I am trying to enable LLDP in sps224g4 switch. console# sh verSW version 1.0.2 ( date 18-Nov-2008 time 12:38:16 )Boot version 1.0.2 ( date 13-Nov-2007 time 14:11:51 )HW version 00.03.00 While there is snmp lldp oids, and I can snmpwalk and snmpset them, no matter what I do switch neither send nor recieves LLDP TLVs, and all LLDP related fields for ports stays at 0 LLDP packets send/recieved or empty.
during using switches Linksys sps224g4 faced with the following problem.
When the end user is connected in 100 Mbps port of the switch and rtt more than 10 ms to a remote server, the download speed from server in one stream does not exceed 2.5 MBWhen rtt less than 5 ms, the download speed in the one stream 11 MB.
When switching user from 100Mbps to 1Gbps port, download speed from remote server grows up to 11-14 MB.When we connect user to 100Mbps port of another manufacturer switch in one stream download speed reaches 10MB.
Tried to configure next parametrs:
1. Checked for firmware 1.0.2 and 1.0.6, the situation is identical. 2. Enable, disable negotiation on the client port. 3. Turn on / off qos. 4. Turn on / off flow-control. 5. Turn on / off jambo-frame (I do not know how it could have an influence, just in case). 6. During traffic analizing on the users port were found no differences between downloading from servers with rtt 5 and 35 ms.
Running the newest firmware available $ show version SW version 1.1.2.0 ( date 12-Nov-2011 time 23:34:26 ) Boot version 1.0.0.4 ( date 08-Apr-2010 time 16:37:57 ) HW version V01
This is how I can cause the reboot to happen every time.

Does the WAP4410N access point for Small Businesses support any Discovery Protocol like Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) or Link-Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP), both for sending and receiving frames? I did an extensive search on the manuals and I was unable to find it
I have more than 20 SF 300-24P 10/100 Managed Switch switches deployed and running in my office network. All these switches have web configuration utility enabled. We would like to enable telnet too. But for this I know I have to visit site to site, connect the switch manually with a laptop and enable telnet option. I am looking for how can I enable telnet in these switches using web-based switch configuration utility.
we have some 2960 in my company and i'm looking to implement LLDP on them. But some are older than the other.tell me from which IOS the lldp is available ?
I have applied port security in one cisco switch and i have enabled port security in one port.I have applied port security as sticky and applied "restrict" on violation of the portsecurity. Now i have connected a PC to that switch port. Later i have connected another PC. The packets got dropped. But when i connected the original PC again, the packets flow started again. So, i have a doubt. Will the packet flow get establish, when the original PC is connected again to a port which is applied with port security violation "Restrict"?
We have acquired a cisco sge 2010 to replace our distribution switch. I set up the 802.1X network. Everything works great except I can not find how to enable 802.1x with 'Wake on LAN' on this kind of switch.
On catalyst I saw that it was sufficient to activate this control "authentication control-direction {both | in}" Except that it seems not to exist on this switch. Is there another way to enable 802.1x on WoL without using this command?
Or how to allow the magic packet (WoL) on a tagged port by unauthorized 802.1x?
I'm trying to setup an ACL on my SG300-20 to enable FTP and a few other protocols to a server, but I'm running data that returns on different ports (ie active FTP).
Below is a sample: ------------------------------------------- Extended IP access list Protocol_Restriction permit tcp any ftp any any -------------------------------------------
Now that works great to allow a connection, but with active ftp when the data tries to come back on a different port (I assume) it is just hung up as all other ports are denied.
I event tried allowing all ports to come back from the server: ------------------------------------------- Extended IP access list Protocol_Restriction permit tcp any ftp any any permit ip any host 192.168.0.100 -------------------------------------------
But that also didn't work seem to work.
I've played around with this in layer2 and layer3 to no avail. I've also seen many tips on applying in and out to the various interfaces, but that doesn't seem to work. Is that something that is only available on higher end switchers/firewalls?
I just want the switch to be quiet so that I can perform some network testing with only the connected hosts showing up in my traffic analysis program. But every 30 seconds or so the switch sends out an LLDP packet. This switch is only used in the lab for running tests so I know I don't need the LLDP feature running.
This article explains how to disable LLDP globally on a Catalyst switch, but I can't find any option to disable LLDP in the SGE2000's configuration menus.
I'm seeing several error messages like these in the logs of my Nexus 5548UP switches.

I will say that these 5548s are serving as the distribution layer for a UCS chassis (2x 6120 FIs) but didn't know what kind of visibility the Nexus would have into that - the chassis keyword is what's alluding to this in my mind, and I'm seeing these messages whenever interfaces that connect downstream to the fabric interconnects are brought up or down.
I recently purchased an SG300-28P. I have 2 VLANS/subnets that are successfully routing between them.Machines on both sides can ping each other just fine, but none of the usual Windows/NetBIOS browsing is possible. I've recently learned that NetBIOS is not usually forwarded between subnets. How would I enable NetBIOS packet forwarding between my subnets?
Reading the manual, it seems like enabling UDP Relay might be the answer but I've been unable to get it to work (same with DHCP relay).
I'm trying to configure LLDP-MED between a Cat45010+E Sup7 (IOS 15.1) and Polycom CX600 Lync phones. I have created and applied the correct network policy for the interfaces.
From these sites, I need to send all the correct TLVs or the phones won't respond: {URL}.
When a scour the config of the switch, I can't find any related configuration commands relating to the specific LLDP-MED TLV components which are enabled/disabled. Where are they hiding? I would like to confirm which TLVs are being sent by my switch and if they are matched to the phone. I can always use the DHCP method, put this is not preferred.
We are currently migrating from Cisco 6500 switches to Nexus 7000 switches. I need replicate the following multicast configuration on the 6500 switches in the simplest way so Multicast is functioning on the Nexus 7000 switches.
Cisco 6500 configuration.
ip multicast-routing interface Vlan8 description ip address 10.128.46.2 255.255.240.0
[code]....
how we can enable multicast on the Nexus 7000 switches in the simplest form so this will continue operating.
If I have two stackable switches one switch uplinks to one 6509 core switch and the other connection uplinks to another 6509 core switch, and also the other stackable switch does not connect to the core switches. Because I am using hsrp and also we are not using vss then one uplink to the core is not in used only ones is so then how does creating an etherchannel between does two uplinks to both core switches benefit me in anyway such as more bandwith and using both uplinks at the same time or I'm I wrong?
Vlan 10 is the management VLAN, and it uplinks to our border router.Vlan 20 is the workstation VLAN, and all workstations point to the switch as their default GW? Vlan 30 is the ip phone VLAN, and all phones use this as their gateway.
I would like to put a LAG between said switches, we have some servers on the ip phone switch that need to be accessed by the workstation clients, and the single 100mb link through the router is probably not going to be enough. As I understand it, because the switches have different networks on them, a simple lag will not work. I did create a lag, and assign ip addresses to each side, however in that mode, it doesn't appear I can block vlan 10 from transiting the LAG, and with out that block I will end up with a logical loop, and spanning-tree will block one of the uplinks, or the LAG itself.
If I have two stackable switches were only one stackable switch has two uplinks one uplink goes to one core 6509 switch and the other uplink goes to the other 6509 core switch can a Layer 3 etherchannel be used if each uplink go to a different core switch, by the way hsrp is running between both switches and also can you give an example how data will be routed from the stackable switch through the ethernetchannel to one of the core switch accross the WAN to another core switch?
I have a stack of 6 switches and I want to add another over the gbit connector using fiber. I already connected but I can acces the network from the new switch. I don't have any issues on my Stack all resources are available Do I need to do some special setup or connection to enable this? Can be stacked like the others? I already usen the 2 stacking port can i Add another switch?
we just received 5 new SF200-48 Smart Switches for small business. I noticed only way I can configure them is by using the web gui. Is there a way to enable good old CLI?
now we have 2 switches: SF300-24..on one SF300-24 we config it at layer 3 mode with VLAN configuration same as following [code] And we use port 26 on 2 switches SF300-24 is trunk mode then we connect both SF300-24 switches. But on SF300-24 layer 2 cann't inderstand VLAN from Sf300-24 layer 3..How to config VLAN on 2 switches SF300-24 Layer 3 and SF300-24 layer 2?
I was looking for configuring QOS for two VLANS i have created. these will be for voice traffic vlan 22 and video traffic vlan23. i also have three other vlans for pc's, wireless devices and our cnc machines. we have 5 switches that are all SG30028P's with a single switch doing the intervlan routing (operating at layer 3). all of the switches are trunked back to the main switch and ive been through the guide written on how to do this on a single switch which i dont think is layer 3.
I'm replacing 2 3COM 4500 Swithes with the SG300-52 Cisco switch. We have 3 VLANs, 10, 20, 100. The switch is set for Layer 3 and I have setup DHCP relay. what settings i should set on the Cisco for the following setups:
I'm setting up an SNMP poller to retrieve the ARP table (ipNetToMediaPhysAddress) from my SF300 switches. I can retrieve the table from SF300-24P and SF300-48P switches running Firmware Version 1.0.0.27, but get garbage for the MAC address when retrieving that same table on the same model switches running Firmware Version 1.1.1.8. Is there an outstanding defect on this code level? How can I retrieve the table showing the IP address to MAC address mappings?
We have several of the SG300 Serices switches. We use them to route VLAN traffic to Remote Offices, Internet Connections, and WiFi Access Points. In one remote office we have a SG300-10 setup to route the HQ Network and the remote Office Subnet. The SG300 is Connected to HQ via Fiber and has multiple Tagged VLANs on it. If I do speed tests over the Fiber Link on the Incoming Tagged Netwotk I get Decent performance, 80Mbs. If I switch to a networtk that is not priginating from HQ, and have the SG300-10 route packet, I get dismal performance. 15-20Mbs.
I Fireded up a New SG300-28P FW v1.2.7.76. Added a the HQ VLAN 101 and new VLAN 1025 . Mapped some Tagged and untagged ports for each. Switch was connected to HQ Network as untagged VLAN 101. I put a laptop on an Untagged VLAN 101 port. Ran some tests, cam back with 750-850Mbs. Great. Put the same laptop on a Tagged 101 Port, Configured the NIC for Tagged VLAN 101, Same test, same Speeds, 750-850Mbs.I then Configured laptop for Tagged VLAN 1025. Connected to tagged VLAN 1025 port. Ran speed tests, resuts were 15-20Mbs!
I then Configured laptop for Untagged VLAN 1025. Connected to unagged VLAN 1025 port. Ran speed tests, resuts were 15-20Mbs!It was only the Laptop and the Connection to the HQ net on the SG300-28P. Why is the performance of this unit soooooo poor when it needs to route?Other Switches have FW v1.0.0.27 or FW v1.1.2.0. They have Similar speed issues. All Configured for Layer 3.
