Is it possible to have a WLAN only be active during set times of the day?.I have a WLCM in a 2811 router but I can't find any type of setting that will let me enabe a WLAN at 6pm and disable it at 7am.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to limit a group of users to certain sites but am encountering problems. I logged into the Cisco EPC3925 config menu, clicked on Access Restrictions and, under Basic Rules modified the '1.
Default' rule as follows:
I enabled Parental Control
Key word List: anonymizer (came up by default)
Blocked Domain List: *.*
Allowed Domain List: a list of domains, eg [URL]
On the tab User Setup I have the following:
'1. Default': no enabled
'2. User': Enabled, Content Rule: '1. Default'
'3. su': Trusted User: Enabled
When I log onto a website I am presented with a prompt asking me for username and password. I enter the credentials of '2. User' and proceed to a screen that tells me that I am logged in. My problem is that this user is able to surf to any website and not only to those in the allowed list.The firmware of my EPC is epc3925-ESIP-16-v302r125533-110811c.
I would like to set a time limit for how long a client can be continously connected to the WLAN that provides my guest internet access. The user name/password is hosted on my ACS and authentication is provided by my Cisco NAC. I am using 5508 controllers (7.02) and WCS.
Somewhere in this combination of stuff, there has to be a way to set a two hour time limit.
WRT54G FW V8.00When enable an access restriction policy that blocks websites by keyword (facebook, twitter, etc) the policy works for a short time (< 2 hours) and then all traffic will be stopped. I can't even log into router. Power down and up is only way to re-enable the router

When testing the setup the local computer with the VPN Client connects to the dedicated services it has access to behind the ASA, and the local computer can ping any computer on the local LAN and it can also access the internet and webpages on the local network
But the supplier complaints that he cannot run a local Navision session on the remote computer while connected to the VPN tunnel. I am not able to run a test that mirrors this.
I have followed the descriptions in document ID: 70917 in setting up the split tunneling, and as far as I can see, the setup works. But is there any restrictions laid on the local computer running the VPN Client in what services on the local network it can connect to?
I set the access restrictions as instructed but they refuse to work. Firmware version is :-1.01.05,have rebooted, with no success.

I am using firmware version V1.00.12. Tried rebooting router, restoring factory defaults & restarting IMAC to no avail. Timezone checked and OK.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with the access restrictions feature on the WRT600N. I do have the latest firmware upgrade, which was released in 2008 I believe. Anyways whenever I totally block a PC from the internet either by MAC or by IP, it affects the internet on the rest of the house. Logins to sites do not work right. Logouts from do not work right. Different features of different sites will not work properly. There also will be a lag sometimes when entering the url for a new site. But as soon as I turn the access restriction off, everything goes immediately back to how it should be working.

The WRT150N has a gateway of 192.168.23.1. The WRT150N is also connected to an Apple Base Station which serves as the Access Point for WiFi users.Squid limits access for IP addresses listed under the .254 gateway. But once I change my gateway to 23.1, everything is accessible. I want to block sites as well on the WRT150N. But every time I try to put a new Access Restriction, it doesn't work.

I'm trying to set up access restrictions to specify the full url on my WAG200G (firmware 1.00.07). In particular to block a few specific https:// sites without blocking all https://. It it easy with http:// If I try https://blah.com it throws back an error invalid url.

i'm thinking about upgrading... perhaps to the E2500. Do the access restrictions now work properly? Am I able to allow access to a specific site only during certain times?
For instance, am I able to provide access to [URL] only during 6:00pm-9:00pm and block it otherwise?
I want to set up access restrictions to one MAC address (my kid's machine) basing on week days. From Su to Th allow less access time while during Fr-Sa afternoons access time should be longer. The question is how to program it in router. I know I can set rules with "allow" and "disable" keyword, but I don't know rules preference. When I set (Su-Th 6-21) allowed access time then router automatically denies defined machine internet access outside this time range. The problem is in the power of thus calculated denying time. I want to allow more access time in weekend, so I hoped if I can simply add "Fr-Sa 6-22:30 allowed access time" rule. I hoped that router will regard explicitly set time over inexplicitly set time but it appears it is not so. What are their preferences/priorieties, iis it possible to stack more rules affecting one MAC address or it is so simple that the first rule "rulez"? Is it possible to set more than one time rule affecting the one machine?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a E1200, I read the articles from the support about the routers, I think the "access Restrictions" has more flexible to setup on for the parental control, after chated to cisco support person online, I was told that the E1200 v2 has this "access restrictions" function, and I wan convinced to purchase from them. I did. I got the E1200 v2 recently, however, after I installed the CD and found there is no "access restrictions" tab, instead the "access policy" is still there. by the way the firmware is 2.0.02 now. How to get the "access restrictions" from setup? I've chatted with cisco support person twice again, but nobody can fix the problem, one suggested to restart and reinstall the CD. I uninstalled the software, restarted the computer and reinstalled the CD. same problem, no tab of "access restrictions".
View 6 Replies View Relatedwe have two servers in our network, one functions as a file server (windows server 2008) and the other as a domain controller with active directory and some database applications running on it (windows SBS 2003). the file server has folders for the different units in our company, these are shared folders. these folders can be accessed by anyone with a domain login by running \servername from their computers, without any further authentication required.
i have tried to set up sharing restrictions with no success, for example the Accounts folder, i right click on it and select properties, and the sharing or security. under both tabs i added three names of those that i want to have access to the folder. these names appear in the sharing list together with:administrator(servernameadministrator) administrators (servernameadministrators) administrator systemeveryone has not been added as is the case with all other folders. what is this system on the list? how i can restrict access, perhaps there is a setting that i have missed or settings in the network that prevent these restrictions?

Then decided to implement the following access restrictions:
1 - Target MAC based, internet blocked from 9-11:55 PM (why won't it let you block from 9PM-7AM ;-( ), blocks son #1's laptop, Kindle
2 - Target MAC based, internet blocked from 10-11:55 PM, blocks son #2's Kindle
3 - Targets IP Address range based (192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254), across all devices blocks several porn sites all the time
I can get on a play games online but when we start watching video with all 3 restrictions enabled, it will eventually disconnect (can take 1-5 minutes before it happens). Rebooting XBox usually reset connection, but it would happen again eventually. After disabling all restrictions, disconnects completely stopped.
Is it not possible to have Access Restrictions in place on a WR54G and still stream video?
