I have installed DCNM 5.2(2c) on windows box to manage Nexus 7K devices.\ have for the time being one device that i have manage and i see often the following text:Discrepancy in device accounting log,Recommended action: clear the accounting log and discover the device. View 4 RepliesWe are using Cisco 100 Series Unmanaged Switche, model SF100D-16 in our network drawer for land and OFF-shore use. As per the data sheet on the below link, the dimensions of this product should be 5.12 x 1.52 x 5.12 inches (130 x 38.5 x 130 mm).But our current batch of 40 pieces are of a different dimension. i.e 6.29 x 3.54 x 1.69 inches (160 x 90 x 43 mm) url..We have designed an 1U drawer to install this switch based on the dimesions in the datasheet. But now it is not going inside the drawer because of this 5 mm extra height.Not sure how this descripancy occured between data sheet and physical part. Now I am looking for a 16 port with same configuration of model SF100D-16, with 40mm or less height.

Hitting the Submit Button results in nothing, no popup stating the created job ID; without any content in this field a job is able to be scheduled.
why one of my two offices experiences significantly slower speeds when accessing the web. I'm a complete technology simpleton, so I haven't been able to figure out a logical reason for it. Here's the scenario:

My laptop, and all other CPUs, perform significantly faster at Office 2.
Is it the difference between the switch at Office 1 v the hub at Office 2? I always thought they were sort of the same thing. I know I've taken some of the cables out of the switch in Office 1 and put them directly into the Comcast Modem and haven't seen any improvement.
Why on earth does my laptop perform so much better at Office 2. I've also moved desktops to Office 2 and they are noticeable faster at that location as well. I'm stumped. We access a major company's web site for account servicing, and it is twice as fast at Office 2...while using the exact same laptop.
I have installed DCNM 6.2(1) on red hat 5.5 64bit and installed 4 evaluation (advanced) licenses on dcnm server:

Licenses are activated on a total of 31 devices (nexus 5000 and 3000 series), data is being monitored, graphics are drawn. However under the Web user interface of DCNM, under Health, Virtual Port Channels (vPC) no data is shown. Performance, vPC is also empty. No vPC errors/notifications are displayed. The installed advanced-eval licenses should support all the bells and whistles (including vPC), but still- no monitoring is done about vPC-s. vPC-s are up and active. network is discovered and monitored via snmp v2c only. could this be limiting vPC discovery- needing snmpv3/ssh access?
if i have a LMS server the newest version, and i bout Nexus 7K with its DCNM ver 5.2 (DCNM-N7K-K9) can i install the (DCNM-N7K-K9) license on the Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 Base so that i can manage Nexus through LMS?if this works Can I manage all Nexus switches also?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed the new version of DCNM Prime (Version: 6.2(1) and all installation process went well without any error or warning, DCNM SAN client works well I can loggin and manage my MDS and UCS, but I have big issue to run DCNM LAN client after successful logging I have window that freezing and nothing is displayed (see printscreen attachment) I reinstalled several time Java, installed four version different of Java, tried this client from three different PC and still have the same issue.

It seems to be working fine, apart from the DCNM-LAN client.If I login with the Java client, I got the GUI, however it remains blank - I can see the menu, but no data at all. It seems it cannot cummunicate with the DCNM server. DCNM-SAN client, the WEB client and the Device manager works fine, but I just cannot make this work.Tested it from Win2k3 SP2, Windows 7, and the server itself, with Java 1.6.31, 1.6.37, 1.7.13.

These Nexus are used like LAN and SAN switch. Each Nexus is a SAN fabric. I would want to use DCNM in order to configurate the zone/zoneset via GUI. These Nexus 5548 run 5.1(3)N2(1b) release.
The Nexus ARE NOT managed via the Mgmt interface (OOB) but they are managed via an interface vlan (InB)
I could not configure rightly
- the snmp-server user (SNMP user V1/v2 or V3 + group ? ) CLI on Nx
- to configure the discovery in order that DCNM discover each fabric either from web GU interface or java SAN client
It's been discovering a 6513 for over 90 minutes. Is this an expected duration or is something likely malfunctioning or is it just the sheer # of interfaces that it must process? The Nexus 5k's that it has discovered progressed fairly quickly.

(Cisco Prime DCNM 6.1(2), Windows 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit version, US)
Everything seems to be working fine so far, except the login to the webinterface.
When calling https://<SERVER_IP> (we're using 443 and 8443 in our setup), the login page appears. Entering the credentials results in the message "Authentication Failed. Please try again.". We tried that from a remote machine and the server itself and are using local authentication (not RADIUS or LDAP, ...).
On the other hand, when running the DCNM LAN Client (using the same credentials not working for the webinterface), there is a link (see image below: "here") pointing to the webinterface.

I found there was no license installed but the only licenses I found that came with them are "Cisco DCNM for LAN Enterprise Lic for one Nexus 7000 Chassis". So my question is this - do I need to configure a DCNM server to get the license pushed to these two 7009s or should there be another PAK for each chassis that I can register and get my enterprise services?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I choose to authenticate NCS users through Cisco ACS (5.4 in this instance) via TACACS, do I still have the ability to do accounting to track what changes they have made? I'm not getting anything in the TACACS accounting reports and I don't see anywhere to configure TACACS for accounting within NCS gui like I can on a WLC. I know that NCS has an internal audit trail but if a users account is both a local account on NCS as well as an account being authenticated through ACS does the Audit trail on NCS for that local user still contain the information about changes the user made? I ask because it looks like it does but I want to make sure I'm not going mad. Here is my example:
Local account username: NCS_Admin2AD account via TACACS username: NCS_Admin2
Audit trail for the NCS_Admin2 account on NCS looks like changes are being logged to NCS even though the user is logging in with their AD credentials via TACACS.

I would have thought to what is required is on the interface, turn on Ip accounting i.e.
int gi0/0/0
ip accounting
However, there is no ip accounting command within the interface. We are running version Version 15.1(1)S2.
it seems there is no option for flexconnect registered AP's to work with external accounting server.I am using zeroshell server to authenticate with the radius server,which works perfectly!but there is no option under flexconnect security group to specify accounting server.is there a way to redierct AP to a local acoouting+authentication radius ?

Everything works fine but i have authentication failed in the Radius accouting reports every time when users connect through ASA or Juniper into our network. Juniper amd ASA only send accounting informations to ACS. The users are not configured on the ACS, authentication is done via external LDAP. So my question is why do o see authentication error on ACS because Juniper and ASA only send accounting packets ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WLAN configured with 802.1x PEAP pointing to an external RADIUS server. It works fine for the most part, but I'm having problem closing accounting sessions in RADIUS. I've found this is related to the client table in the WLC. The user session does not end in RADIUS unless the WLC officially removes the client from the db, which takes 5-6 minutes from what I can see (probably due to the default idle timeout of 300 seconds).
For example:
1. I connect my tablet to the test WLAN. It associates and authenticates successfully and the WLC sends the accounting info to my RADIUS server, opening up a user session. If I turn off the wifi in the tablet, the client entry stays in the WLC client table until it times out. The WLC removes my tablet from the client table after 5-6 minutes, and then the session closes in the accounting table. I can force the session to close much earlier by manually removing the client from the WLC.
2. Same as #1, but this time instead of turning of the wifi in the tablet, I choose to connect to a different WLAN in the WLC. The user session in the accounting DB never closes. If I reconnect back to the original test WLAN with 802.1x, it opens up yet another user session in RADIUS accounting. Now I have a "dead" user session in accounting that is going to be open forever unless I delete it from SQL.
Is this an issue with the end user client not sending the disassociation frame properly, or a config problem with the WLC? How can I make it so that every time a client drops from an AP or moves to a different WLAN, the WLC would immediately send accounting updates to my RADIUS server and close the user session properly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedStruggling to find any documentation that states both "ip accounting & netflow" are supported on the new ME3600 switches. I have tried both a 12 and 15 release of software. Netflow produces no data what so ever, ip accounting only produces data (of the global network) when configured on my uplink (running MP-BGP network) unable to get specific data for user networks in seperate VRFs. Is this a case of the commands being there but not being supported?

I need to see the IP traffic incoming to my router from the WAN side (fasteth0/1 below). I setup ip cef, and ip flow ingress on the interface. However -- it seems that what I see when I use "ip cache flow" command doesn't have a very long history or life. What commands am I missing so that I can see a summary of the stats over say the last 5, 10 or 15 minutes?
