Apr 19, 2013I have two 2960-s switches with GLC-FE-100FX fibre modules in and I am seeing packet loss over the link that is connected to the modules. When the interface is shutdown and brought back up it always comes up in half duplex even thought it is set to full in the config. I've seen other posts where you have to use the command no duplex then full duplex to get it to come up int full duplex. This does appear to work when I do a show int it says its full duplex however I'm stil seeing 20 - 40% packet loss on the link which suggests to me there is still a speed/duplex issue. The device at the other end is a Cisco 7200 which is set to 100Full. If I plug a Cisco 2811 into the fibre link I get zero packet loss which suggests its a problem with the switch.
I have changed the modules and fibre cables which makes no difference. As I stated at the start I have two 2960's both are showing exactly the same issue. Details of the switch are below the SFP are cisco branded:

Feb 27, 2013I got new internet last Thursday. It is fiber optic through VTX1. I am running windows 7. I can connect to the internet just fine directly but when I try the netgear it tells me No Internet Connection. When I go through the setup process it tells me No Ethernet Cable is Plugged Into The Router Internet Port. When I hook up my very old Cisco router the internet and Wi-fi work just fine. All I know is that they can carry data at high bandwidth for a long range at blazing speeds etc.My boss has asked me to link several buildings to the network and I am led to believe that joining them through fiber optics to be best since we are expecting a lot of data traffic between.I have done the normal RJ-45 networking with Gigabit networking in my organisation but need your assistance on how to join each of the buildings through fibre optics.Draw up the fiber optic lines from the main building to each building.All the buildings have Gigabit Cat6e cabling and network in each.I am planning on using a single mode media converter to convert the end of the fibre optic to the normal RJ45 connector and plug it to each switch at each of the ends of the fiber optic cable .I don't even know the gadgematics required except for the cables them selves, crimping tools, the media converter. There is about 300-400 metres in between of each building from the main building.Also, I believe that we need to create cross over cables as in the normal way we do in connecting 2 switches.

Apr 15, 2012I have a 2821 Router, with a VWIC2-2MFT card in it, with two T1s going into that card. The two T1s are a bundled MPLS line.
I then have a cable modem connection going into the gigabit Ethernet GE 0/1 port on the router.
Right now, the cable modem provides a backup connection in case the T1s go down.
What I was wondering is if there was a way to 'combine' the bandwidth from the two T1s with the cable modem?

Apr 3, 2012Basically I run 3 voice gateways on 2821 routers. In two of my routers I've had fan failures, one router has had two fans die and one has had just the one.
I was going to buy the offical Cisco fan replacement kit but then I thought with such as high failure rate I'd rather buy something else and better guarentee the service to my call centres.
So, what i'm asking is:
- Is there any reason why I cannot procure a standard 80mm 12V fan with a better rating (cooling and reliability) and install this in my 2821's?
I understand this may invalidate any warranties but mine have long expired.

If SAP resuest are not comming then other traffice will get full bandwith .
