We have a CISCO 2921/K9 which has the securityk9 feature set (reflects Permanent under show version)
I thought that included SSL VPN, but doing a "show license all" it doesn't reflect that:

My current ASA 5525-X is licensed with Anyconnect premium = 2 and 750 "Other VPN" What does other mean? Also does this mean that only two clients with Anyconnect can use the ASA for VPN? Or is Premium different than Anyconnect alone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a customer that purchased an LMS 3.0 package and later upgraded it to LMS 3.2 using same license for 300 devices.Now the customer wants to upgrade to LMS 4.1 and is asking if they can get a similar free upgrade as before, especially since their current LMS is covered under an SP Base contract.
Do you know if the SP Base contract will qualify them for this? I have tried discussing it with a TAC licensing Engineer and the Local Accounts team both have not given me a solid answer.
I currently have an ASA 5510, and a ASA 5505 both configured with VPN and TLS licensing.I would like to migrate to a pair of ASA 5525-X, would it be possible to transfer the licensing or would I need to re-purchase?

My question is about the AnyConnect VPN licenses we have. Currently we have 100 seats for AnyConnect on our production ASA's, but we'd like to see if we can move half of these to the 5520 ASA?

View 5 Replies View RelatedDo I need to obtain license keys/files when upgrading a 2851 to IOS 15.x? I'm getting a bit confused seeing the documentation that says 1) IOS has gone to a universal image and 2) that feature sets are unlocked based on the installed license.
I was able to download a feature specific IOS image for the 2851 and it did not bother me about licensing upon boot up.
I read one post on here that stated 2800/3800 series (G1) do not have to worry about the licensing piece and that it's just 2900/3900 series (G2) hardware that require it.

I am in need of some information regarding licesnes on the ASA 5505.I have a client who is connecting their main office to a DR site via a site-to-site VPN. I understand that the standard license for the ASA 5505 is for 10 clients.Does the site-to-site connection consume one of these licenses?Does each endpoint communicating over the site-to-site VPN consume one license also?For example, if I have the site-to-site VPN and 10 servers on each side, would that mean that I need 21 licenses; 1 for the VPN and 20 for each server on each side?

LMS4.0-750 devices.
If I now buy a software support contract for the above will that also entitle me to a free upgrade to LMS 4.1-750 or will I still need to buy a upgrade license.
We have two pairs of ACE 4710s, one pair running A3(2.4) and the other pair A3(2.0). We plan to upgarde the second pair so that they are running the same image as the first pair (we know they are not the latest, but this is the first step in a larger rollout plan, and to aid some troublshooting for a major issue we are seeing.)
I have details of the upgrade steps, but my question is with regards to the licenses which are now enforced after (2.0). We currently have the following on the first pair, but are these part of the default licenses for (2.4) or would we need to purchase these as well?

I have recently purchased ASR1002-RP1-ESP5 with 2 x 4K Broadband licenses to be used as LNS. Cisco have sent me PAK files for the licenses however when I try to enter the licenses into the device I get an error message saying that Licensing is not supported on this platform.
Any experience with this platform and installation of the broadband licenses?
When I spoke to Cisco TAC they told me that for this particular model the licensing is on "trust" basis where you buy license and do not install it on the actual router - similar to what 7200 used to do.
01. I have one customer unit C1121 ACS system shipped with version 5.1. The customer buy the base license and large deployment license along with the purchase.
02. Fact is i have manually upgrade the system to version 5.3.0.40, and applying a trial license for it for administering the appliance.
a. If i now using the purchased base license and large deployment PAK to activate the system, would it still valid for me to continue using Version 5.3.0.40?
I have a customer who has purchased a Cisco 5510 and after we received it and all the necessary VPN, 3DES etc. licensing for it, then informed us that they order 2 T1 lines so they can have Internet failover.
My question is: Does this require an additional specialized license from Cisco in order to enable and configure it? And if so, what that part number is?
I am just getting more confused the more I try to work it out. Not sure if this goes in the IP Telephony section or here. We have an ASA 5510 with the base license. We are needing to install IP Phones at remote workers homes, and I understand there are Cisco IP phones which have VPN clients built in to allow a tunnel to the central private network. IT appears that you can only use Any connect VPN for this, ans I am trying to work out what licensing upgrade we need to apply to the ASA, as the two Any connect licenses you get free on the ASA is not enough.

This platform has a Base license. It shows "Any Connect for Linksys phone : Disabled", is this the same for Cisco IP Phones? Is this the specific licensing type I should be looking to get for Any connect on IP phones or will Essentials do?

I need 3 VLANs...inside, outside, and DMZ..but when it is creating the third (DMZ) it says I am only allowed to have 2 VLANs and can only create the third if its set to not forward traffic. ?

I am sure you get the picture. What confuses me is the product licensing of ASA5500. To be more specific, we are proposing certain things. And that came with the product pricing sets and all. But I amn't having a clear picture on ASA 5500 Strong Encryption License (3DES/AES). Does that come inbuilt(free) or should there be any pricing behind that!?

My question is do we need to pay for a license for each member in the stack or does one IPServices license upgrade cover the whole stack?

View 1 Replies View RelatedPrior to version 8.4(1) Cisco called their licensing name for SSL/VPN users AnyConnect Premium SSL VPN and currently the new name of the licensing is simply AnyConnect Premium. Also, the IOS display name for the amount of SSL/VPN users enabled via your licensing (ex. 2, 10, 25, 50, ...) by running a 'show activation-key' was changed from SSL VPN Peers to AnyConnect Premium Peers.With that said, my question is if the license for upgrading 10 users to 25 users (L-ASA-SSL-10-25= - ASA 5500 SSL VPN 10 to 25 Premium User Upgrade License) on an ASA prior to 8.4(1) and an ASA with 8.4(1) is still valid and the correct part number to peform these upgrades for both ASAs. The description of this part number is throwing me off because it says SSL VPN to Premium User, which was the name prior to 8.4(1). I could not locate any documentation regarding this part number or upgrading 10 users to 25 users for both ASAs.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWe have just purchased and installed the L3 daughter card for our 5548UPs and have also installed the L3 Enterprise Services pkg. The problem is, I cannot enable the EIGRP feature even though we have the Ent Svc lic. After doing a little more research, I see that the Lan Base lic is required to enable the L3 card and many of the L3 features (the card is currently in an "offline" state).
From what I have read on this board, the Lan Base lic is a free license that should be included with the L3 daughter card -- however, Cisco licensing will not issue me that license without a sales order (even though a Nexus engineer said it was included, the licensing group will not issue with an official sales order). Well, our vendor ordered the card and the Ent Svcs lic but for some reason we were never sent a PAK for the LAN Base lic.
A customer is currently running a 5520 ASA pair in active/standby HA mode. The devices also have an IPS module, one of them using a temporary (60-day) license. So, right now, licensing is identical on both ASAs and HA is operational.
The question is what exactly will happen after 60 days, once the temporary license expires? Does HA shutdown completely once it's determined that the licensing isn't a 100% match any longer, or does it just cripple one feature (such as the IPS module)?
The customer is balking at purchasing SMARTnet for the 2nd ASA, so I need to explain exactly what is going to happen (if anything) once the license on the 2nd ASA drops off...
I currently have a 3560G switch running c3560-ipservicesk9-mz.122-58.SE2 I have a spare 3560 V2 switch I want to configure and have ready in case of a failure. This spare switch is running c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE5 My plan was to pull the IOS image from the current switch and upload it to the spare that way I have an "idnetical" switch. From what I have read, there are some feature differences between "ipbase" and "ipservices". However, when I run the show license command on the production switch, I get an unrecongnized command error. So that throws into my confusion as if its running an ipservices image, shouldn't it have a license file?

For the users that connect with their personal PCs, I want to only allow RDP access to their company PCs on the internal network.
Can I accomplish this with the current VPN Plus license and Anyconnect Essentials feature enabled? If not, what license/features do I need installed/ enabled to accomplish these objectives?
I was wondering if it is needed to license the IPsec VPN clients in the ASA5500 firewalls...I know that you have license the SSL VPN peers (AnyConnect). I am almost sure that for the IPsec you don't have to.
