Cisco Switching/Routing :: SF300 - Port Security / Possible To Disable?
Aug 2, 2012I have several SF300 switches deployed (SF300-08, SF300-24P). They are connected to IP Telephones (NEC) which communicate with the switch for auto voice VLAN on LLDP. The problem I am experiencing is that periodically the IP telephones are rebooted by the telephone vendor and when they do the switch puts that port into "Locked" port security mode and discards all traffic to the port. The IP telephones of course do not work. In other switch models, I have seen the ability to enable / disable port security switch wide or on a port by port basis. This model does not appear to have this feature. How to disable or why the phones would cause the switch ports to "lock"? There is usually one PC attached to each phone.

HSRP - When HSRP standyby changes are detected
I need to receive emails with any of the able are triggered. What is the easiest way to do this? I know SNMP is the main option but I have never worked with SNMP and dont understand it too much.

I want to make a dedicated server with UT3.I tried many things like disabled all security in the router or disable UPNP, fowarding every ports that Unreal Tournament need or DMZ settings. I am running a batch file to start the dedicated server... but still have '' Nat is now strict'' in the log of my batch file. I cant see my server in the master server list inside the UT3 game. I tried to make the server without my router, directly connected to the modem and then it works instantly.

Oct 1, 2012I understand that Cisco have at long last provided a facility to separate HTTP web authentication from HTTPS WLC management on WLC code 7.2.x for the new 5500 series WLCs.
My question is does Cisco intend to provide the same much needed functionality on the 4400 series WLCs that are running 7.0.x code? I was looking through the release notes for v7.0.235.3 code and that did not seem to mention this functionality. I know we can get around the problem by purchasing an SSL certificate so that guest users with web authentication do not have to see the same security warning each time they log in but the idea to separate the HTTP web authentication from HTTPS WLC management seems so much simpler.

I have disabled the multicast globally from CLI. config network multicast global disabled
disabling the multicast so that i can set the access point in HREAP mode.

Jan 14, 2013I just setup my homelab today, after having Cat5e installed so I can run my servers and network equiptment over wired network as well as setting up a wireless system. I got everything setup and its going great I can access everything from my office now including a E4200 Linksys router that I setup to do RiP (was only choice pretty much, or NAT), and my 891 Cisco Router which is my internet connection.
I use to have the linksys setup to do port forwarding but now I need to figure out how to do it on the cisco 891 router via command line.
Below is my current configuration. I need to be able to access my server which is behind my router by Remote Desktop. I also have a web server, and the kids also play minecraft, and have a server setup so I need to be able to forward their port as well.

Also he has "interface Dialer1 6881" again after the port in the second and third row. I dont really understand what they have there. I understand basic access list and such though I am extremely rusty.

Cisco WAN :: Lacp Alternative For Port Channel On 12000 Series Router?
Jan 23, 2012I found the following on the link bundling page for the 12000 series router:"In both EtherChannel and POS channel link bundles, the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) for signalling and the 802.3ad protocol for automatic negotiation of the channel are not supported. This means that in order for the channel between two routers to be active, you must disable signaling on switches (such as the Cisco 6500/7600 Series) in the channel, and configure the switches in ON mode."
So, my question is, if lacp isn't supported, is there another way to mimic its functionality on a 12000 series router? I want to connect 2 routers together with a port channel that will pass through our layer 2 network, and I want to make sure that any failures in the path will shut down the affected link on both routers.
Disable Security Enabled Wireless?
Feb 1, 2011We have a standard modem/wireless setup that has worked fine for years. Last month, my sister brought her laptop over and, for some unknown reason, choose "set up a connection or network" and unknowingly changed the setup to a security enabled network. I have no idea why she couldn't just log on without any problem. She has the same modem at her house, and I have no problem logging on at her house. Anyway, it now asks for a password, and she swears she never entered one. I can go online if I plug in an ethernet cord but that means my laptop can only go online at my desk. And I cannot use the internet features on my ipod touch. Is there a way to reset the modem back to a regular unsecured setup?

Sep 27, 2012I have 3 4400 WLC's that implemented at 1 main site within a mobility group. I am looking at implementing wired guest authentication with a splash page for username and password access. I have followed the documents and suggestions about how to configure it. I created a layer 2 vlan (700) and then created a VLAN (151) that wired guests will get an IP address from. I then configured a WLAN with the ingress interface being VLAN 700 and the egress interface being VLAN 151.
All of my controllers are running code 7.0.116.0. When I go to do a test scenario with a wired client, I have the switchport setup for VLAN 151, which they get an IP address from, but when they try to go to the Internet, they don't get the splash page. Why I am not getting a splash page or even if this scenario is possible?

Nov 20, 2012I'm using PfSense 2.0.1. What im trying to do is connect to a game server I have running here in my house. I can connect to it locally with 192.168.8.6 no problem. I have it port forward correctly so that the rest of the world can connect to it via my WAN ip address. The problem comes is I want to be able to connect to it with my WAN address so that if someone decides to follow me STEAM will show my WAN address not my internal IP address of the server im connected to. I have "Disable NAT Reflection for port forwards" UNCHECKED which is what I am supposed to do according to documentation from PfSEnse. But it still doesn't seem to work.

It's different every time I apply the config to the same group of ports. However if I do them one at a time it seems to work. But I really don't want to configure 6 fully populated switches one port at a time. We also have a lot of 3750's and they gave me no problem using a port range. [code]
