I reset router, set the router's name to wife's laptop, created a password. when i log on to wife's laptop, i can see the connection but when i click connect i get nic card disabled. i checked the card and it is not showing as being disabled. i am conncected via my desktop to the router and i connect fine. laptop is toshiba w/ win 7 home 64 bit. i have tried several ways to connect but still get network cable disconnected.

Jul 24, 2011So I have an WRVS4400N V2 and just got a new laptop with an Intel 6230 Wifi card in it and have an odd problem.While the laptop is on battery power the network gets massive packet loss.
I don't know what to do.Laptop manufacture says its AP but AP worked fine with old laptop and works fine when laptop is on power and all other devices seem to be fine with the exception of my Xbox 360 that wont connect if I have it on WPA2 but I will post another thread for that.

Feb 26, 2012I cant get the WRVS4400N to connect to my cable modem. The WAN link light isnt even lighting up. Im wondering if this unit is bad out of the box. Is there a setting im missing to get them to talk to one another. This is no mention in any of the manuals.
Connections: - The "Internet" port on the WRVS4400N to the "Network" port on my cable modem (No link light)
Here is what i have verified at this point: - My old router connects instantly to the modem when plugged in (Same cable) - When i plug my laptop into the WAN port on the WRVS4400N i get a link light. When i plug the modem into the WAN port...nothing.

Jul 23, 2011As a temp work around I have two SSID now, one for everything else running WPA2 and one for xbox running WPA. The xbox seems to not like the router on WPA2 and though this would make one think, oh its your xbox, thats not always the case with devices. Some just may happen to want to use a feature the device doesn't support correctly and other devices are able to work around it while ones not so I cant for sure blame on xbox.

Mar 26, 2013I have the wireless switch turned on and the wireless router is set up correctly - I know the network name, encryption & password.The same setup has worked fine before, but now the laptop isn't letting me connect to it, or even try to connect to it.The internet works perfectly if I connect the ethernet cable directly; and I can bring up the wireless router's settings with 192.168.1.1; but the internet doesn't work when I remove the cable. I looked on google to try and find the method of bringing up the available networks, but it won't work for me. When I hover the cursor over the icon on the taskbar, it says "not connected - connections are available", but nothing happens when I click on it. I tried moving the cursor to the bottom-right corner of the screen, clicking on Settings, and clicking on the network icon with "Available" written underneath it, but again nothing happens.
I've also tried this:
-right-clicked network icon on taskbar, opened Network and Sharing Center
-clicked Set Up a Connection or Network
-clicked Connect to the Internet - nothing happens and the window crashes, I have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE->task manager->restart Windows Explorer
-clicked Manually Connect to a Wireless Network - I enter the details of the wireless network, then it says that the network already exists; I choose to Use the existing network, open the "connect to a network" dialog so I can connect, but then nothing happens. It doesn't crash this time though.

Sep 17, 2012I recently changed the configuration of my Aironet 1140 from WEP to WAP2-Enterprise to make it more secure. I am using the WAP as the radius server. After making the change I connected my Blackberry to the wap as well as a Samsung Chromebook. However when I tried to connect my HP laptop it is unable to connect. Watching from the Aironet's console I see that it is processing the association and windows ask me to enter my uid and password. When I do this I get an authentication error. I have tried several times adjusting parameters on windows but it always fails. Here is the configuration of the WAP:

Jul 20, 2012I know the wifi in the laptop works, i know the laptop has no issues.I know this because i switched my hard drive from my 1330 to this laptop which is also a 1330...connects and works fine.Wifi IS turned on In device manager the driver is ok no exclamation marks anywhere When i try and connect with the ethernet i get identifying no network access, then it says currently connected to unidentified network, no network access! You cannot browse.So that being said it must be in the setting with windows 7.I uninstalled and reinstalled the wifi driver it did not make any difference.I also tried using a Ethernet connection and it would not connect either.When i use the win 7 trubleshooter it states a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken.Remember this laptop functions fine with my hard drive in it with windows xp.

I've owned it for over a year now without any difficulties, but it's suddenly unable to access the internet. The wireless icon in the tray shows that it's connected to the router (a Netgear N300), but that it has no internet access. I ran the Network Troubleshooter and received the message: "Your computer is correctly configured but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding."
I thought that it may have been a problem with the cable modem (a Motorola SB5101) or with my ISP (Comcast), but I found that the Wi-Fi was working just fine on my cellphone.I tried connecting the laptop via an ethernet cable (to both the router and the modem), but it still wouldn't work. I tried turning everything off and then on again, and still nothing.I then started the computer in Safe Mode with Networking. In this mode, it WAS able to connect to the internet. I don't know what exactly this means, or where to go from here.
