Cisco Switching/Routing :: 887 - How To Restrict Devices Connected To 800 Series Router

I have a Cisco 887M router which I wish to restrict the devices allowed to be connected/allocated an IP address to two, and *only* two.
I can't, for the life of me, find out how to allow these two devices to connect to ANY port - I can configure a MAC restriction on a single port, but I don't know how to make it so that I can allow JUST these two devices to connect to any port in the 4 port switch/VLAN (VLAN 1 is used because the mongrel who set this up was lazy). I know the MAC addresses I want to allow
How I can do this? I *can* restrict any given port to the two MAC addresses - but if I try to add the MAC addresses to another port, they get removed from the initial one. I need to be able to have them connect to ANY port and work, but allow NOTHING else to work.
For those wondering, this is to counter a user who is utilising company resources for purposes not approved - and costing us quite a bit of money in the process.

I wounder if there is any way to ping the local deviceses connected to a network hosted by a Cisco 1921 router? I wan't to be able to ping the device(computer name) but currently cant do that.

In my organization we have several 2950T that conected each other. We have 4 floor with each floor have 1 sw except 4th flr have 3 sw.
Main server, apps, db ( 15 units) connected to core sw at 4th flr. Currently the problem is others devices can't connected to the server at core sw. Test ping and the network to core sw is intermittent problem. When ping 100 times only 30 reply. After 10 minutes the connection restored. Ping 100 times successful. It will not having problem again until the next day. This already happen 3 days. Any command for me to use to check if port or the switch having problem? Any log i can collect

show cdp neighbors command shows two devices connected through the same local port?I have a Cisco 3560 that when I issue the "show cdp neighbors" command I get the following results: [code]
the question is why is this showing that Gig0/3 is being used twice to connect to two different devices. I have verified there is no hub connected to this port and in fact Switch3 is not connected to Switch1 at all yet it still shows up in the CDP table.
I have cleared the CDP table on every device at this location and still get the same results.

In my LAN environment, I'm using two cisco SG300-10 switches. Both switches are connected by GE10 on both switches, where both ports are set to trunk.Now on all ports 1-9 on both switches, I'm having client computers attached. So I set ports 1-9 to "access" mode.All interfaces on any switch is left in default vlan.
Is it normal that I see all traffic from all connected devices on any port where I connect a listening device?What I'd like to achieve is, that only traffic that is meant for a specific workstation is actually forwarded to this workstation. By now it seems that I get all the traffic from everybody.

We have a network of 30 VLANS and currently all the vlans have access to everything. We are using Cisco 6509 switch for Layer3 routing.I would like to prevent some VLANs accessing the server VLANs. How can i resrict access to the server VLANs? Do i need to implement access-lists on the 6500 switch? or do i need to create VLANS on the firewall so that all traffic i filtered?

On a small Bording School we have the students living in several small houses, each equipped with an AP.Each Ap serve 4 Vlans.I want to restrict the switch for these AP, in a way to keep the students from removing the AP and connecting their own equipment.I tried using the secure port feature on the SG300, but that had the result of allowing the AP but denying all the users connected to the AP.The switch is a SG300-28P placed in L3 mode.

I´m facing to one issue with VACL. i have a network lan with 10.40.X.X/16 . in this network i have a Production v LAN 10 with 10.40.10.X/24 and i have created one vlan103 for Guest´ user as 10.40.103.X/24
My goals is to restrict the v LAN 103 to reach or access the v LAN 10, better to restrict Guest user access to the production v LAN. So i try to put this script with VACL method, but does n´t work.
Extended IP access list Restriction-Guest
10 permit ip 10.40.103.0 0.0.0.255 any
vlan access-map Guest 10
action drop match ip address Restriction-Guest
vlan filter Guest vlan-list 10
After that i still able to ping or access to the v LAN 10 form v LAN 103.

I have a Cisco 881 router running 15.1(4)M4. I am trying to configure SPAN on it to mirror my outside interface (source) to one of my LAN interfaces (dest).

As you can see from the above output there is a problem with the command on this interface. When I try to set Fa0 as my source it works fine:
rtr(config)#mon session 1 source int fastEthernet 0

Is this because fa4 is layer 3 and fa0 is a switchport? If so, is there another way to set fa4 as the source?

I have a 2600 Router series and I cannot remember the Password. I have tried following web pages that state to use control Break on the boot up but its not working.can reset that pw and write erase my configuration file?Here is my boot up. I have tried hitting control break at the very beginning over and over and then again when at the cold boot it has not worked....

I just setup my homelab today, after having Cat5e installed so I can run my servers and network equiptment over wired network as well as setting up a wireless system. I got everything setup and its going great I can access everything from my office now including a E4200 Linksys router that I setup to do RiP (was only choice pretty much, or NAT), and my 891 Cisco Router which is my internet connection.
I use to have the linksys setup to do port forwarding but now I need to figure out how to do it on the cisco 891 router via command line.
Below is my current configuration. I need to be able to access my server which is behind my router by Remote Desktop. I also have a web server, and the kids also play minecraft, and have a server setup so I need to be able to forward their port as well.

Also he has "interface Dialer1 6881" again after the port in the second and third row. I dont really understand what they have there. I understand basic access list and such though I am extremely rusty.

I am trying to add WCCP to be configured for websense. My first option seems to be either purchase an IPServices license for the stack of 3750E switches, but i am thinking this will require us to license all three switches in the stack. The second option i am looking at is to do the WCCP configuration on the 2800 router we have on the edge. The problem is both Gig ports are in use, one going to the firewall and the second going to the ISP. My first question would be, which option is better in terms of manging as well as cost of implementing it.The second question is, if WCCP on the router is a better option, what is the add on module i should be looking to get to add the additional ports to hook up the Websense cache.

I've got a problem with DHCP running on a cisco 1900 series router, 1921 to be precise. The Data VLAN works perfectly, i configured a ip helper address and its working. Problem tough is VLAN 20. This is the voice vlan. As u can see in the config below, this has been configured using VRRP and VRF for failover purposes. I did more of these configurations, and they all worked fine, just not with this particular router!
As u will notice i deleted all the not needed to know information or i X'ed it!

I was able to setup my router c819 with Verizon 3G but there is one minor thing that on the console it keeps saying:

The interface Cellluar0 is connected to Verizon 3G network and I'm able to ping and get to the internet just fine. I did few research and some people said it was access list. My ACL is below but I can't find anything wrong with it.

I am setting up a Cisco 1941 series router for our department in Denmark. As we quickly relised we had to reset the router to it's defult settings. As we comunicated with the router thorugh HyperTerminal, the router asked me to restart. After we did so the router only sends encrypted messages wich is unreadable. We neither get any respons in the terminal when we try to write commands back to the router.We have tried to use different terminal programs as well as the USB port on the router.

i have a cisco 1900 series router from the isp and we connect it the our router the rv042 small biz, and we have here a cisco catalyst 2950 switch with just default configuration connected to the hosts.
my problem is from time to time that the connection is lost there is no connection with the router and the only solution is to turn off and on the cisco 1900 router and the connection will be back.
do we need to configure the routers and switches? what do you need to configure?

We have recently implemented Windows Deployment Services on our local network, but everytime we do a multicast image deployment the network get flooded to point of total saturation.
We have Netgear switches and a Cisco 2800 series router. IGMP Snooping has been enabled on all Switches, however, we are unsure on how to implement multicasting on the router.
The whole network is flat - no VLANs over than the default VLAN1. We only want multicasting to work within our local network and does not need to go out the other side of the router as that is the connection to the internet.
How to get the Cisco router configured properly to enable multicasting to not flood the network. It seems that even if we were to image 4 PCs using multicast this is enough to completely get the network flooded.
Also, am I right in thinking that IGMP needs to be enabled on all of the Switches?

My wireless router [Linksys WRT54G] has recently been dropping the connection simultaneously between two desktops. I have one desktop plugged into the router with an enthernet cord, but the other is running a wireless card. I recently got a Windows notice stating that there is an IP address conflict between my two computers. I check my IP addresses using my ipaddress.com and both computers are sharing the same IP address. I also checked the connection with my smartphone and when I am connected to the internet through my wireless; it gives me the same IP address as well. So, every device I'm using through my router is giving the same IP address at my ip address.com. I'm assuming this may be what is occasionally knocking my router offline, causing me to have to reset, but it will knock both computers offline within a few minutes of resetting.
I believe that all 3 devices should have different IP addresses when connecting to the internet, so is this a setting I need to adjust in the router, and if so where do I go, or can I try to assign one of my desktop computers a new IP address? I have no idea why my smartphone would be using the same IP address when connected through the router either. I'm going to guess that the problem is with a setting within my router.

What's happened is that after transferring my old PC's data onto my new one, and putting that one in place of my old one, therefore hooking up my modem to it, my wireless devices have been having trouble connecting to the router. Everything's hooked up fine, and it was working perfectly before, but now my devices such as my laptop and Droid Pro can SEE the router (As in connect to it and say that they are getting excellent signal strength), but when I try to open my browser, it asks as if I'm not connected to anything at all. The PC that's wired to the modem through the router works fine, however.
