The 2960s-48lpd-l comes with 2 SFP+ ports and is capable of supporting either SFP or SFP+ modules.
My question is:- if I have a SFP+ module in port 1, can I have a SFP in port 2? or do they both have to be either SFP+ or SFP?
I have cisco catalyst 2960S switch. In this switch I have created the vlan 10 with member ports Gig 1/0/1, Gig 1/0/2 and Gig 1/0/3. What I want to configure is as follows.
- If any one of the port of this vlan 10 is turned down, then I want to shutdown entire van
- If Gi1/0/1 is turned down, then I want to shut down Gi1/0/2.
Connecting Avaya 9611G IEEE class 1 devices to a Cat2960s. How ever some of the phone are registering as class 3 devices no matter what interface the phone is connected to. Typical port config is as follows:

I have a single 2960s without stack module. The stack port has a status of down, however I'd like to disable it so that it does not generate a false alarm in my NMS. The documentation states that there should be a command "switch 1 stack port 1 disable" but the switch (running 15.0(2)SE2) doesn't seem to be available. Is this a dcumentation bug or is the command not there at all?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to use flexstack to stack two Cisco 2960S 48 Port switches (2960S-48TD-L) for redundancy. Each switch will have a single 10G uplink into our Nexus 7K. One switch in the stack will terminate to linecard 6 (N7K-F248XP-25) and the other switch will terminate to linecard 7 (N7K-F248XP-25). My question is how many flexstack cables are needed? Do I need only one cable or do I need two to connect the two 2960s ?

Problem is the APs need to be connected on L2-mac betwen each other. But at this time we are using port isolation on each switch (tower) by protected port function to isolate clients from each other.
My question is, is possible to specifi a Mac addresses in specific vlan thats can comunicate betwen protected ports? On tower is one Master unit and others are slave. I thing there is only 1 dirrection comunication - from master to slave.
I just bought a Catalyst 2960S to test out the feature "Port-Based Address Allocation" which is required for our factory. I followed the instruction from Cisco IOS and did all the steps but I could not get it to work, my network client did not received the expected IP address that I configured.

The problem is I don't want the switches listening on the IPv6 ports.[code] How to shut down these listening ports?I also have a few production switches listening on UDP/10000 and I cannot determine why this port is listening. I need to tear down an existing port-channel on a 3750X running c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-1.SE3.bin. This port channel is currently down down. It has three ports in it that will be added one each to three existing port-channels, I am assuming as long as the "channel-group" command is exactly the same as it is on the three existing port-channels I should be ok just adding the new port. One point to note is that the three existing port-channels all have three ports so this will be adding the fourth port to each port-channel. I know after reading that it is a best practice for load balancing to use either 2, 4, or 8 ports for a port-channel. Also what is the command to see all ports that are in a port channel?

I have recently split the voice vlan (10) from the data network (1), and am wondering why my catalysts and router do not require an interface Vlan10 statement. In the past I used OpenBSD boxes to do the routing, and I first needed to configure vlan 10 on the interface before I could get inter-vlan communication to work. With these Cisco devices it works, and I am wondering if it is because of VTP, for the fact that the ports maybe just pass all traffic, or is there some other explanation? Below is the setup, and firmware is up-to-date on all of the devices.
When I plug a phone into the POE SGE, the phone turns on, obtains an address on the proper subnet, and conversations are clear (whereas without the ip nat inside on the new subnet the calls had a lot of static). Possibly the reason that it works is because the phones properly create the tcp/ip packet, and it hops over the trunks and creates the states so that traffic routes back properly. I will install wireshark to see exactly what is going on, but is there a simple explanation that I am overlooking?

and on 48FPS-L I run "mls qos map cos-dscp..."on 24TS-S I cannot run it. there is no such command. there is just "mls qos rewrite..." and "mls qos srr-queue..." variants.
I thought that one image give the same set of commands...?

There are 5 ethernet ports in the same ethernet switch to be assigned for one person (one note book), e.g. port 5, 6, 15, 16 and 23. The model of ethernet switch is cisco 2960S and one MAC address is configured on 2960S.
1. Does 2960S support this requirement to allow input the same MAC address to 5 different port?
2. If yes, can ethernet switch "smart" enough to forward the packages to "active" ethernet port which is connected to notebook and the rest of four ports are inactive.

I have two switches (2960S's) both with IP Phones on VLAN100..We need to monitor voice traffic via a monitor port on SW1 of all VLAN100 traffic on both switches.The following is what we have configured, but we cannot see VLAN100 traffic on SW1

I have a running setup having 2 Cisco 2960s 24 TS switch with Stack configuration. Now I want to add one more same Cisco switch. My questions are:-

Connected to the 2960 are 3 firewalls/routers from other manifactors, each creating their own network. The customer wishes for a solution where each final FW/router gets minimum 33% and maximum 100% of the bandwidth, depending on how much each final Fw/router are in use.
