the suggestions and just am not sure what to do anymore. The computer works perfectly fine, minus it cannot get on the internet.

Nov 10, 2011when I made the purchase for Linksys X3000. However, when I reached home and tried to use it. It auto reboot every 1 or 2 mins of usage. It's not just wireless affected but the whole thing rebooted. Reflash the fimware doesn't makes much different. Did a Standard 30-30-30 reset didn't solve any problem. Logged the case and informed linksys customer service that I'll go down to the retail shop for replacement. Case ID Given.On the 8th Nov, I went back to the retailer shop and proceed to get a replacement. The shop was fine, they allowed for one on one replacement. However problem persist. This time it got worse, when I tried to flash the firmware, it got stuck at 98% for half an hour. So I got it rebooted. Next, It can't boot up and the power status shown Red color.
I contacted the same customer service and inform them about the same issue with the replacement. Next I was given the address of the RMA Office at Funan L5-K3. Problem is, the address and location is wrong, the office became a Kawaii Koochi cosplay dessert shop.On the 10th Nov 2011, Checked the address in the net and some stated it's in Bishan and some stated it's in Funan. I called the Number given by the customer service and the line is dead. Called again, this time its Indian CSO and was told by the customer service that they're not operating after 7pm. But the problem is, it's only 5.30pm. Apparently they thought I was in US or Canada. So they transferred me to another customer service but nobody picked up the call. The fella just told me that hey, they not picking up so there's nothing he could do and that's it.I called a number started with 800-1204280, they told me that the office location is in Funan lvl 6 just beside the huge challenger store. I went down again at about 6.30pm and managed to locate the Service Center, I think it's third party as it cater for other product such as lenovo and other brand.This time the RMA center customer service told me that they doesn't carry any stock for replacement. I wasted so many trip just for one router. It's a very dissappointing service overall and this product is highly unreliable.
Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1941W - Service Module Failed
Jul 25, 2012we have approx. 70 Cisco 1941W routers deployed in our company. I used to be able to console into the internet wireless AP by issuing the below command:
service-module wlan-ap0 session
However lately this hasn't been working and AP just simply refuses connection. Here is what I have for Status. I have tried reseting the Service Module to no avail.

Computer Won't Detect Ethernet Cable - Dependency Service Or Group Failed To Start
Mar 7, 2012My roommate and I are trying to set up the internet, but my computer won't detect the Ethernet Cable. Whenever I go to Network and Sharing Center and try connecting to the internet, the computer simply says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware", even though the light is clearly on and should be working. The cable is also new so it should be fine. I've also been looking around on the internet a bit, and in trying to fix the problem it looks like some of my Services are turned off, which seems to be causing the problem. However, whenever I try and turn them on, I get an error message saying "The dependency service or group failed to start".

Dec 14, 2011This network has a peer network with a mixture of Win 7, Vista and XP computers. The network problem I am having is with an XP computer that was able to access network shares on a Win 7 Pro (64-bit) computer yesterday, but cannot today. I tried repair steps that have worked for me in the past, but didn't today.
1. Rebooted.
2. Turned off Windows Firewall.
3. Re-ran the Network Setup Wizard and select turn on file and print sharing.
4. Changed IP configuration to choose NETBIOS over TCP/IP.
5. Uninstalled AV software.
Error Messages that I have been receiving:
1. When attempting to connect to a share on Win 7 PC: "Microsoft Windows Network: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation. The connection has not been restored."
2. When trying to view the computers in the workgroup: "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.
3. When using the command, "NET VIEW" from the command prompt: "System Error 58 has occurred.
4. Event Log: Browser error 8032. The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport DeviceNetBT_Tcpip_{06ECF93A-1B89-4FF4-923E-F3302EF95FE1}. The backup browser is stopping.
Reconnecting To Uverse Wireless Router?
Jan 30, 2013I have been trying to connect to my 2Wire Uverse wireless router and it not going well. I had it connected and for other reasons I went into the router setup and disabled wireless, did nothing else. When I enabled wireless again (and did nothing else) I could not connect my Win 7 computer. Everything else connects just fine so I know it's not the router but this Win 7 computer.When I click on the connections icon it shows me all the available wireless networks and the Uverse show but has a red X on it and the popup says something to the effect it's trying to connect but the connections are not the same as are in the profile or the info.

Mar 16, 2011I am using my wireless adapter..a Linksys AE1000..to connect to a friend's ATT U-Verse high speed internet for a few weeks. Due to a petty argument with his girlfriend..I overheard her and her friend and discovered that she had logged into the Uverse router/modem (192.168.1.254), which shows all devices that are connected. On this page it has links to access files for each device. Clicking on that, she was able to read all my files. Nothing to hide, I just don't like snoopers and even wonder if she could change settings or do something to mess up my computer. I cannot figure out how to block access by her Uverse thru my Linksys wireless adapter.
I normally do not allow any sort of file sharing and everywhere I have looked on my PC, nothing is enabled to file share or remote desktop share or anything like that. I'm not a total noob but have no clue if and how I can change this on my end so that she cannot get into my PC while I'm connected to their internet. Their router/modem is a 3800HGV-B.

Att Uverse Router Wifi Not Working
Mar 4, 2011I've been having some trouble with my ATT router. I've had it for months and there have never been any issues until now. It does not seem that it is broadcasting WiFi like usual. It will not show up on the WiFi network list on both my iPod and my laptop. I've tried resetting the router (by unplugging it and plugging it back in).

Mar 24, 2011I have an HP dv6000 that has an atheros ar5007 b/g card built in, windows vista home premium, the system was recently restored to start fresh for a new user (my daughter).The ethernet port on the side works fine to get online, the wifi is on and does find connections out there including our att uverse, it will connect to our library's and our community rooms free wifi, and to a neighbors unsecured connection as well, but no matter what I do I can't get it to connect to OUR att uverse!I do know the passkey and its verified with all our other laptops, iphones, ps3 etc, i tried updating the wifi cards drivers from the hp site, i turned off the firewall, re-tried the passkey, its not erroring on that just won't connect.There is this diagnose thing that does nothing, I have also reset the att uverse and restarted the laptop all same results.Then I thought maybe windows updates were needed, so plugged in via ethernet cord did those restarted, still same thing (won't connect to our att) but strangely still does connect to other wifi so i am pretty sure its not a bad card inside the machine or anything.

Apr 6, 2011We've had UVerse for about a year now - but lately we've had weird problems:
-about every 2-4 weeks, the router will spend a night constantly locking up and rebooting itself. ATT says they don't know why, and wanted me to check the power?? When it does this, it will do it for 30 minutes to TWO HOURS.
-every couple of days, the channels will freeze. If we change channels and then back, it returns to normal for a bit. Sometimes for a while, sometimes only for a minute. We have two boxes, each one does it. Even affects DVR playback. Internet doesn't seem to be affected, so I had originally though it was the boxes. ATT has remoted in, and can't find anything out of the ordinary.

Feb 28, 2012We have a situation where services are stopped on the real servers. The probes fail and we confirm the services are not running on the server. We cannot access the ports from the ACE directly. We can still however acces the VIP on the TCP port (L4 VIP class-map). So we can still telnet to the VIP on the port from thr Client side of the network.This is on ACE 20 Modules deployed in Routed mode. The version of software is A2(3.3).
Tried removing multi-match and loadbalance policies as well as class-map and re-applying then re-appyling the service policy to interface. Same behavior,This is a problem at another level as some services are being monitored by GSS via TCP keep-Alive and this obviuosly causes a problem as the service then never goes off-line.

Aug 29, 2012I recently "upgraded" to Uverse from DSL. While the speed boost is nice, UVerse comes with a 2wire residential gateway. Unfortunately you can't disable the DHCP functionality in the 2wire router, nor can you disable the router functionality completely and just run it as a modem, which has pretty much made it impossible to integrate into my network.So the partial solution anyway is to keep using the rv082 (yey!) behind the 2wire, assign a public static IP to the rv082 WAN1 i/f, disable the firewall in the 2wire for the rv082, and up and running again.The problem I'm facing now is that I had 3 devices on the LAN that were published using individual public static IPs. With good-ol'-DSL, I could use the one-to-one-NAT feature in the rv082, block any unwanted traffic in the firewall, and everything works. Unfortunately with the configuration options in the 2wire, I can only assign a single public IP address to any one device hooked up to it, in this case the rv082 WAN1 port.i have the one-to-one-NAT configured sequentially on the WAN and LAN side on the rv082 with nothing else hooked up to the 2wire. For example, one-to-one-NAT configuration in the rv082:
WAN range: 66.77.88.91 to 66.77..88.93
LAN range: 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.4
The 2wire is allocating the first public static IP in the range to the rv082 (i.e. 66.77.88.91). This works 100% reliably for this address - however because I can only assign a single address in the 2wire interface the other devices are no longer accessible externally. Curiously it kind of partially works, but not reliably. I can briefly connect to one of the other addresses (say xx.92), but then connectivity is lost to the others.Someone suggested I try using the Dual-WAN feature to get at least two addresses assigned to the rv082. Seemed like a good idea in theory, i.e. because the 2 WAN ports have different MAC addresses, the 2wire should see two different devices and allow me effectively to assign two public IPs to the rv082, e.g. 66.77.88.91 to WAN1 and 66.77.88.92 to WAN2. Of course failover mode won't work here, because only one is connected at a time. However the load-balancing mode did seem like it may work, but something is going on that I don't understand. Internal connectivity is working fine and I can access the internet, but for some reason the 2wire is getting really confused and constantly re-assigning IP addresses to the rv082. I don't know if this is because the host name is the same for both WAN1 and WAN2 ports, or there is something in how the rv082 does the load balancing.
- Is there any tricks to getting the Dual-WAN to work in the way needed to essentially have two simultaneous internet connections?
- Would it be possible to buy a 2nd rv082 and have it on the same LAN? How would I configure this?
- Is there an alternative Cisco router that may work better with what I'm trying to do?

Jan 25, 2011How can I connect and configure a new AT&T Uverse 2Wire 3801HGV gateway with an older 2wire 1701HG gateway as a router to add more IP addresses in a home network? The 3801 currently feeds a wired lan through three 16 and 8 port switches, and feeds way too many wireless users too. Plus, the 3801 also feeds the VOIP phone system and TV (non HD). I now know the 3801 has a max of 10 or 12 IP addresses that it can handle (where was that little detail in the AT&T material?). The 1701 can and has fed more than 50 wireless and wired connections easily for years. So, what needs to be done make the 1701 feed the wired and wireless lan from the 3801 gateway, as well as let the 3801 continue to feed the VOIP, TV, and some of the wireless lan needs at the same time?
