we have a old Nexus 5010 running version 5.0(3)N1(1)it is in a franckenblock(like frankenstein) ie . we bought the parts and create our own system design before VCE was created. He have since bought VCE V block for our production sites. we use the franc ken block to test before we migrate to the production v block 300 FIX the issue we have is the 5010 will only see two 1 Gb/s SFP fiber modules in the first 12 slots. All these slots are dual 1g/10G. If we add more than two, it claims not to see them. We tried swapping the sfp and using both sfg-GE-MM and GLC-SX-MM moduels, no difference at all 1g sfp are in the first 5 slots. only the first two slots are up.the others say "Link not connected" or "SFP not inserted"all five links are the same SFP and are plugged in other switches.the green link lights are on plugged in SFP, even when the CLI states they are not plugged uni tried both two types of 1 Gb/s SFP. sfg-GE-MM and GLC-SX-MM ,i move the sfp between slot 1,2 and 3,4,5. nothing changed,From "sh int brief" you can see that it can see the sfp ie they are all 1Gfrom "sh int status " it sees 1g but why does it say type 10G?why when i go to the "int e 1/5" and try switch port mode now, it can't mode and trunk at now there (;also how to i stop or clear EU51 %SYSMGR-2-TMP_DIR_FULL: System temporary directory usage is unexpectedly high at 87%.i put as much info in the attached file as i could.

I am having issues trying to combine two modules into one VDC. The modules are as mentioned below: When I try to combine module 1 & 10 as shown above, the nexus 7000 switch displays 'Not compatible'. I've read the online guide and it mentions that the F2 and M1 module cannot be combine into the same VDC. Problem is, my customer has already purchased the module, how do i solve this problem? If I separate the VDC, how does module 1 talk to module 10 if user wants to send traffic to Internet or Server Farm?

While configuring PoE Ethernet EHWIC PoE modules with ISR G2 routers Cisco DCT gives a warning to select AC Power Supply with PoE ‘PWR-3900-POE’. Do we need to select the PoE power supply for Enhanced EtherSwitch SM PoE modules also (at present it does nt show any warnings)?

our network is spread over 15 floors and each floor we have 5-6 switches. we are planning to purchase cat3750-x 24 ps poe with C3KX-NM-10G network modules. Each floor has two up links to the core switch with single mode fiber and other being the multimode.Suppose if we are purchasing 75 switches do we have to purchase 75 C3KX-NM-10 G modules.? or can we limit our purchase with 15 C3KX-NM-10G sothat two uplinks from each floor can be made? since network modules are optional cost factor is invovled. Or any issue with stacking ? the SFPs will be LR and LRM MODULES.looking for an answer ? whether the new usb type console cable comes bundled with cat350x or shall we have to order separately?

I've installed second WS-X6748-SFP linecard on my catalyst 6509 with sup720-3b and after that NAM-2 and IDSM-2 module become inaccessible from management network. I can only login with session slot N proc 1.When I execute #hw-module module 4 reset, modules become accessible.

We have many 3750E's and need to use Finisar X2 modules FTLX8541E2. After 15.0(1) IOS upgrade the 3750's now recognize the Cisco part X2-10GB-LRM's, but will not recognize our Finisar modules.

I recently ran an upgrade on my 6509-E's and when the first switch came back up, 3 of the 10/100 switches that were in the chassis did not power on. After further investigation, these models are not supported by this latest IOS version. The module # is : WS-X6248-RJ-45
We have one WS-X6348-RJ-45 and since it was a few weeks ago I did this I can't remember for sure but I believe this one came up.
Where can I found the information regarding this being unsupported but I know it is out there and any page that showed me that this was unsupported with the latest stable IOS of 12.(33).
In addition to this question, I have approval to purchase some newer gigabit switches that will be supported by this new IOS version and hopefully at least the next few over the next few years. Which specific gig models are currently and hopefully should be supported for the next few years? I don't need PoE or anything spectacular, just regular switches that are attached to either servers or virtual hosts. I've been looking at the lists of what is out there and it seems like there are hundreds of different models and it is becoming difficult to determine what is what.

I have two 2960-s switches with GLC-FE-100FX fibre modules in and I am seeing packet loss over the link that is connected to the modules. When the interface is shutdown and brought back up it always comes up in half duplex even thought it is set to full in the config. I've seen other posts where you have to use the command no duplex then full duplex to get it to come up int full duplex. This does appear to work when I do a show int it says its full duplex however I'm stil seeing 20 - 40% packet loss on the link which suggests to me there is still a speed/duplex issue. The device at the other end is a Cisco 7200 which is set to 100Full. If I plug a Cisco 2811 into the fibre link I get zero packet loss which suggests its a problem with the switch.
I have changed the modules and fibre cables which makes no difference. As I stated at the start I have two 2960's both are showing exactly the same issue. Details of the switch are below the SFP are cisco branded:

I have a doubt about upgrading Memory in Redundant Supervisor Modules Nexus 7K18, i read the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Hardware Installation and Reference Guide, and the process for upgrading the memory in redundant supervisors do not says that i can have a lose of service, but it also says that both supervisor modules must have the same amount of memory for redundancy to work;If the switch has two supervisor modules, both must have the same amount of memory. If you upgrade the standby supervisor module to 8 GB of memory, you must then switch the active supervisor to standby and upgrade the new standby supervisor to 8 GB of memory.

We have a customer which is using ISE with 802.1X in order to authenticate computers. All the computers have their own certificate and most of them can be authenticated fine! The issue is that some computers cannot be authenticated.The port configuration the authenticator (Cisco WS-C4510R+E IOS 151-1) are configured exactly the same: [code]
But for some reason some PC cannot be authenticated. A wireshark capture on the computer not working shows that the computer receives a EAP Request Identity and also send a Response Identity to the switch but then nothing happens more: So the process is stucked in the EAP-Response/identity. I attach a debug capture on the switch for one of the computer which cannot be authenticated.

Using ES2 enhanced etherswitch modules? Could not find out whether it functions identically as NM-16ESW or not. I do understand that ES3 module act like a separate device connected to the router chassis via internal interface and has its own configuration file and processor resources similar to older NME-16ES modules. What about ES2 card (e.g. SM-ES2-24)? Does it work as separate L2 switch connected to the router chassis via trunked internal interface or integrates to the router like the older NME-16ESW module did? Is it possible to turn its ports into the routed mode (no switchport) and use them for L3 forwarding with routing protocols such as OSPF?

Looking for a show command to display the actual physical Ram modules inside a 2911 router. I believe they come with 2x ram slots and I need to know if it has 1 ram stick or 2.show version displays the total amount of ram, but not if its 2x128 or 1x256 etc.This is also production gear so I cannot open it up and have a look until the scheduled downtime.
