Cisco Wireless :: Make WAP4410 Fall Under Two Ip Address Ranges?

Apr 24, 2011

I am wondering if I can make our WAP4410 fall under two ip address ranges. I want to have a network for the office users and one for the guest users. We currently use a Safe@Office500WP Checkpoint router. It allows us to create multiple network ranges. We have the office users wireless under 192.168.0.1 ip range and the Guest Wireless is under the 192.168.200.1 range. Do I need two access points or can this be done with just the one?

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410 Doesn't Just Make A Universal Power Injector

Oct 10, 2011

Contrary to the information contained in the link above, these two parts do not play well together. I purchased both and plugged them in and no go. It doesn't even light anything on the WAP. It worked fine when it was on its own 12V DC adapter but not plugged into this injector. What I don't understand is why Cisco doesn't just make a Universal power injector that is essentially a 1 port switch and is 802.3af or 802.3at compatible. Its maddening. It looks like I'm going to have to get an SD208P and waste 6 ports just to get one with the correct POE for the WAP4410.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410 Acting As Repeating - Missing Modes

Jan 22, 2012

Currently I have an almost pure N environment, with the exception of 1 printer. My primary router is a WRVS400N v2, and the WAP 4410N is acting as a repeater.  On the WRVS400N I have the option og g/n Mixed (which is what I use), but this option is not available to me with the WAP4410N.It seems like the WAP4410N is taking an all or nothing approach, as each speed is idividually available, or ALL speeds are available.What I would like to know is if this oversight will be resolved in a fufute firmware release so I can have both devices configured equally?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 10.2.2.2 / Can Use Standard ACL In Route-map For BGP Fall-over

Jan 22, 2012

I haven't got time to test different configurations yet. Just want to quickly ask here about the fall-over route-map configuration. I saw lots of example using pip prefix-list to specify the next-hop for tracking. Is that the only way you can do it? Can you just use a standard ACL to specify that host like permit host 10.2.2.2? ip prefix-list will do like ip prefix-list seq 5 permit 10.2.2.2/32. And you apply the prefix-list to route-map then. ACL will work?

Then I configured Windows Authentication to ask for credentials (popup window). But I experience network disconnection when I login with a local account even though I entered correct AD credentials.I want to do the following: for an account that exist on the machine being authenticated (non-AD account), ACS should check its local database and reply with authentication success if it finds it, so the user is granted network connectivity.I heard about Identity Sequence in ACS. But I still don't see the right configuration,

D-Link DIR-655 :: How To Make Sure PC Only Use 1 Assigned IP Address

Feb 6, 2011

I have set up DHCP reservations to assigned IP addresses based on MAC address. I have to block my kids access at times, and when I do this they simply change their IP address and they circumvent the blocking.Other than punishing the kids (which hasn't worked  - and they need computers and Internet for homework), is there anyway to lock a computer to MAC address to IP address so if they change it they won't get network/internet access?I also tried to set up network filtering and I put in all the PCs and devices I wanted to provide access for, including the router, but when I save changes I can no longer access the internet or the router. I have to do factory reset to get back into router config.Also, I'm on 1.30WW. I know 1.34 exists, which I tried on a previous router which died and was replaced by RMA; but this didn't solve any problems.

Cisco Routers :: WAP4410 Dropping Connections

Aug 10, 2011

Model: WAP4410N-A V02
Firmware version: 2.0.3.3

Deployed 3 of these as WAPs. No repeaters. They are spaced at least 50 feet apart over three offices, each in a server or switch room.

Across multiple laptops, and multiple WAPS, the wireless will function fine for a while with good bandwidth..then the connection will simply drop. By simply resetting the connection on the laptop or turning the wireless off then on, the connection typically returns, at least for a period of time before it drops again.

I’ve tried these configured as three separate SSIDs on identical channels, as well as one SSID for all three with different channels (preferred for a seamless wireless), and the behavior does not change either way.Based on some other threads, I tried forcing the LAN port speed to 100 mbps, but the problem persists.

Cisco Firewall :: 891w - Web Filtering For IP Ranges?

Feb 24, 2011

Alright, well I have a Cisco 891w router and have just about everything up and ready to deploy. I'm primarily using Cisco CP 2.4 to provision the router with minor tweaks being done in the CLI. I want to set up a filter to allow access to roughly 20 websites for the majority of my network which is all on the same VLAN. The ip ranges are x.x.x.10 - x.x.x.169 which I have set into a Network Object group called limitac. The second group ranges at x.x.x.170 - x.x.x.199 and is called allowac. I have set up DHCP bindings for all the devices that will connect to the network but I want to set up a web filter for only the first group. I cannot seem to find anything in the Cisco CP manual or the IOS manual for setting up filtering for a range of IPs only. Primarily there are a few computers that need full access to the web while the others should only have access to the sites I set up in the filter.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 870 12.4 - Forwarding UDP Port Ranges

Jan 2, 2013

I feel like this has probably been asked a thousand times over, but it doesn't seem to work for me. TCP works fine. I can't find any definitive answers, I'm still a novice with the IOS.

The purpose behind opening the ranges of UDP ports to the interface and forwarding is because the people in question want to run a VOIP phone from their home, but they have a home grade Internet connection, so therefore no static IP. Also, they're not going to pay for a router to create a S2S VPN.

Also, from one of the remote sites for which there is a VPN ( the 192.168.6.X/24 site), the audio is only one way. The phone guy says "i need to open ports both way through the VPN), but I feel like that's already been done??

For my other site ( 192.168.15.0/24 ) I have an IPSEC over GRE tunnel going, I don't know about the status of the voice phone there..or if its even made it there

Here's my config...i'm redacting things like public IP's, VPN keys, and the like

D-Link DIR-655 :: Access Control Policies IP Ranges?

Jan 9, 2010

I'm trying to block internet access to a range of IP addresses using the Access Control function of the DIR-655 router. Unfortunately, the router does not allow me to block a range of IPs. Instead, I can only create policies based upon individual IPs or MAC addresses. I have over 60 machines I want to block Internet access and I'd hate to have to type them in individually. How do I go about blocking all Internet access (HTTP/FTP/email/everything) for a range of IP addresses? They will have to be able to continue to use the internal LAN.
