View 4 RepliesThe power supply on 6509 NEB A is not working with me . I have installed only one power supply on the box WS-CAC-3000W
It is showing me that "Input OK , Output fail " from the LCD
I tried with another WS-CAC-3000W , another power source but still same problem .
After stacking two 3750X switches, with four equal power-supply's, with StackWise and PowerStack , still got the next message every few hours %PLATFORM_ENV-1-FRU_PS_ACCESS: FRU Power Supply is not responding (gn4m-rt1p08-04-2)( note that the message revers to the second switch in the stack ) although the stackwise and powerstack on the switches is oke and are working correctly. !
Config : Stack-power in power-sharing mode/strict With CLI on the switch : All the power supply's and stack-power details, prio look OK.
Only: LMS prime /inventory/cisco-view/configure/power supply status result : some power supply's are marked as disabled.with the command > power supply 2 slot a off/on I manage to get the status back to "normal", but after a few hours some power supply's are again marked as "disabled".
Looks like SNMP en IOS difference from opinion.

In a stand alone 3750x switch configuration, can the secondary power supply only act as a redundant power supply (active/standby), or can it become a "pool" of power similar to power sharing mode for StackPower (somewhat active/active)? I understand there is no stack involved here but I'm curious if this functionality is possible.

While configuring PoE Ethernet EHWIC PoE modules with ISR G2 routers Cisco DCT gives a warning to select AC Power Supply with PoE ‘PWR-3900-POE’. Do we need to select the PoE power supply for Enhanced EtherSwitch SM PoE modules also (at present it does nt show any warnings)?

I was wondering if there was a way to disable the RPS in a 3825? When I do a Sho Env All I get the following;
Redundant Power System is present.
RPS is in standby state
Redundant Power System is present.
RPS is in standby state
How ever there is no RPS in the system. At least not that I know of. There is only one power supply.
clarify whether this statement found after table 4 of the Cisco 819 4G router data sheet truly means that there will be a power supply to support 48VDC in Q1 of 2013? Here is the statement:
"* Future external reference for 24V, 52V, and 72V DC for railway applications Q1CY2013"
Here is the data sheet source:

I would want to power this router from a -48VDC plant, which is common at remote telecom sites.
while the 3560 switch is running? Is it hot-pluggable?
WS-C3560X-48P is the switch and I would be adding a C3KX-PWR-1100WAC
Looking at the specs for the 3750 power supply - is the WS-C3750X-48P-S model with the 715W power supply referring to the amount for both power supplies per switch or just one power supply per switch? Meaning, is the 715 a accumulative number or, just the watts of one power supply. I would like to purchase a 3750x PoE switch with redundant power supplies. If this model is not the correct one?give me the model that offers 48 port PoE with redundant power supplies?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to check if it may be possible to hot-upgrade/swap the 4506E power supplies? Based on the configuration guide; I have summarized the steps as follows:
1. Switch has 2 existing power supplies to be upgraded
2. Remove right side/bay 2 power supply and install new power supply
3. At this point; the new power supply will be in err-disabled due to different power supplies on the switch
4. Remove the left side power supply and install new power supply
For item 4; during the removal of the old power supply in bay 1/left side and installation of the new power supply; I am wondering if the switch would lose power even though the new power supply is installed in bay 2?
I was wondering if I am able to add a redundant power supply to an asr 1001 router that is in production without losing connectivity or causing any diruption to the Users - is it hotswappable?
View 1 Replies View Relatedcan I plug power supply from 4500 to 6500? more specifically we have power supply PWR-C45-1300ACV. And we need to place some power supply to 6500, which has only one active module. So 1300 should be enough for it. But we dont know if they are physically compatible, if it is possible to plug. I didnt find this power supply to be officially?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving a strange issue here with an 7606-s chassis equipped with two sup720's, and two regular line cards. There is only one power supply, PWR-2700-AC. I recently builded this setup and powered it on last week for the first time. It ran fine for about 20 minutes while suddenly the chassis powered down.
I've checked the back of the chassis and noticed that the power supply had it's 'input ok' and 'power fail' led lit. I toggled the power switch and waited half an hour to power it on again. This time only 1 minute of joy. My first idea was the PSU due to the power fail led so I had it swapped by the supplier for another. Unfortunately, when I powered it on today, it didn't change a thing, still unexpected power downs.
So I've checked the following documentation: [URL] and followed the suggestion to power the chassis on without any modules in the slots. So I did that and it ran for 8 minutes only. However, the fan tray did respond properly when I removed the small thermal module in the upper right by increasing the fans to full speed.
Following above documentation, it points to the chassis (there is not much left). Now the real question comes, isn't there anything else that could be the cause of this?
We are getting below errors on our Cisco 4500 Switche PS after Power Down activity.

I have a 3750x 48port POE switch that I installed a second power supply in. But it doesnt power on. Am I supposed to enable it in the switch somewhere? I've plugged it into a couple different outlets so I know that's not the problem.
View 4 Replies View Related When quoting a Catalyst 3750X with PoE (WS-C3750X-48P-E) the Dynamic Configurator Tool allows to include as the secondary power supply option the Catalyst 3K-X 350W AC Secondary Power Supply (C3KX-PWR-350WAC/2), but the default included primary power supply is the Catalyst 3K-X 715W AC Power Supply (C3KX-PWR-715WAC). My questions are the following:
1. Will this combination of power supply work?
2. Will the C3KX-PWR-350WAC/2 be able to power up the switch if the primary power supply of 715W fails?
3. Will the PoE will be lost if the primary power supply fails and only the secondary power supply of 350W keeps working?
4. If this secondary power supply of 350W is not suitable for PoE, why it is available as a secondary power supply option in the Dynamic Configurator Tool for a PoE switch?
I understand that 8700W enhanced AC power supply is Compatible with 6-, 9-, and 13- slot chassis
Based on 8700W Enhanced PS datasheet, it can be installed into existing Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch chassis: both E- and non-E series Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch chassis.
Can we use 8700W enhanced AC power supply with 6513 externally / internally (within one of the chassis slots like 6513-E ?
I need a L2 switch with dual AC power supply and RJ45 uplink The optin I got was WS-C3560X-48T-L + C3KX-PWR-350WAC , but the problem is with uplink . There is no RJ45 1G uplink , there is only option for SFP uplink The another option was WS-C2960G-48TC-L , but there is no dual AC power supply option a good model ( Dual AC power supply , RJ 45 uplink ports (Gig) , with 48 port 100/1000 UTP)

Can I just run "power supply 1 on"? Will this cause the switch to reboot? Also I am concerned because when I do a show env power it shows: [code]
Is it normal for the internal power supply to show Unavail when running off RPS?
I had a bad power surge yesterday that took out a 2960g switch and the APC UPS that it was connected too. when plugged in the fan comes on and the syst light stays amber and the rps, stat, duplex. and speed light stay lit and the port lights for ports 21-24 stay lit. plugging it into the console on boot I cant even see rommon, so i dont think its even booting. I would like to find a pinout and voltage guide for the connector comming off the power supply so I can check the voltages coming off the power supply to tell if it is a bad PSU or if it took out the main board.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find a way using CLI that I can identify the amperage being used by a 6509 chassis. I have looked through all of the sh power and sh env commands and seem to only find the power being used on the DC side (since the output referemces 42V). Ddint know if there was something I was overlooking. To each things from the AC side will take getting an electrician in which is what I was hoping not to have to do.

could an ios upgrade solve this issue? are there any ios related bugs?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get to work Web-based authentication on Catalyst 2960 and 3560 for clients that don't support dot1x. I followed this guide. Here's the problem: Client (win7) joins the network, opens the web browser and tries to navigate to any http site. The switch forces him the "login" page in which he has to enter credentials. After the client enters credentials, the switch sends http 500 internal server error page and nothing happens. Doesn't matter if the credentials were correct or not. Also i checked radius logs for requests, the switch doesn't even ask radius.
