Though ASA5585-X S-20 and UCS C200 are not in LMS 4.0 supported device table, I'm wondering if there is any way to monitor these devices using LMS? Our data centre has a quite number of UCS C200 servers and two ASA5585-X S-20.

Both are snip enabled and responding too. What is the reason behind unknown device type so those are not reflecting in any module.

I have a Cisco Linksys WAG120N running with the firmware version 1.00.12, and it's working a quite fine.During some tests with the nmap command under Linux, I noticed that beyond the ports 80 and 433, another opened port 32764 shows up running an unknown service.This unknown service keeps running after scanning for ports between 1-65535 using nmap in stealth mode. But after querying the modem for operating system fingerprint using nmap but not in stealth mode, this port closes and the service disappears.
By using a browser to access 192.168.1.1:32764, a 12 byte "<random_prefix>.exe" file is download, and its's recognized as a text file. The file contains a "MMcSÿÿÿÿ" string, and the bytes in hexadecimal are "4d 4d 63 53 ff ff ff ff 00 00 00 00".And also, something strange happens after this unknown service goes down: Accessing the modem setup via browser, the settings displayed are different than I commonly use. the encapsulation is set to "Bridged Mode Only" instead the "RFC 2516 PPPoE", and into the Status Tab the Current Time field says "Time Zone string Error". Still in the Status Tab, in the Internet Connection information the "Login Type" is a misspelled "UNKNOW", the interface says "Connected" to a well accessible Default Gateway., the same displayed into the Routing Table Entry. Th Applications & Gaming Tab is unaccessible.After power switching the modem off and on again, everything comes back to normal again.
Is it true, that the new ASA Platform 5585 does not support Multicast. Here on Page 7:[URL] because the old ASAs support Multicast.

So i have just been looking around on the sky address to see if i can fix it and in my Attached devices i have, the pc, an ipod touch and an unknown device. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the slow speeds and maybe it's somehow 'stealing' my broadband. View 1 Replies View RelatedWe had a new linux server installed at a remote office yesterday, unfortunately the guy installing the server forgot to change the IP addresses, doh. It's plugged into a C877 and I can see the port is up/up and I see the mac address using 'sh mac-address-table'. The ip address on the server is unknown but it's unlikely to be in the correct subnet for the vlan it's attached to.
Is there a way I can add an arp entry manually to the router, then ssh to the server and correct the ip address? Or is there some other way to establish the IP address of the server? It's gonna be a pain to revisit the office and there's no one there that can get into the server room to do anything from the console.
My desktop's internet connection is acting up. It's always worked fine, then all of a sudden it has stopped. I can still access MSN messenger and Paltalk, perfectly fine, and it is showing that I have an internet connection. However, when I open any of my browser windows, it cannot access the internet. My laptop and ipod are connecting fine on the wireless. I have my ethernet cable from the desktop plugged into the router, which is plugged into the modem. I CAN force the connection to work by 'talking' to the modem (using the IP address) and doing a disconnect and reconnect. This lasts for a little while, then it stops again. When I do my network map, it shows an 'unknown device' where the modem is supposed to be. When I disconnect and reconnect the modem, it changes from 'unknown device' to 'switch'.

I recently purchased a Linksys EA4500 Dual-Band N900 Router with Gigabit and USB. Everything set up great with no problems and after a day or 2 I managed to get all home devices connected (2 laptops, 2 printers, an iphone, 1 tv, 1 blu-ray, an old desktop, and a tablet). Everything was connected right and working and I installed the Linksys app on my iPhone which let me see what devices were connected and all that. Well, last night, an unknown device showed up as a connected device. It's labeled as: android_(insert string of characters) and has a MAC address. I've tried and tried to identify what this device is and I can't. Everything else on our network is still showing up independently of that device. I'm worried that someone using our connection and possibly putting our device security at risk. What can I do to A) try to identify what the device is and B) if it is an intruder, block it's access.

I have the WRT400N router with the latest firmware. Recently I have noticed a device in my DHCP that I do not recognize. It is not device I own (believe me, I have racked my brain and confirmed) as it shows as an Acer pc. I cannot ping the IP address however. I have rebooted my router several times thinking maybe it's a former connected device but saved in memory but it keeps coming back. I am thinking possibly it is someone hi-jacking my Internet, but not sure. I am using WEP security but it shows a LAN connection which is strange for a wireless device. The only hard wired pc is my HP.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt may be a coincidence but my Broadcom Network Adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager (It was working perfectly before this).OS: Windows 7 Starter on 'BenQ Joybook Lite U105'.I tried the Windows Network trouble shooter and it didn't work (saying there may be a problem with the driver. I uninstalled the driver and re-installed it (including a possibly newer one) and it didn't work. Within 'Network Connections" the Broadcom wireless adapter is shown as 'disabled' I R-clicked to enable it, a window popped up saying it was enabled but it still showed as being disabled. My feeling is that something is preventing it from being enabled, logically, I would guess. Also went to 'Component Services' and ether started or restarted everything with the word network on it still no luck..My Google search on an other pc , now on day 3, couldn't find anything. We have ciscoworks LMS 3.2 and I need to update the definition/device support for these switches. We are conducting a network refresh and are having some issues with ciscoworks polling these devices correctly.
I have looked through the various user guides and searched on google with not much luck as to how to actually do this, the links I have found breifly go into it, but not indepth, and the cisco links I have found, of course have redirects to new pages which bear to resemblance to what is in the original document. Is there a clear guide out there on how to update the switch definiton in ciscoworks? So I can i can try and do this correctly?
I am unable to successfully authenticate my SG200 to either a Cisco ACS or Windows2008 RADUIS server. (C3750x on the same network authenticates fine).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm monitoring 2 ASA 5585-x firewalls (in HA mode) using Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.1. The LMS server is connected to the firewalls on the inside interface.
My issue is that I keep on receiving Alert messages on Fault Monitor for both ASA firewalls listing all interfaces (except inside interface) as unresponsive.
My thought is that since the LMS server is not able to ping other active interfaces, it generates these alert messages.
My query is whether I'm thinking right? If yes, how can I prevent these unwanted messages from showing in Fault Monitor?
I have three different VRF on Nexus 7k, and we want those should be extend to Cisco ASA 5585 IOS 8.4.5.We had used the trunk port on Nexus 7k to ASA connectivity... and Dynamic protocl OSPF is running , both are in same area of OSPF,We are making subinterface on firewall for each VLAN.... in this scnerio only one VRF connectivity is working.. but other VRF are not pingable from ASA.
