Cisco WAN :: ASA5510 - Multiple L2L VPN With Overlapping Remote Network Ranges?

Feb 4, 2013

I have an ASA5510, and site-to-site VPN with several remote clients. I have to add another client but their network range overlaps an existing tunnel. Both are using 172.16.0.0/16. I would like to 1-to-1 NAT them as 172.17.0.0/16.

Is it possible to perform the NAT on my device, post-decryption, or is it necessary that I have them perform the NAT at their end?

Cisco Routers :: RV180 Multiple Tunnels To The Same Endpoint?

Nov 10, 2012

I purchased the RV180 to replace a dead Linksys BEFVP41 to connect a home office to HQ.  The Linksys was configured with three IPSEC tunnels to connect to three different subnets all through the main HQ gateway.  Note that each tunnel is independent with its own pre-shared key.  I can configure the same tunnels on the RV180, and each one works correctly, but I can only get one to run at a time.  I have to disable the other two.  Enabling a second tunnel results in the No phase2 handle found error.  I could not use the Basic VPN setup as it complains that the remote endpoint is already in use.  I had to use the Advanced VPN Setup to create the IKE and IPSEC policies.  In a different discussion [URL]

Cisco Routers :: RV180 / Setup Custom Service That Contains Both Multiple Disjoint Ports?

Jul 11, 2012

I have an rv180 and I'm trying to setup a custom service that contains both multiple disjoint ports (some UDP some TCP), as well as a TCP port range. This has lead me to a couple of questions.1) Is it even possible to have a single custom service with disjoint ports? Is it just going to be necessary to define multiple partial services for this?2) Is it possible to forward a range of ports? It's clear how to define a service with a port range, but the port forwarding table interface only allows me to select one LAN-side port for any service. Is there a secret notation that I need to do here that will just forward to the same LAN-side port as the WAN-side port---effectively one-to-one NAT forwarding, but just for the selected service?

Cisco Routers :: RV180 / RV180W - MAC Address Filtering And IP Biding

May 24, 2012

I'm interested by the router Cisco RV180 or RV180W.

So as to increase security, i would like to set a MAC adress access restriction for all peripherals that would be connected to the router (10 computers, 2 servers, 6 Synology NAS) : only allowed MAC adress should access to the internet and network ressources.

Does the Cisco RV180 or RV180W have an IP to Mac biding feature and a Mac adress restriction feature ? If yes, how many peripherals/computers can be set ?

For example, only 30 mac/IP adress can be allowed on my actual router and it is not enough.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 4507 Not Able To Route Multiple Ip Ranges

Apr 24, 2012

I have this cisco 4507 switch that I need to configure multiple ip ranges on. The problem is that I can only configure two ip ranges on it, one ip range on the management vlan and the other ip range on vlan 2. After I have configured these 2 vlans with different ip ranges, I can route between then and get them to talk to each other, but that is all I can do. If I add another vlan with a different IP range I cannot see it from the switch or get any of the otehr ip ranges to see it.

I am doing something dumb because this is a layer 4 device so it should be able to route the ip ranges. I have tried everything just cannot get it to work. I have assigned the IP range directly to the port number and directly to the vlans. Just wont work.

Cisco Wireless :: Make WAP4410 Fall Under Two Ip Address Ranges?

Apr 24, 2011

I am wondering if I can make our WAP4410 fall under two ip address ranges. I want to have a network for the office users and one for the guest users. We currently use a Safe@Office500WP Checkpoint router. It allows us to create multiple network ranges. We have the office users wireless under 192.168.0.1 ip range and the Guest Wireless is under the 192.168.200.1 range. Do I need two access points or can this be done with just the one?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: NAT Multiple External IPs On RV180?

Dec 25, 2012

how to properly route multiple external IPs to internal ips assigned to several servers.  Where I'm getting a bit lost is that I have two levels of routing - one from the outside into a comcast business class cable modem, which also creates its own internal network.  Within that internal network, I have my RV180 router, which creates another separate internal network in which the servers live (don't want the servers to have access to other computers within the Comcast Modem's internal network).  I want to map the external ips to servers within the RV180 second level network.

To diagram:

Comcast Cable Modem
/
RV180     Computer(s)
/
S1     S2

An internal IP is assigned to the RV180 router.  Suppose it is 192.168.1.100.

The cable modem itself supports NAT as well.  Do I use NAT twice (on both cable modem and RV180) to route the external IP to S1 and S2?

Or do I modify the routing table on the cable modem?  Then use One to One NAT on the RV180 to map the external IPs directly to the internals?

Home Network :: Belkin F5D8635-4v1 - Access Multiple Servers From One Dynamic IP Address

Jan 23, 2012

I am working with MS Windows 2008 R2 and a Belkin F5D8635-4v1 router.

I have already set up a dynamic IP address which points to my router at home. In my home network I have multiple PC's that I would like to access from the internet. I would like to achieve this without needing to change my port forwarding rules on my router each time...

My thoughts are that I use a single dynamic IP address pointed to my router. My router then forwards to a server with some sort of software that can then forward to the correct PC based on the host name.

So I have 3 domains set up all pointing to the router's IP address:

dest1.domain.com -> 41.xxx.xxx.45
dest2.domain.com -> 41.xxx.xxx.45
dest3.domain.com -> 41.xxx.xxx.45

The router is not smart enough to redirect by host name, so it will just forward everything to 10.0.0.20 The server based at 10.0.0.20 must then have software to now redetermine the target based on the host name. The rules would be set up as follows:

dest1.domain.com -> 10.0.0.22
dest2.domain.com -> 10.0.0.24
dest3.domain.com -> 10.0.0.26

Getting Multiple Routers And All PCs On Same Network?

Jul 6, 2012

I want the following configuration:

- 1 Master router with no PC's connected (only the slave routers will connect to it)

- 2 Slave routers each connected to master router Each slave router will have multiple PC's connected via ethernet and/or wireless

I have been able to set this up with all PC's having an internet connection. BUT I need all the PC's to see each other on a single network. I can see all the PC's on a single slave router but I can't see the PC's on slave 1 from slave 2 or vice versa. I have been using the WAN inputs on both slave routers. All 3 routers are Netgear WRN3500L.

Home Network With Multiple Routers

Dec 31, 2011

I have a 2 wire HomePortal 1000SW modem in our home office. Its connected to a dlink DI-524 wireless router (also in the office), which is connected to a dlink DIR-601 in the opposite end of the house, both are connected using LAN ports, not WAN. All 3 of these devices are capable of wireless, and all have the same SSID and wep encryption key (they use different channels, 1, 6, 11). As of right now, i have the DI-524's wireless disabled, and the wireless is still on for the DIR-601 and the HomePortal, but only the HomePortal has DHCP turned on. The problem I'm having is that i can connect and get assigned an ip address when I'm in the office, but if i initially connect to the network near the DIR-601, i get limited connectivity and a self-assigned IP-address.

Using Multiple Routers Without Significantly Reducing Network Speed

Aug 23, 2011

I recently got a new modem/router device from my ISP and its wifi is fairly weak (no external antennas) especially in my basement. Since wifi is no longer an option and I only have one ethernet connection to my basement I was thinking of using my old router to distribute the one ethernet connection to multiple devices. Connecting my one ethernet connection to the old router, and its port#1 to my PC in the basement works without any meddling, but the speed has taken a significant hit. Before the second router I was getting ~30-40Mbps from my ISP. With the second router it is reduced to ~10-20Mbps. Both routers I assume are capable of at least 100Mbps (probably even 1Gbps?). The older router is a Linksys WRT54G which can do 54Mbps wirelessly so I assume it can exceed 10-20 wired.I tried giving the second router a static IP with DHCP off, but it did not seem to make a difference. I don't know if I set it up correctly, however. The modem/router uses 192.168.0.xxx while the second uses 192. 168. 1.xxx so I do not think there is any conflicts in the DHCP.

But i cannot get to the home page to change the IP address. 'multiple routers' it says to simply unplug one, so you can get to the config page at 192.168.1.1. I can not unplug the main router for the business, right? Do i need to change the IP of the Netgear temporarily? Will that bring down the network?

Cisco Routers :: RV180 - Log Warnings With QOS IP Or MAC

May 20, 2013

I had set up QOS for an IP Range and noticed the logs filling up with Warnings - hundreds within less than an hour.

I finally reset the router to factory and then step by step re-built my configuration - it was the QOS that started generating these warnings like:

Tue May 21 13:18:39 2013(GMT-0500) [rv180][Kernel][KERNEL] [87073.550000] IN=bdg1 OUT= DST MAC=d8:67:d9:c3:a0:2e SRC MAC=00:0e:58:58:57:7a PAYLOAD TYPE=08:00 SRC=192.168.1.193 DST=208.85.44.22 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=19313 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=1768 DPT=80 WINDOW=2534 RES=0x00 ACK URGP=0 MAR

[Code].....

In both cases above, after I started to suspect QOS, I entered a narrow IP range to test and then a MAC to test.  Using a VLAN seems to work fine and generate no errors - even a VLAN for the same associated host(s).

I have a support case open about this - didn't get too far yet, but now with a better repro, maybe they will.

Cisco Routers :: NATed Did Not Add VLAN On RV180

May 7, 2013

I have RV180 configured with two VLANs. First VLAN is untagged and second VLAN is tagged. The purpose is two have two subnets, with the second subnet used for guest access. Both VLANs have DHCP server enabled. First VLAN is 192.168.1.0/24 and the second VLAN is 192.168.2.0/24, When I connect a computer with untagged Ethernet interface, it gets an IP address from DHCP server on the first subnet i.e. 192.168.1.100 and it can successfully access Internet. When I connect a computer with tagged Ethernet interface (I am using VLAN ID 10), it gets an IP address from DHCP server on the second VLAN i.e. 192.168.2.100. So far so good. I can successfully ping hosts on the Internet i.e. ping www.google.com. But I cannot access Internet from the web browser. I captured Wireshark trace and here is what I see...

1. TCP SYN. Source IP 192.168.2.100, destination IP A.B.C.D. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10)
2. TCP SYN ACK. Source IP A.B.C.D, destination IP 192.168.2.100. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10)
3. TCP ACK. Source IP 192.168.2.100, destination IP A.B.C.D. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10)
4. TCP Data. Source IP 192.168.2.100, destination IP A.B.C.D. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10)
5. TCP Data. Source IP A.B.C.D, destination IP 192.168.2.100. Frame is untagged

The problem is at #5. Packet came back from the Web Server. RV180 properly NATed it to the local IP address. But it did not add VLAN tag.

Cisco Routers :: SB RV180 VPN Users Not Showing Up?

Cisco Routers :: RV180 Router Will Not Connect To ISP

May 16, 2012

I am contemplating replacing my Juniper Netscreen 5GT with this new RV180.

serial number 161303LB
RVC180 V01

However, it will not connect to my ISP (DSLExtreme) using the same settings I have been using for multiple years. DSLExtreme is using AT&T DSLAMS, as you likely know, and I am unaware of anything unique about how they serve DHCP?

The Cisco wizard sits on the WAN configuration check forever, and never connects. I have rebooted it and allowed it to sit for fifteen minutes trying. I think that is enough.

The 5GT WAN interface is configured for "DCHP Client" and that is how the RV180 is configured.

It is a standard 6MB DSL line, I have tried both the existing cable, as well as the provided one to connect to the D-Link 2320B modem/bridge, which, as I indicated, syncs almost instantly with the Netscreen. No difference when the cables are swapped.
