I am setting up an ASA5505 to allow a VPN with certificate from AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (iPad)However I get a "No License" message back from the ASA, on the iPad - Anyconnect.I remember reading the ASA5505 came with two licenses.

Setup: I have a very simple setup and basic goal. I currently just have one laptop on E0/1 of my ASA5505 and then the ASA configured with a static IP plugged to the Internet. I have the ASA correctly configured and can browse the web through the laptop. I also have the AnyConnect and AnyConnect Mobile licenses as well.
Goal: I want to set up AnyConnect on the ASA5505 and just establish a successful connection from an android mobile device running the necessary AnyConnect software from the market.
There are lots of guides for specifc set ups, but as described, I want to keep this as simple as possible.

Also, I'm more comfortable with the CLI. Is it simpler to use the ASDM wizard for this?
I am just getting more confused the more I try to work it out. Not sure if this goes in the IP Telephony section or here. We have an ASA 5510 with the base license. We are needing to install IP Phones at remote workers homes, and I understand there are Cisco IP phones which have VPN clients built in to allow a tunnel to the central private network. IT appears that you can only use Any connect VPN for this, ans I am trying to work out what licensing upgrade we need to apply to the ASA, as the two Any connect licenses you get free on the ASA is not enough.

This platform has a Base license. It shows "Any Connect for Linksys phone : Disabled", is this the same for Cisco IP Phones? Is this the specific licensing type I should be looking to get for Any connect on IP phones or will Essentials do?
Prior to version 8.4(1) Cisco called their licensing name for SSL/VPN users AnyConnect Premium SSL VPN and currently the new name of the licensing is simply AnyConnect Premium. Also, the IOS display name for the amount of SSL/VPN users enabled via your licensing (ex. 2, 10, 25, 50, ...) by running a 'show activation-key' was changed from SSL VPN Peers to AnyConnect Premium Peers.With that said, my question is if the license for upgrading 10 users to 25 users (L-ASA-SSL-10-25= - ASA 5500 SSL VPN 10 to 25 Premium User Upgrade License) on an ASA prior to 8.4(1) and an ASA with 8.4(1) is still valid and the correct part number to peform these upgrades for both ASAs. The description of this part number is throwing me off because it says SSL VPN to Premium User, which was the name prior to 8.4(1). I could not locate any documentation regarding this part number or upgrading 10 users to 25 users for both ASAs.

I have ASA 5520 running ver 8.3.(2)8 and configured for AnyConnect VPN. While testing for iPads and iPhones we noticed that on connecting it disconnects few times before finally connecting. I have an SSL VPN set up on my ASA 5520 with a self signed cert. When I run the AnyConnect install on my desktop machine I have click through a few windows to accept the certificate. When I connect through the mobile client on Android, the connection goes right through without a prompt to import/choose/download a certificate. I'm able to connect but I'm wondering if the phone has actually recieved a certificate. I'm in the 'Advanced Connection Editor' screen and the certificate setting says "Automatic".

What i'm after is a way to restrict access to an AnyConnect authenticated and connected client, on a specific profile, to a list of specific websites (all on the Intranet). Everything else must be blocked.
On the IOS device, I had it fudged to pretty much retstrict access to a certain IP and port, and used a mod rewrite in Apache to re-write a URL from that IP to the host the site actually resided on. It's cludged together and working, but it's not ideal (and it's not going to allow for scaling up to what I need).
I can find plenty of references here and on the net to using regex to create block lists based on a global policy to disallow specific URLS, but I need the inverse of that, and, only applied to a specific policy group.
Is this possible on an ASA5505? Is it possible on *any* ASA?
Does changing the device certificate for AnyConnect Connection Profiles break any established AnyConnect connections, or is it transparent to the users?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased an ASA 5505 for my remote users to access our internal network. I have followed all the setup instructions I can find. I am able to establish a VPN connection using the Anyconnect client and can see some of my internal network. (Basically, only the subnet of the internal interface) However, I have several subnets inside my LAN which are routed by another switch inside my LAN. I have built in the correct static routes so that the ASA will send traffic to that intenal routing switch for any subnets not part of it's inside interface subnet. I can see and ping those subnets from the ASA itself but the AnyConnect clients cannot.

The software (Dell Mobile Broadband Utility Help) says " Choose Network Selection from the Settings Menu. Select AT&T and click Load." Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.
How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.

My current ASA 5525-X is licensed with Anyconnect premium = 2 and 750 "Other VPN" What does other mean? Also does this mean that only two clients with Anyconnect can use the ASA for VPN? Or is Premium different than Anyconnect alone?

Do you know if the SP Base contract will qualify them for this? I have tried discussing it with a TAC licensing Engineer and the Local Accounts team both have not given me a solid answer.
