View 1 Repliesduring using switches Linksys sps224g4 faced with the following problem.
When the end user is connected in 100 Mbps port of the switch and rtt more than 10 ms to a remote server, the download speed from server in one stream does not exceed 2.5 MBWhen rtt less than 5 ms, the download speed in the one stream 11 MB.
When switching user from 100Mbps to 1Gbps port, download speed from remote server grows up to 11-14 MB.When we connect user to 100Mbps port of another manufacturer switch in one stream download speed reaches 10MB.
Tried to configure next parametrs:
1. Checked for firmware 1.0.2 and 1.0.6, the situation is identical.
2. Enable, disable negotiation on the client port.
3. Turn on / off qos.
4. Turn on / off flow-control.
5. Turn on / off jambo-frame (I do not know how it could have an influence, just in case).
6. During traffic analizing on the users port were found no differences between downloading from servers with rtt 5 and 35 ms.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had the switch for about 2 years and recently moved. The manual specifies:
38400 bps and 8-n-1 serial port settings using DB9F to DB9F cable.
I have done this and tried using multiple machines/ports/cables as well as several peices of software (minicom, PuTTy, hyperterminal) and none give me any output from the switch at all.
The trouble is that in its original config, it had 1 port locked into its own VLAN for management with port security and an obscure RFC1918 IP address which I cannot recall for the life of me.
At this point, I have no access to TCP/IP management so serial console is my last hope and is not working.
What kind of cable is required to connect to the Console on a Linksys SRW2024 switch ? ( I've lost the original cable )I use the following settings: Speed 38400, 8 bits, no parity, no flow control and stop bits 1I have tried a serial cable, no go.I have tried a null modem cable with partial handshaking, no go.I have tried a null modem cable with full handshaking, no go.For the null modem cables, if I use it to connect between computers using hyperterminal it works very well. What I type on one computer appears on the other computer's screen. However, I can't get anything out of the switch. I've tried pressing Enter repeatedly, resetting the switch with the Console cable on, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WAG54G2 working fine for more than 2 years now. It has the initial firmware version 1.00.10
Recently I mode it from my home to my store, where I have a already working CCTV setup. Initially the router did not work, but once the service provider removed the mac-id binding (with my previous ADSL2+ router) the WAG54G2 was connecting on DSL. However it never got a DNS value. Currently I am using it with a fixed DNS.
After a few days of working I noticed that my remote viewing for the CCTV was not working. On checking the router settings I saw that the router had defaulted to no settings at all. Changing it back to PPPoE did not work since the page would not render completely. Resetting to Factory settings also did not work. However simply switching off the router and restarting it worked. I let it go then. The same thing happened again within a day or two. Each time restarted the router seemed to solve the problem, however temporarily.
I have the SPI firewall enabled also I have application port forwarding set for HTML port 80 forwarding to say port 1234.
I need to connect to the console port on a cisco firewall, an rj-45 connector. The cable is a rj-45 at one end and a serial on the other. My PC has no serial port and I am unable to use the provided cable to connect to the firewall appliance. Is there software that can allow serial over my PC's Ethernet? I really don't have time to order a serial card for my PC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a host machine (Laptop, Win 7 Home Premium x64) running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on VMWare Workstation 9. I've got this system set up for UMDF driver development, because I need a target machine to debug drivers on. However, because I'm developing drivers for Win 7 (x86 and x64), I cannot connect to the virtual machine on via a simple network connection. Connection methods are outlined here.
I have tried a few different pieces of software (mostly Eltima software), and have Google'd every combination of phrases that I can think of. I can't find any information on this anywhere. I don't just need to share data between the machines, I need a more "physical" connection.
Does any know how to do this, or if there's another (preferably more simple) way of doing it?
How to configure settings for router E4200I live in Finland and bought new Cisco Linksys WAG320n router modem as I am experienced Cisco user. However after spending several hours and setups on the WAG320n router I cannot get it to connect on the ISP ADSL line.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Linksys X3000 to work with my ADSL connection (provider is Singtel from Singapore). I managed to use Cisco connection application to logon and setup the router OK, yesterday. I even connected my PC to the router by LAN, and also a few devices wirelessly. At the end of the day, I switched off everything... but next morning, when I booted up the router, I found that all my devices cannot access internet. Upon checking the server (192.168.1.1), I found that it does not have a IP from Singtel, although on the router the internet symbol (globe sign) is lighted up.I rebooted the router twice, getting the same results (note: I waited for a long time each time, until the globe was lighted up).I disconnected the X3000, and reconnected my Netgear DGN2000. It worked (and retrieved an IP address from Singtel). I then disconnected the Netgear and reconnected X3000. To my surprise, this time X3000 got the IP address and then internet is working again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to use VPN from home to connect to my company. Company IT say that they can see my connection is successful but from home end it appears to fail (timeout). I'm using a CISCO WAG54G2 router. After attempting VPN access I have to re-boot router to establish broadband connection. I have checked Plusnet (ISP) firewall settings as okay (LOW). I have found two CISCO links which describe a similar(?) issue:
[URL]
I reviewed my router's Single Port Forwarding parameter settings in light of info in these links. I then added three new ones: VPN, VPN1, and VPN2 VPN; Internal Port:500; External Port 500; Protocol:UDP; IP:192.168.1.47; Enabled Yes VPN1; Internal Port:4500; External Port 4500; Protocol:UDP; IP:192.168.1.50; Enabled Yes VPN2; Internal Port:10000; External Port 10000; Protocol:UDP; IP:192.168.1.51; Enabled Yes
These changes have not worked but I not yet removed them. My company uses 'Delta VPN' product. No other changes to parameters have been made before or after.
I have a WAG160N wireless router that I want to use to repeat a wireless signal that is delivered by our ISP who installed broadband in our cottage, not our house (long story, we live rurally, so I won’t get into it).
So I understand I can simply plug my Linksys to power and that will pick up the signal inside our house (which it does, and we get an excellent strength signal).I further understand that I have to configure the Linksys so it talks to the modem provided by the ISP and which is about 50 metres awayFrom the Cisco website and my own docs I know the first step is to search the IP address online [url].,..
I have 2 PCs, an Acer H340 and a network printer wired to the WAG320N; two other PCs are connected wireless. On every PC I have Windows 7 and Ubuntu (except the NAS with WHS).When I boot with Ubuntu on every PC, I can print, I can connect to intenet, open the Web interface of the WAG320N at 192.168.1.1 but I CAN'T see the NAS and the other PCs: this with the wired PCs and the WiFi connected ones. A Galaxy Tab can browse the NAS content and the Web.I didn't had this problem with the modem router I had from the ADSL supplier and the Huawei D100 I used before. On the network map of the Cisco Network Magic the Linux PCs are showed connected to the WAG320N with a dotted line, when the W7 ones are connected with a solid line.

View 2 Replies View Related I have X3000 home gateway and very happy with this device. Use it now as ADSL modem/wifi router. Everything works fine but there is something I do not understand about this device. It has 4 LAN ports and a Cable port. Suppose, I am upgraing from a copper service to fibre. Fibre providers comes and installs their fibre box which is kind of a "modem" for fibre technology. how do I connect fibre box to X3000? Do I use Cable port or a LAN port?
As far as I understand the 4 LAN ports work as switch ports (work at OSI level 2, provide access strictly within same subnet, all devices connected to these ports share the same default gateway), and Cable port gets a different IP address via DHCP or another protocol from the fibre box, or directly from ISP (if we have PPPoE or IPoE service as an example). And there would be no point in plugging WAN link into a LAN port as X3000 would not be able to communicate to the gateway on the other end of the cable.
