Cisco :: Ciscoworks LMS 4.0 Link Port Interface Utilization?
Oct 30, 2011
I have a problem with System-defined Link Port Interface Utilization Poller. When I generate Interface Utilization Report, this one just displays few Interfaces (see the figure in my attachment). I checked the default poller for interface utilization and recognize that it just associate with few Interface (same as in Interface Utilization Report) instead all. I need to display the utilization of all interfaces in my report
Is Link Port Interface Utilization wrong or Is it necessary to creat user-defined poller that associate with all interfaces of devices?

I have the problem that our ciscoworks server gets out of memory after few days. The memory utilization is always getting higher an higher (above 95%). Sometimes it is only after 3 days and sometimes it is after 1 week. So it happens not regularly. I have made an screenshot from the services which use a lot of memory. And at this time the memory utilization is getting higher and higher again....I think there is a problem with tomcat or dbsrv10.exe, there are also a lot of cwjava.exe running.

LMS is not reporting on all of my interfaces, utilization in particular. As an example, I have 1 location that is connected via DMVPN tunnels, when I run a utilization report, it only comes back with information for 1 interface, a random interface, port FA 1/7 on the switch module. If it was all of the switchports it might make more sense.
In DFM device detail the interfaces are being managed.
In the Link Utilization Poller, only 1 interface is listed (FA 1/7).

Interface Utilization report displays the interface utilization data for each device polled for the Interface Utilization template. The information is presented using the percentage specifier.
For eg its displayed % (Rx Max%,Rx Avg%,RxMin%,
Tx Max%,Tx Avg%,TxMin%)
I wants report should have the data(interface utilization In Bytes of data)Can we display the data instead of the percentage?

I have a cisco 1841, Im trying to write an app which will get the Interface Utilization on my 2 atm interfaces and fast eth 0/0 interface.
I’ve been reading up and have got as far as downloading the codeplex snmp library project. I’m using the snmpget app to get details off my 1841 successfully, but I now need to know the OID for interface utilization and how to define which interface to get.

I have one question regarding switch sg300-10. How can i check current interface utilization in bits/second? If I use show int counters I can only see number of unicast, broadcast and multicast packets....plus total packets. But there is no info regarding input and output rate for particular interface (like in original IOS when using show interface command).

I'm using a stack of four SGE2000P switches for a PoE video camera system. I've got the cameras in a VLAN and everything's working fine.
I'm wondering, though, is there a way to find out what data rate the stack interfaces are working at (since it's going over cable infrastructure we put in ourselves), and also what percentage of that bandwidth is being used? I don't see anyway to get to those interfaces from the main page, and I wasn't able to find a way to do any sort of percentage thing even on a regular interface.

The other day 3rd party supplier ran some stats on our Gigabit link between 2 Cisco catalyst 3750Gs.now the graphs produced showed only a Maximum output of about 100Mbps ( 5 minute intervals) yet when I do a show interface it shows a lot more always 150Mbps and more. So I did my own Perl script doing an "sh interface" every minute and then graphed it, and the results were a lot different to the MRTG results.Questions: I know MRTG uses SNMP to get the traffic is there a bug in the SNMP, what OID does it use?does the "sh interface" give the correct results?

i was able to configure (via SF200 web interface) a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE7.i have supressed this port mirroring.when i try to reconfigure a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE3. The SF200 web interface crash. the SF200 seems to reboot.
i have updated the SF200 firmware from V1.1.2.0 to V1.1.2.9.44 when i was able to configure (via SF200 web interface) a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE7.But after having suppressed this port mirroring again, i was not able to reconfigure a new port mirroring from port FE1 to FE3 (the SF200 hangs).
i have also tried to return to default factory setting but this does not solve the issue.i am working on SF200-24P

We are looking to setup a guest WLAN, and I have a dedicated port connected to our backup cable modem. On our old 4400 WLC I had specific ports assigned to interfaces. We upgraded to a 5508, and for the life of me I cannot figure out where to do this. On the 5508, under interfaces, there is no option to list a port under Physical Information. Our 5508 is running 7.2.111.3 software.

I am facing a strange issue with OSPF configuration. i have a server in DMZ and ports 22 & 9202 are opened. when some one does a telnet on port 22 it works and the same can be seen in sh ip cache flow command, but when we do a telnet on port 9202, the dest int is showing as NULL. i have OSFP & BGP configured on the same router and redistribution is also enabled.
MPLS Router (BGP & OSPF running) --> FW (DMZ int is configured, OSPF running) --> LAN (Inside, OSPF running).
when i execute sh ip ospf command on MPLS router, i couldnt see any route with Null interface. from MPLS router i am able to telnet on port 22 but not on 9202. also no packets hit my FW and the dest int shows as Null in sh ip cache flow command. but when i do a telnet on someother port, i can see the packets hitting my FW. why only traffic to that particular server on port 9202 is getting blcoked? also why the packets are hitting NULL interfcace when it desnt exists?

I am having an issue opening a port (4040) on the 655 for my Fedora-based subsonic server. Inside the LAN, I can see the device from other peer machines, so I am confident the port is open and listening. However, I can't seem to get to the machine-port from outside/internet.
I have tried Virtual Server and Port Forwarding with single port. The server has a stactic IP which I've included in the DHCP range and outside the range. I have a DSL connection (AT&T), modem only. I have updated firmware. I have exhausted the Subsonic community's knowledge, everything points to the router, but all the settings seem correct. What am I missing? Is if possible there is a defect in the router? (don't laugh). Is there a way to trace a request to that port to see where it is hanging?
(yes, I've STFA, but don't know what else to do).

we have 100 Cisco 881 routers in our network and they all work fine to Linksys, 3Com, etc switches. The problem we have encountered is interfacing to Netgear switches. Netgear switches use autosensing on their ports and it does not seem to be compatible with MDIX autosensing on the Cisco 881 4 port LAN hub that is standard on the 881 router. Would a cross over cable resolve the problem? Since both run autosensing MDIX they never synch - so likely a cross over would not do much. I see this with all types of Netgear smartswitches. If you put a small switch between the Netgear switch and the 881 Cisco router everything works fine except for getting port 9000 traffic through.

I noticied something different between these controllers running the same code.I can bound a physical port to the mgmt interface on one controller but not the other (both interfaces are untagged)see below, this config appears on one controller but not the other? Is this something to do with the initial setup? How can I add Phyiscal information to the other controller mgmt interface, I cannot delete the mgmt interface. We recently reset a 4400 controller in a school. Although all access points associated, clients could not get the Internet. On investigating we suddenly lost connection to the web interface. We tried hyperterminal connections to reset, but found that the managament interface had the ports "unconfigured". We finally reset the configuration, and when we tried to start from scratch it now does not allow a port designation. It asks for 1 or 0 but says both are invalid when entered.

I have an 8.3(2) ASA with a single outside IP. Dynamic PAT translates inside addresses to the outside interface address. I would like to use static NAT with port translation to access an inside syslog server. I got an error when I tried using the outside interface address. Can I use both dynamic PAT and Port Translation with the same outside address? This is what I would like to use but I receive an error saying there is an overlap using the outside interface address.(192.168.1.0 is my inside network. 10.10.1.10 is the outside interface IP.)
object network inside-net
subnet 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

object network SYSLOG_SERVER
host 192.168.1.50
nat (inside, outside) static 10.10.1.10 service tcp ssh ssh

this is my first time configuring a cisco router. For instance, a cisco router 1700 with 2 ethernet WICs and 1 LAN port. We have 2 ISPs one more stable than the other. We use an RDP session to an external host identified by lets say IP address 200.1.1.2 using ISP2 to get to this computer. We use ISP1 for all the internet usage, web pages, youtube etc. We are thinking of using this cisco router 1700 to make the packet filtering and routing of this RDP session to the correct ISP2 since we only have 1 NIC per computer on the LAN side.
The main idea would be:
| YES -----> ----------- then use ISP2
LAN---------> Are the packets RDP ?
| No--------> ----------- then use ISP1
Does this can be achieved using packet filtering using extended ACLs and to be router from the lan interface to route rdp (port 3389) packets to ISP2 WAN interface?

Since WLC5508 MGMT interface is configured a AP-Mgr at the same time, can I set a Backup Port to WLC5508 MGMT interface? Refer to WLC configuration Guide:
In the Backup Port text box, enter the number of the backup port assigned to the management interface. If the primary port for the management interface fails, the interface automatically moves to the backup port.
Note Do not define a backup port for an AP-manager interface. Port redundancy is not supported for AP-manager interfaces. If the AP-manager interface fails, all of the access points connected to the controller through that interface are evenly distributed among the other configured AP-manager interfaces
if I need to configure the backup port for MGMT interface, i need to remove the AP-manager on MGMT interface and create a network dynamic interface for AP-Manager ?

how to configure the backup port for the management interface for a WLC 2112. I see in the documentation that it states:
"Each interface is mapped to at least one primary port, and some interfaces (management and dynamic) can be mapped to an optional secondary (or backup) port. If the primary port for an interface fails, the interface automatically moves to the backup port. In addition, multiple interfaces can be mapped to a single controller port."
But nowhere can I find where it says how exactly to do it. Google seaches have come up empty as well. I am connecting the WLC to a 3750 stack, and would like to have a secondary port from the WLC connected to the second node of the 3750 stack. So far I have connected port 1 (management) of the WLC to a port on node 1 of the stack which is configured as a trunk and everything is workign fine. I have also connected port 2 from the WLC to a port on node 2 in the stack that is configured the same as the port on node one. how to tell the WLC to use port 2 as the management backup if needed.
