Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5510 / User Access To One Website Only
Apr 25, 2012
We currently have one Cisco ASA 5510 firewall at our mailn office. Our firewall does not let users access the internet. We currently have a web proxy that lets users access this. I need to let users access one website through the firewall without going through the firewall. I believe this is possible if I use dynamic NAT.
We are using an ASA 5510 and remote access (SSL VPN) using the AnyConnect client.
Is it possible to display a user message when a user connects using the AnyConnect client, matching a specific dynamic access policy? Can the message be displayed when the action is "Continue" rather than "Terminate"? I can't seem to get this to work and wondered if there was a LUA function to do this.
We have a DAP which gives a restricted ACL when the user's anti-virus is out of date, and I wanted to notify the user to update their anti-virus and reconnect.
I have block some website in URL Blocking. But they can access the website which i have blocked through proxy server? Can i deny user access proxy server? It has many proxy server,i can not block the proxy server one by one.
Running ASA 5510 with code 8.3 in it.We have our few https portal and OWA websites in HO.We access these sites from the network behind the ASA.All works perfectly fine.
In order to have control on internal network traffic we placed a web-filtering device (Fortigate) in transparent mode.To start with of we haven't blocked anything via new box but https portal and OWA stopped working from certain computers. At the same time other https sites were reachable from the same computer/s.We checked that website was tracable using traceroute from ASA,Fortigate and even from interal computer(from the one which it is not opening). This behaviour is random.
Our client tried to a download a real time generated file from a website, the generation process around 5 mins, after 5 mins, the file will be started to download
When my client direct connect to internet, the file can be download successfully, but when pass through the ASA 5510 and using the internal IP address, a message something like "Are you sure want to logout from this web page?" appears in Safari after 5 mins, i think the time of the error message appear when a "you can start to download" message send from the server to client, the page session timeout so that make the user cannot download the file from internet as the session is not vaild.
I couldn't find any timeout setting in "show runn", is it possible the setting in ASDM? how can I find it and configure it?
We are using ASA 5510 Version 7.2(4) at our organisation. The requirement is we need to give an access to a user with limited access so that he can run only specific commands on configuration mode. We don't have Cisco TACACS server instead of that we are using a microsoft radius server.
ip local pool VPNPOOL 192.168.200.1-192.168.200.100.
i can access servers with remote vpn which they located at dmz zone at asa(write nonat access-lsit) but i can not 192.168.193.0 subnet at asa.i configurated proxy server. my proxy server inside interface get ip address my dmz zone(172.16.10.254) and outside is ip adddress asa outside interface (10.0.0.254).the users (192.168.193.0/24) go internet from proxy server.
I have a 20/20 MB circuit and an ASA 5510 and I am able to setup policing were the interace gets 512k down and 128k up so when I conduct a speed test with one user I get 512k and 128k and when I conduct a speed test with two users each gets 256k and 64k. [code] What I want to happen is that each user gets 512k and 128k until a saturation point is hit and then I want the ASA to slow all users down equally.
We have an ASA 5510 version 8.3 (2) that we accept VPN users via a radius server. Is there a way to lock down a specific user that connects to the ASA as a SSL client or IPSEC VPN user? If the specific user were to connect to the ASA, we would want the user to have minimal to not access to our system.
ASA 5510 ASA 8.0 ASDM 6.1 I want some remote users to have split-tunnel connection, others not. I used Cisco Document ID 100936 "Allow Split Tunneling for AnyConnect VPN Client on the ASA Configuration...". I created a new Group Policy with split-tunnel enabled. I created a new Connection Profile and assigned to it the new Group Policy. When I authenticate at the AnyConnect client I get a dropdown of the 2 connecton profiles, to choose the one I want. Each of them works, enabling or disabling split-tunnel. But I want to assign a connection profile to the particular user, not give the user a choice. The problem is I'm using LDAP authentication. The Local Users I set up before LDAP are obsolete, assigning them a Group Policy does nothing. I really don't want to give up LDAP and force people back to another local password. But the LDAP authentication to Active Directory just says yes or no, it won't assign a connection profile. At the AnyConnect Connection Profiles page I have set a switch "Allow user to select connection profile, identified by its alias, on the login page. Otherwise, DefaultWebVPNGroup will be the connection profile". If I clear that switch every user will be assigned the same default profile, which does not work.
My web server sits behind an ASA 5500.When I access the web site from outside, it works fine. When I try and access it from the server itself, I get"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. I can access other web sites, such as Yahoo.com, Google.com, etc. I have rules setup to restrict/enable incoming traffic, but I don't have any rules setup to "loop back".
We've just replaced our Fortinet Firewalls with 5525's but are struggling to get a feature working that worked great on the Fortinet firewall. All our users use a proxy for internet access that's configured in IE but from time to time some users need to remove this proxy and go directly out to the internet, with the Fortinet devices we created a rule right at the bottom of the inside access out rule that had it authenticate users via TACACS which worked a treat and could be used from PC or laptop. We want to do a similar thing on the 5525 and I thought the Authenticated user would give me this access but I don't seem to be able to get it to work. I've got the AD side of it working fine the ASA can pull user and groups from AD but I'm struggling to get this working for a user.
I tried the solution posted at [URL] however it did not work on my ASA5505 8.4(2). I thought that it may be because I only have a single public address so the web server is responding to port forwarding through the one public IP already. looking in ASDM it appears to indicate that a configured access list is blocking the server from responding to the internal hosts.
Can I fix an access list (or something) to make this work or am I wishing for too much with only one public IP? This worked by default on my Netgear firewall.
I have a 3845 router (12.4(13r)T10) with ZBF. On my LAN there is a user who need to access a remote IPSEC VPN server. He is able to get the tunnel but afterwards he cannot connect to any service in the remote LAN. As I'm using zbf I think that I should inspect traffic from my LAN zone to EXT zone, There is a document that describe a solution to this? What IP adressess should I use?

I would like to create a additional user vpn on a 55010 where the user authenticates with the firewall and not the radius server. This user should NOT be able to log on to the firewall, but only be able to authenticates with the vpn client.I'm correct that the command "username abc123 password abc234 privilege 0" ?Also for this remote vpn how to I make sure the user only authencates with this password?
I have some problem with the ASA 5510 ver 7.0(6). My manager wants to keep this as backup. tried lots of things but still users not able to access internet nor can i ping anywhere. For example when i ping 4.2.2.2 i dont get any reply. The runing config is below for ur ref :
We are running ACS 5.2 patch 6 and want to restrict access for users to be able to add devices to the system. For example, admin person in site A can only add devices into the site A group and cannot see/access other sites groups.
This is my first time to use the Cisco ASA 5500 family. I have a request from a user to create an access rule, to allow all LAN traffic to Destination IP address 165.241.29.17, 165.241.31.254 with Destination TCP port 5060,5061,5070 and UDP port 50000-52399.
Recently powered down device (transformer overhaul) and when it booted back up, unable to access with ASDM, SSH...can access directly using HyperTerm, but have only limited commands...will not accept known user/password credentials. When I issue 'show flash' I can see that there are upgrade_startup_errors.log files, but cannot access them.
Is there a way to access the asa in a failover pair that is in standby mode from the primary asa? IE I am logged into the primary asa via command line and was hoping to access the other asa from here.
I can't seem to get internet access working from the DMZ network through our ASA 5510. PCs on the DMZ can ping the ASA but can't get out to the internet.I will attach a (cleaned) configure.
I can get access to the internet from the ASA 5510 itself and that is confirmed via pings. However, anything behind the ASA does not have internet access, on any VLAN/sub-interface. I've attached my running-config.
the set-up is: a DSL modem in half bridge (it does all the PPPoE connection) passes our static IP (55.167.x.x) to the ASA's outside interface ... (the modem has an IP of 192.168.1.1, but not sure this matters)
then I have one inside interface on 192.168.43.1, which connects to a server and we have a working site-to-site VPN between this server and a client.. so I know most of it's set up right ... nothing else is on the 192.168.43.0/24 network.
the management interface is on 200.200.1.0/24 so it's out of the way and incidentally connected to a dedicated PC, which also has console access via the blue serial cable.
the last interface Main_Network is on the 192.168.0.0/24 network and it's this that I'm trying to get to work... at the moment I just have one Windows PC connected directly (does it need to go through a switch?) into the ASA for testing with a static IP (192.168.0.72), but I can't ping anything outside from the PC... only the ASA's interface (at 192.168.0.30).. I have the gateway on the PC set as 192.168.0.30 by the way.
The ASA can ping all the inside machines and anything I like outside.
Here's my config ... the static routes are there for when this replaces the current modem/router and the whole network plugs into the ASA.
ciscoasa(config)# show running-config : Saved : ASA Version 8.2(5) ! hostname ciscoasa
I lost the ability for my Web server (or any servers in the DMZ) to access the Internet. However, the Web server is still being used fine from the Internet. Here is my config
I bought ASA 5510 about a week ago, very basic configuration and my priority was and still to get access list inbound the outside “Security Level 0 “so I can access my web server from the cloud but unfortunately I could not make it work (((TCP access denied by ACL from 92.40.X.X/52511 to outside:81.108.X.X/80))). ••à>> 92.40.X.X is a pc from the cloud that I used to access my web server and the 81.108.X.X is my public ip address My recent Conf is as follow:
Nat Section: ================================================================================== Dynamic: nat (inside, outside) source dynamic any interface <<<To have the PCs that inside the Network to have access to Internet>>>>
I am getting some problem with ASA WebVPN browser, in some website I cannot show links or part of the page. Is there some applet java that i cannot import in "client-server plug-ins"? I've found only java plug-in for remote access.
