My wife's laptop will disconnect from our ATT Netscape router/dsl modem. The error we get is that the "security types do not match" ultimately we have to reboot the router and then her laptop will connect for a while. (we do not have this problem with any other devices that use this wifi connection.
View 1 RepliesI have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.

Comcast service went down in our neighborhood and when it came back up my internet was down and all five LED lights on my Linksys router are solid green. Tech support tells me that I have to reset the unit to get it to function again.It's been a very long time since I set up the home network and while I'm pretty sure I can make my way through setting up from scratch (I'm assuming resetting goes back to factory settings) I was hoping there was a way to reconnect the router to the modem while retaining all the current security and settings.

even though I have successfully added the network manually, using the same settings as my other laptop which has no trouble connecting. So now, the network appears in my "Connect to a wireless network" box, but whenever I try to connect, it says "Windows cannot connect to *name of network*" So when I troubleshoot the problems, it states "Check your wireless settings. Make sure your computer is in range of *Network* and that the network settings match the wireless router or access point settings." I KNOW it's in range because my other computer is connected properly right next to this one. So it must be a problem with my network settings. Though I don't see how that can be because my settings on both computers are exactly the same, but one's connected and one's not. Could the problem simply be that I haven't logged on to my router online to add this computer to the network?

The main router is a SmartRG, Powered by ClearAccess Model: SR300N I'm not sure what other information here is pertinent.
The secondary router is Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router Model: WRT54G
The main router works without a hitch, so that's not the problem. I have the second router connected through one of the output slots from the main router, into the internet connection slot in the Linksys. Even hardwiring a computer into the Linksys doesn't work, so it seems like the actual router itself isn't connected.

I have one access service configured to allow PEAP and authenticate against AD and another access service configured to allow EAP-FAST and authenticate the 7921 phones against the "internal user" database.
I have configured 2 service selection rules. Each one points to one of the access services. The only condition I have currently configured is the "protocol" field to be RADIUS. Because both the 7921 phones and the client laptops are generating RADIUS requests I can only have one EAP type working depending which rule is at the top. Because the RADIUS protocol field is always matched, requests never get past the first rule.

The pointer on the lap top does not line up with the desktop, because the screen is shifted, but only a portion of the screen is visible anyway. I used the same password and log in on both computers, don't know if they have to be different.There is full a screen option at the top right, but this causes the top tabs and info buttons on the left side to go black.
