I need to connect three sites. I also need to support some roving PCs connecting to the sites via VPN. With the RV180, can I support multiple ptp vpn connects between them, and at the same time, have the roving PCs connect to the RV180s.
I am trying to configure a Unified Wireless solutions with ACS 5.1 and am having trouble with the access policies. We have corporate laptops authenticating via PEAP and 7921 phones authenticating using EAP-FAST.
I have one access service configured to allow PEAP and authenticate against AD and another access service configured to allow EAP-FAST and authenticate the 7921 phones against the "internal user" database.
I have configured 2 service selection rules. Each one points to one of the access services. The only condition I have currently configured is the "protocol" field to be RADIUS. Because both the 7921 phones and the client laptops are generating RADIUS requests I can only have one EAP type working depending which rule is at the top. Because the RADIUS protocol field is always matched, requests never get past the first rule.
how I modify the rule to be able to distinguis between VoIP handsets on one WLAN and client laaptops on another so that correct access policy is used for each device?
I purchased the RV180 to replace a dead Linksys BEFVP41 to connect a home office to HQ. The Linksys was configured with three IPSEC tunnels to connect to three different subnets all through the main HQ gateway. Note that each tunnel is independent with its own pre-shared key. I can configure the same tunnels on the RV180, and each one works correctly, but I can only get one to run at a time. I have to disable the other two. Enabling a second tunnel results in the No phase2 handle found error. I could not use the Basic VPN setup as it complains that the remote endpoint is already in use. I had to use the Advanced VPN Setup to create the IKE and IPSEC policies. In a different discussion [URL]
how to properly route multiple external IPs to internal ips assigned to several servers. Where I'm getting a bit lost is that I have two levels of routing - one from the outside into a comcast business class cable modem, which also creates its own internal network. Within that internal network, I have my RV180 router, which creates another separate internal network in which the servers live (don't want the servers to have access to other computers within the Comcast Modem's internal network). I want to map the external ips to servers within the RV180 second level network.
To diagram:
Comcast Cable Modem / RV180 Computer(s) / S1 S2
An internal IP is assigned to the RV180 router. Suppose it is 192.168.1.100.
The cable modem itself supports NAT as well. Do I use NAT twice (on both cable modem and RV180) to route the external IP to S1 and S2?
Or do I modify the routing table on the cable modem? Then use One to One NAT on the RV180 to map the external IPs directly to the internals?
I have an rv180 and I'm trying to setup a custom service that contains both multiple disjoint ports (some UDP some TCP), as well as a TCP port range. This has lead me to a couple of questions.1) Is it even possible to have a single custom service with disjoint ports? Is it just going to be necessary to define multiple partial services for this?2) Is it possible to forward a range of ports? It's clear how to define a service with a port range, but the port forwarding table interface only allows me to select one LAN-side port for any service. Is there a secret notation that I need to do here that will just forward to the same LAN-side port as the WAN-side port---effectively one-to-one NAT forwarding, but just for the selected service?
how are load balancers classified? I did quite a bit a reading on the topic and found that the three basic types are switches, software based and hardware based. But what do global server load balancing, firewall load balancing etc refer to?Are these load balancing methods?
I have a combined modem/router that was supplied to me by my ISP, and I want to connect a second router (Linksys) to it, because we share internet with the backhouse and the one router does not reach far enough. All of the hardware is working, but I cannot get the Linksys router to connect to the internet. Here's the stats:
The main router is a SmartRG, Powered by ClearAccess Model: SR300N I'm not sure what other information here is pertinent.
The secondary router is Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router Model: WRT54G
The main router works without a hitch, so that's not the problem. I have the second router connected through one of the output slots from the main router, into the internet connection slot in the Linksys. Even hardwiring a computer into the Linksys doesn't work, so it seems like the actual router itself isn't connected.
What are the differences between DSL and cable, what makes Cable and DSL diff? How do these different networks work? Also, speed ranges would be great. There's also T1 and T3 and such? How bout those diff kinds of networks?
I have a small wireless network, which consists of three AP1121G with c1100-k9w7-mx.123-8.JEB1 ios and one 871w with c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T1. I've configured two different ssid's with individual authorisation types - ssid_1 with eap, ssid_2 with wpa. All three ap's works as it should be, but 871w authorises only eap connections, and all other types are rejected
I have a belkin wireless router and want to block the ability to download .exe and .zip files on my kids computers. Is this possible to block file downloads on only a few machines on my home network?
My wife's laptop will disconnect from our ATT Netscape router/dsl modem. The error we get is that the "security types do not match" ultimately we have to reboot the router and then her laptop will connect for a while. (we do not have this problem with any other devices that use this wifi connection.
Whenever I add devices in CiscoWorks and do not manually specify the device type. CiscoWorks find itself wrong device types for it, For example I have found that mostly it classify WS-C3750-48PS-S as below device types; [code]
Also found that WS-C3560-24PS-S discovered as 7600 series routers.

I'm having a problem with my PlayStation and Xbox online gaming. my NAT types are too strict to play some games at all and when i set up my network connection i have a NAT type 3. I am not very handy with networking to fix my problem.
how i can configure a second ssid for guest access in our environment. this is our network setup prior to this request: Internet----Firewall (not ASA)---ce520---C1131AG and CME router is also connecting to the ce520 switch. we only have two vlans: one for voice and two for data.
Presently, there is no vlan configured on the AP because it on broadcasting ont ssid and wireless users gets IP from a windows DHCP server on the LAN. the configuration on the ce520 switch port for the AP and other switches say access vlan is the DATA vlan which automatically becomes the native vlan for all trunk port connecting the AP and other Stiches to the network.
Now with this new requirement, i have made my research and i have configured the AP to broadcast both the production and the guest Vlans. The two vlans are 20-DATA and 60-Guest. I made the DATA vlan on the AP the native vlan since the poe switch is using the DATA vlan as native on the trunk ports. I configured the firewall to serve as DHCP server for the guest ssid and i have added the ip helper-address on the guest vlan interface on all switches while the windows server remains the dhcp server for the production DATA Vlan. I have confirmed that the AP, switches can ping the default gateway of the guest dhcp server which is another interface on the firewall. I can now see and connect to all broadcasted ssids but the problem is I am not getting IP addresses from both the production dhcp server and guest dhcp server when i connected to the ssid one at a time. My AP config is attached below.
Do i need to redesign the whole network to have a native vlan other nthan the data vlan? Does the access point need to be aware of the voice vlan? Do the native Vlan on the AP need to be in Bridge-group 1 or can i leave it in bridge-group 20?
My question is if I can configure 3 ssid, for 3 different VLAN and add the DHCP address from a WAP4410N AP, when you upgrade to the latest version of IOS I can have this functionality?
I am trying to build a new network from scratch, I have the WLC 5508 w/ Aironet 3600e APs connected to my Netgear Smart Switches and a Linksys RV082 router that I'm using as my DHCP server with several VLANs for several stuff on my Switches.
I have 2 questions:
1. Can I have 5 Interfaces configured on 5 different VLANs, each SSID on each a different Port:
Port 1: Controller management only=> 192.168.x.x /24 Port 2: SSID 1: WiFi Internal=> 172.16.x.x/12 (Radius Auth with no sharing) Port 3: SSID 2: WiFi Internal w/ sharing=> 192.168.x.x/24 (Radius Auth with sharing) Port 4 :SSID 3: WiFi Guest=> 10.0.x.x/8 (Web Auth) Port 5: SSID 4: WiFi IT=> 192.168.x.x/24 ( Radius or certificate Auth with access to the controller management interface)
2. How can I use the Controller as the DHCP server for all the WiFi traffic, and how should that be configured to work with my other DHCP server?
i`m facing a problem configuring the mentioned access point to act as stand alone access point with multiple SSID assigned to differnet VLANs the problem is that
1) i`m not able to broadcast the both SSIDs in the same time from the Access point
2) i need to make the radius server to manage the SSID access for the wireless clients (trying to find a way in which the aceess point sends a log for the radius server containing the VLAN id /IP address of the the SSID) you may find the below info about the IOS ver. & the configuration?
I have an RV180 VPN router.I try to enable the VPN users with PPTP or QuickVPN but is not working. For PPTP sometimes my windows 7 connects to the router, sometimes doesn't connect with a random error message. When it connects, the windows 7 from outside the lan can see the computers from inside the lan but the computers from inside the lan cannot see the windows7 one. This is random also. When i succed to connect, from that computer, the internet is not working anymore.I tried to set the VPN in the same subnet as lan, i tried with different subnet. Is not working.I updated the last firmware. The same.Restore factory settings couple of times, the same.
I noticed if you add more than 10 access rules to the Access Rule table, you are unable to reorder past the first 10.Steps to reproduce:Create 11 rules of the same stream direction, outbound or inbound (...I found the bug with outbound, did not test inbound).try to reorder one of the first 10 rules to the end of the list, either by entering "11" manually, or by pressing the down arrow.System responds that "11" is an invalid number, or that the rule cannot be moved. This issue is not reported in the "Known Issues" section of the release notes for 1.0.1.9.
Which vpn client to use on os x ? (the one included in os x or another?) Which VPN configuration to use on RV180 ? and Which ports to open on RV180 Firewall ? (or any other parameters)
In both cases above, after I started to suspect QOS, I entered a narrow IP range to test and then a MAC to test. Using a VLAN seems to work fine and generate no errors - even a VLAN for the same associated host(s).
I have a support case open about this - didn't get too far yet, but now with a better repro, maybe they will.
I currently have an RV180 in a small business set-up and curently being accessed remotely by laptops (Quick VPN) and Ipads/Android ICS tablets (PPTP). All is working well but I've become concerned about the security risks of PPTP and would like to shift the tablets to IPSec.
1) For a small business are the PPTP risks real?
2) What are the alternatives for Android ICS? I can't find a Quick VPN client for Android.
3) I can't get the core IPSec VPN in Android to connect to the RV180? Is this possible?

I have RV180 configured with two VLANs. First VLAN is untagged and second VLAN is tagged. The purpose is two have two subnets, with the second subnet used for guest access. Both VLANs have DHCP server enabled. First VLAN is 192.168.1.0/24 and the second VLAN is 192.168.2.0/24, When I connect a computer with untagged Ethernet interface, it gets an IP address from DHCP server on the first subnet i.e. 192.168.1.100 and it can successfully access Internet. When I connect a computer with tagged Ethernet interface (I am using VLAN ID 10), it gets an IP address from DHCP server on the second VLAN i.e. 192.168.2.100. So far so good. I can successfully ping hosts on the Internet i.e. ping www.google.com. But I cannot access Internet from the web browser. I captured Wireshark trace and here is what I see...
1. TCP SYN. Source IP 192.168.2.100, destination IP A.B.C.D. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10) 2. TCP SYN ACK. Source IP A.B.C.D, destination IP 192.168.2.100. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10) 3. TCP ACK. Source IP 192.168.2.100, destination IP A.B.C.D. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10) 4. TCP Data. Source IP 192.168.2.100, destination IP A.B.C.D. Ethernet frame has VLAN tag (VLAN ID 10) 5. TCP Data. Source IP A.B.C.D, destination IP 192.168.2.100. Frame is untagged
The problem is at #5. Packet came back from the Web Server. RV180 properly NATed it to the local IP address. But it did not add VLAN tag.
I just recieved a new RV180 yesterday and it will not connect to my switch. Router was updated to the newest firmware, reset to factory settings. I did change the ip and ip range. Router works fine with one computer attached direct. As soon as I connect my sf300-24P to it, the WAN and LAN lights all light up and then go out. Only the WAN will light back up. I have no connectivity to the router. I plug the laptop to the router directly and no LAN lights come on and can not see the router with arp -a.
