I am trying to install SFP-GE-T module on Nexus 5548UP Switch, but is giving the ‘SFP validation Failed’ error. The details of the switch is given below
Model : N5K-C5548UP-FA
The interface is configured with speed 1000 before inserting the module, still we are getting the same error. PFA logs for more details We have 8 Nos of SFP-GE-T modules , all are giving same error. We tried to insert the module on onboard as well as expansion module.
The same module is working fine on Cisco 3750X-24T-L Switch As per the Hardware installation guide , SFP-GE-T transciever is supported on N5K platform. Please extend your support in configuring SFP-GE-T module on N5K platform? We tried with SFP-GE-S module on the same switch , and the same is found working fine.
I want to prioritize egress voice traffic across a trunk terminated on an F1 module, N7K-F132XP-15. I am unsure about the setup; according to the "show interface capabilities" F1 interfaces support 8 egress queues, while the Nexus QoS documentation provides configuration referencing 4 queues. In addition, I am not clear about the relevance of network-qos on F1 queueing setup.
I have a switch Cisco WS-C6509-E WS-X6716-10G-3C module ( module for 10 GB) , i have the IOS s72033-ipservicesk9-mz.122-18.SXF9.bin. I want to know if this IOS can support this module or not ? or , if i must do a upgrade , is that the IOS : "s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXH8" work fine ?
I have an issue with a Cisco 4900M switch with a WS-X4908-10G-RJ45 half card. The link connection between a 10Gbase-T server nic and the switch does not establish, i believe it is an auto negotiation problem. The link fluctuates constantly between connected and disconnected when set to auto negotiate. When the 10G half card port groups are configured for 1G connections it does the same. If i hard code the server nic to 1G the link remains up when the port group is at 1G. If i hard code the server nic to 10G the link stay down, i don't think the port speed and duplex can be hard coded on the switch end. I have tried updating the drivers on the server as well as diagnostic tests on the nic, which passed. The 4900M IOS code is version 15.0.2-SG2. If i plug a laptop into the 1G configured port the switch and the laptop negotiate at 1G. Also, i believe, if the 10G server nic is plugged into another 1G only switch the link auto negotiates to 1G as normal. The server nic is an INTEL Server Adapter AT 10G, which became end of life in 2009. I believe the half card came out in 2010.
I am having trouble updating the epld image on the 10gb Module of Nexus 7k. we have two nexus and two 10gb module. Tried the other one and it worked fine. its jsut the first one that has problems with the epld image. i have tried on both the nexus on two different slots and still the same error.
I get the following error:
Chain connectivity is broken while upgrading the FPGA. (Error Number : 36)
Trying to find some documentation as to whether there are any other steps for inserting this new module in our N7K. We have 2 blades in already and 2 Sups in 5 & 6. I'm assuming its like the 6500s, where we just slide it in and the OS configures the global parms for it and the default VLAN.
We are looking forward to implement IBM BladeCentre Swiches connectivity with Nexus 2k module.I would like to brief you about my network over as follows:
Currentl Solution : we want to connect the IBM Blade Switches (4) as demonstrated in the attached diagram which will be connected to Nexus 2k module as Ether-channel Access port.
Initially we been proposed by our vendor with this design and Now vendor is recommending us to connect the Blade switch etiher to Nexus 5k switch or directly to 6513 core-switches instead of Nexus 2k modules as they say Nexus 2k modules are only to connect the Edge devices .
We do not have ports available on Nexus 5010 to connect the cables from IBM Blade Centre Switches. Otherthan that, incase if we go ahead and connect the IBM Blade switches as access ether-channel access port with Nexus 2k module what are consequences we have to face realted Spanning tree or any other.
One of our Nexus 7000 modules failed and generated the status below. Could this possibly be a hardware issue?
# show module Mod Ports Module-Type Model Status --- ----- ----------------------------------- ------------------ ---------- 1 0 10 Gbps Ethernet XL Module powered-dn Mod Power-Status Reason --- ------------ --------------------------- 1 powered-dn Unable to power up card (Power_OK not set)
I'm unable to get the N7K-M108X2-12L 10 Gbps Ethernet XL Module within our Nexus 7009 chassis to recognise the individual X2-10GB-SR transceiver modules. I have the same issue on another 7009 chassis. If I perform a 'show interface'. I get the following output saying SFP not inserted.
-Ethernet3/5 is down (SFP not inserted) -Dedicated Interface -Belongs to Po51 -Hardware: 10000 Ethernet, address: 7081.0599.d458 (bia 7081.0599.d458)
I also get the same result if I issue the following command. Are their any additional features I need to enable? or would this be a license issue? Have already tried different X2-10GB-SR modules, reloading the card, re seating the card. [code]
I have a 7K running 6.1 code, on F series line cards. I need to set it to prioritise DSCP EF marked traffic, that's all at this stage, but am unclear on the configuration steps required. The packets will already be marked, I just need to ensure they end up in a priority queue.
we installed copper and fiber sfp modules in the 2232PP and none would link up. we pulled the sfp modules out and entered the speed 1000 command and re-inserted the module with no success. the same sfp modules works fine in every other cisco device. we must be missing something. running latest nx-os software.

I've been researching the 3750-x Netflow support but I'm not 100% sure of how much support it has. From what I've read the only way to get NetFlow support is to install a specific module that provides NetFlow. I also heard about how it might support s-flow but I haven't found out for sure.
Does the nexus 7010 support virtual switching yet? All of the posts I have found from about a year ago say that it is going to be supported, but there were no dates listed. I heard the same thing from Cisco a while back, but haven't followed up with it.If it is supported finally are there any configuration guides available for it?
We got a requirement for 2 number of X2-10GB-SR line card WS-X45-SUP6-E in WS-C4506-E.Customer want to connect with Fujitsu primary server . they have 10 gig module so i guess it will support with that. Also a doubt this X2-10GB-SR we can directly connect the firber sc multimode cable write no additional sfp required write .And for my knowledge if i use CVR-X2-SFP. I think to multimode sfp we have to insert write so do we get to 10 gig ports in one slot or how is it .
We recently purchased a pair of 2232TM Fabric eXtenders just to find out that our Nexus 7000 does not support it. Will there be support for the 2232TM FeX in Nexus 7000 any time soon?
if vPC is supported between a single 2232PP FEX and two 7000 switches running 6.0(1)? I have been researching this for an implementation I am doing for a client and was able to determine it was not supported with earlier versions of 5.0 when the FEX is connected via vPC as I described above, but I can't find anything related to version 6.0(1). I have done this for other clients with 5000 and 2000 switches, but I don't have too much experience with 7000 switches.
Iam having some issue trying to configure snmp-server context vrf XXX.From some reason even if i put my VRF name i cant see anything about this vrfthis is the command i add:
future support for IP Sla on the nexus 7000. The latest info that I've seen is that it will/could be supported in release 6.2, scheduled for mid 2012. Does this still accurate?
currently nexus 2000 and nexus 7000 does not support dual connection. you can not connect to 1 nexus 2000 to 2 nexus 7000 chasis. But for the nexus 5000, you can. what is the problem to to support this feature on Nexus 7000s? 5000s and 7000s run same software.
The data sheet for the 2232PP says you can use a SFP-GE-T, but there is no mention of 100Mbps. I want to recommend to a customer that they use 2232PP for an upcoming core upgrade, but it may need to support some existing 100Mbps devices which are currently connected to 3750s.
I am deploying a pair of Nexus 5596's with 3750 POE switches in the closets. I'm looking for a best practice as how to configure the Nexus 5596 to support proper QoS for EF at the core.
I am sure that F1 linecards on Nexus weren’t able to support L3 functionality, so my query is does the F2 linecard (N7k-F248XP-25) on Nexus 7010 support Layer 3?
