View 0 RepliesAttached is a diagram of my network. My company has leased some office space to an outside company that handed me a 5505 and said "We want to VPN to our HQ through your Internet". I have two issues: I need this to work and I need to be able to access the 5505 from the management network. I don't care about the VPN aspect as much as making sure that I have basic communication down. I have everything configured per the diagram, but I can't ping the 5505 outside (Vlan 2) interface. I want to be able to configure and test the VPN setup on the 5505 from Putty on my PC.
The default route on the 5520 sends traffic to 10.10.1.1 and the default route on the 5510 sends traffic to the WAN interface. I added this route on the 5510:
outside 10.94.4.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.8.1
I still can't ping the default gateway on the 5505. There is a switch between my PC and the 5520 but the default route passes the traffic to the 5520. However on my tracert I don't even get to the 5520. Do I have to add a route to the switch just to manage the ASA 5505?
I am attempting to set up failover dual ISP on a 5505 running 8.4(4) with the Sec Plus license. Everything i have been able to reference so far, points to old commands not available or relevant in 8.4

I have ASA 5505 with 8.4(2)8 software for one of my branch offices and I can't configure port forwarding.It seems to be very simple, but it's not working. I use my ASA as a gateway to the internet for users in office and for site-to-site IPSec VPN to HQ. I have pppoe-enabled outside interface, but ISP gives me static routable ip address. I have server behind my firewall and I should "publish" to the WAN some of its' tcp and udp ports, but I see that no packets forwarded through ASA. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a closed network that is not connnected to the internet, just other sites that we want to communicate with. We have a cisco router connected to the outside interface on an ASA5505 and a cisco router connected to the inside interface on the same ASA5505. I have an inside interface that connects our management LAN, five separate DMZ interfaces with a separate LAN (VLAN) on each DMZ interface and the outside interface that connects to the other sites. Data is not allowed to mingle between the five DMZ's.Â

Alll connections to the other separate nodes are handled with the router on the external interface. IPSEC GRE tunnels have been established between all sites and BGP routing has been verified. Pings are good between inside, dmz and external interfaces and between the DMZ's and the other sites, to include hosts on our local networks and hosts at the remote sites. Inter and intra traffic is enabled.

When a remote site attempts an https connection, the initial ACK handshake makes it through the ASA5505, but the return SYN/ACK is being knocked down and I don't understand why (it is not because of ACL's, they are any any at this point).

Why the return SYN/ACK to the remote site isn't getting through the ASA5505 outbound. Will probably have the same issue with FTP, but right now, just trying to solve one problem at a time.

When I reload the device it prompts me for the username, then the password and it fails and just asks for the username again. I have even tried to delete the username / password combo but it still prompts me for it. When I do password recovery the confreg is 0x00000001.

I solved the problem with the server as a remote access VPN. client workstations that are on the 192.168.2.0/24 network can access a local LAN via VPN. But when you put the ASA 5505 firewall. clients on the LAN side of the firewall can not access the VPN. I use software products Cisco VPN Client 5.0.06, but when I create a connection and try to connect to get an error secure vpn connection terminated locally by the client. reason 412: the remote peer is no longer responding.
This is for an ASA 5505. I am trying to configure an AnyConnect and IPSec VPN connection and I think it's almost there but not quite yet. When I login from an outside network it gives me the following error for the SSL AnyConnect "The VPN client was unable to setup IP filtering" and "Secure VPN connection terminated by peer" for the IPSec. I previously had this working since Oct, but I was trying to modify it a little to accept LT2P for native Android VPN clients and that messed up everything that I had working perfectly. I checked everything as best as I could to try and match the previous settings but still can't get the darn thing to work. I am trying to also do Hairpinning, I want all VPN traffic to pass through this router... remote LAN and Internet traffic for times when I am at unfamiliar wifi hotspots and need to check email securely. I have included my running config. I also need to configure the ASA to accept native Android VPN connections. I read the most popular thread that worked for a few users but while doing those modifications that is where everything went downhill. T

i have 2960 l2 switch connected to the ASA 5505. for some or the other reason i am not able to do intervlan communication. have done trunk mode on both ends on the switch as well as on the ASA and native vlan 1 allowed. the trunk is up up i am able to ping only the vlan 1 ip from the switch to the ASA for the vlan 2 i am not and similar for vlan 3.

So basically I have a C877 and a Cisco ASA 5505 and I want to push the public IP of the ISP to the outside interface of the ASA so the Cisco 877 will only be responsible for ADSL and PPPoA. Don't ask me why I don' t use a modem/router instead. I know that is a waste to use the C877 in this way but I want to test the setup.

We think it should be a pretty simple config. They have the ASA connected directly to the modem. The modem is running DHCP, and we''ve configured the ASA to get its address via DHCP. We have a Windows server behind the firewall; it can't get out the Internet either. It's set up to be a DHCP server and is giving IP addresses to the PCs on the network.

I am in the process of installing an Aironet 1140 standalone AP. I have not worked with these AP's before. I will be connecting it to one of the PoE ports on the existing ASA 5505. My goal is to have 2 SSID's, one for internal network and one for guest internet only, no access to internal LAN. I want to have the internal wifi clients and the guest clients on seperate IP networks. The internal clients obtain DHCP from the existing server and use the ASA DHCP server for the guest clients. And of course, I would like the ability to manage the AP from the internal network. I am providing copies of my current configs for both the ASA and Aironet.

However, we cannot get it to work.We can't use DHCP Relay, as the ASA 5505 only allows to relay to DHCP servers in a different subnet.Or do we have to move the DHCP server to a different subnet.
