Having a problem configuring my new 1941 Router. The 0/0 interface is attached to my broadband and gets it's ip via dhcp, the 0/1 interface is connected to my lan and has a dhcp pool. My problem is that the 0/0 interface does not appear to be getting any dns servers. So i have either missed something or need to add the dns servers manually to my dhcp pool. Below is my config,

I am setting up a network that will use the 1941 router with a cellular card (HWIC) to connect to the Internet for communication with remote stations in the field. The 1941 has a static IP address (166.142.xxx.yyy) on the Internet provided by the ISP (Verizon). The 1941 is connected via ethernet to the ASA5510. The end goal is to have the field cell routers (Digi Transport WR-44-R, also static IP) connect to the ASA5510 via VPN tunnels for communication back to the servers behind the firewall. I'm not sure exactly how to configure the 1941 so that the remote router can connect to the ASA using the public IP of the 1941 router. I have the 1941 working stand alone and can connect to the Internet and pass traffic, but I tried a static NAT to translate the public IP to the private IP of the ASA and cannot pass traffic. below is part of the 1941 configuration: [code]
Do I need to use VLAN bridging to accomplish the task or am I missing something with the NAT?
I have configured eigrp routing on cisco 1941 ISR with two interfaces advertised. However i can not ping the router interface on g 0/0 but can ping the device and computers attached to that network. When i ping from the same network i'm able to ping the interface but not from anyway else. i can also ping the other devices on other network from g 0/0 attached hosts. How can i enable ping to this interface so that i start monitoring the network?

I have recently gotten a cisco 1941 router running version 15.1(3)T, and am trying to configure the router as a PPPoE server for access via a vlan on one of the gigabit ethernet ports.I currently have a cisco 2620 router (version 11.3(2)XA4) with the following relevant configurations:

I am trying to duplicate this (all but IP addresses) on the new router, but there are some options that do not seem to exist in this particular software/hardware combination. Specifically,
vpdn-group pppoe
accept-dialin
protocol pppoe
does not accept "pppoe" as a protocol, only allowing l2tp. What has changed, and what the proper configuration is.
I am trying to configure TZO DDNS on my 1941. The DDNS lines in the configuration file were provided one year ago by TZO support for a 1811W router, which was working befor i migrated to the 1941. I have attached a config file and a debug file. The unusual part of the debug file is session id 0x95. I thnk this is the format the router would use if it had been configured using CCP. I had tried CCP initially but it didnt work, so I deleted it from the configuration and used CLI instead. Session ID 0x96 is the call the router is making using the CLI configuration, as seen in the attached config file.
I am not sure where the problem is here. it appears to be logging on to TZO. It also appears that the router name is being added to the logon ID in session 0x95...ie instead of myname.net the router is sending cisco1941.myname.net ---not sure if this is relevant or not. It also appears that the update happens? At least that'w what I can garner from the log file.
Router 1941 is installed with additional 4 Gig-interfaces card; we have 4 ADSL Router with 4 MB connections. I need to connect all the ADSL connection to the router 4 port and combine them into 16 MB, is there any way to combine 4 Gig interfaces?

View 8 Replies View RelatedHere's my problem. I'm going to be using Cisco 1941 routers at a bunch of remote sites. All of these sites have 2 comm paths out. Some of them have 2 IP/VHF radios and some have 1 IP/VHF radio and a copper link using Patton ethernet extenders. From the VHF radios the data hit our MPLS network back to our HQ and the sites with copper go directly back to our HQ. Everything ends up at a Cisco 4948 switch. The problem I'm having is that I want the routers at the remote site to use one ethernet port (G0/0) as the primary and the other (G0/1) as the backup interface. I've tried the backup interface command but the problem is that depending on where an outage occurs the ethernet link to either the radio or Patton stays up so it never switches over. We're using OSPF as our routing protocol and I'm sure there's something that can be done with it but I'm not sure what.

I have created a domain name [URL] I have used zoneedit's free DNS server as I cant be bothered setting one up for what I want to do. Now I have my external ip "eg.eg.eg.eg" which i entered into the configuration on zoneedit. I then typed www.mydomainname.net.au into google chrome and I am prompted for my Thompson gateway (my modem/Router) username and password. This I enter and i find my self being able to configure the settings for my router over the internet from my domain name....this makes me go huh? I also tryed using the free dyndns.org with exactly the same results. I have no idea what I am supposed to do next anyway. Btw the website I am trying to host is a Joomla 1.6.3 so I would need to run a WAMP Server as well, but if I have troubles with that I can ask the Joomla Forums.So my main question is what on earth do I do now. Perhaps I need to do something with the ports or settings in my router, and where do I even put the files for the wesite and I do not mean to insult anyone I just don't want to be plainly stating my external ip on the web (i know it is visible on any website i go to) whilst it is linked to my router settings.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a Cisco router 2901 with 10M dedicated link on Gi0/0 interface, 3 VLANs on Gi0/1 interface. The Gi0/1 is subinterfaced for default, LAN and DMZ segments.LAN is assigned 172.16.1.0/24 and DMZ 192.168.1.0/24. We host a web server (192.168.1.11) and dns server (192.168.1.18) on DMZ VLAN. On the same WAN interface we have confiugured PAT and NAT. For outside queries to DNS and WEB servers everything works fine but when we try to open the website on our web server from internal LAN, we can´t do it.
When PINGing the web server by its IP address 192.168.1.11 or by the FQDN, the requests respond fine. The domain.com and [URL] resolve and respond with public IP address of our WAN link as the DNS server is configured. But when we try to open [URL] in the Internet browser the website does not open.
What could be the issue? Can be anything with NAT or PAT configuration?
Got an ASA5525-X with 8.6 release. We have an inside interface (10.11.1.0/24) and a DMZ interface (10.254.1.0/24). On that DMZ interface theres an SMTP server; by using the Public server feature in ASDM we created a rule so we have mapped the 10.254.1.29 internal ip to an external ip 217.x.x.x Everything is fine; working ok, but for several reasons we need to access the public ip 217.x.x.x from an inside ip (10.11.1.10). I tried to do it by creating an exemption for the dynamic nat; if i don't do that i have a 'deny ip spoof from...' message rolling on my syslogs.Seems to do the trick.....but only for pings! i ping the public ip from the inside ip, and got the reply from the internal ip on the DMZ. But if i want to telnet port 25 from inside to public; its not working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with a Site to Site VPN configuration between an ASA 5505 and a 1941 ISR. I can get tunnels without NAT up without any difficulty, but there are several remote sites with the same inside network which need NAT to traverse the tunnel from those ASAs to the ISR, which is acting as a hub.
The tunnel from ASA (1) to the ISR vpn router is working perfectly, but the tunnel to ASA (2) is not working. From what I can see in an ASA packet trace that tunnel is sending the NAT traffic out to the internet, rather than across the tunnel. I have tried using the NAT subnet as the interesting traffic for the tunnel, the LAN subnet as the interesting traffic for the tunnel, static NAT entries, policy NAT entries, but all have failed. How do I get the tunnel to see the NAT IP addresses?
My IP Configuration lost after system reboots in SLES 10.but when i restart the nework it again comes back after doing the same two/thre times.

I have attached a pdf of an example of a FWSM configuration with shared interfaces. Now what I dont get is (please refer to the link) url...Is there any difference between the natting that they have done on page B-4 on Context A.as opposed to configuring a static NAT for processing traffic to correct context nat(inside,outside) 209.165.201.0 10.1.2.0.The other question is on page B-2 (diagram) Context A has a customer A network linked to the inside interface. Is it possible to put a default route towards that "Network 2" cloud and restrict traffic from the 6509 switch towards the context A?

How do I combine the two correctly to give me a vlan port rate limited at 10Mb up and down, but still setting aside (dynamically) 2Mb for voice?
I know this is not a the preferred way to do it, but this just an interim network configuration until the Remote Site gets re-located and reconfigured. I'm trying to bridge and route traffic and hoping the community can offer a review of the sample configuration and/or some ideas to make this a reality.
Existing network is bridged across site-to-site private line (p-2-p) so 192.168.100.0/24 devices exist at both locations. In order to reduce bandwidth consumption across the p-2-p, the 172.20.100.0/24 devices (end user PCs and new to the environemnt) will be routed out a local Internet connection which in turn reduces the p-2-p traffic to just private network traffic for the two networks. That same network requires routing through the 192.168.100.0/24 network in order to access the private WAN connected to the 3900 router with IP 192.168.100.1.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHaving 2 router with 2 sub interface configured with HSRP. The server sending the data have the route default gw xxx.xxx.xx.252 HSRP address. But on of the routers did got HW problem so we did shut it down, R2 with IP xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.251, problem so the traffic didn't go there correct when was using the HSRP address some packaged went there but not all of them no blocks in the logs. But then we did change the server direct to to the working router R1 xxxx.xxxx.253 everything did start working fine again. was working fine. Logs i got in the router was max tcp half-open connections.
I am wondering if something wrong in the configuration below and why the traffic didn't got there correct when using the HSRP address. Its working fine when using R1 IP address. The devices are 2 Cisco 2620 routers.

we have a couple of AP1262N-E-K9 APs with firmware version 12.4(25d)JA1 operating in autonmous mode. One AP is setup as repeater while all others are in root mode.
The repeater has setup one parent MAC address so it associates every time to the same parent root AP. Given this setting, I am logging into the repeater via SSH and start the antenna-alignment scan: "dot11 dot11Radio 0 antenna-alignment timeout 4"
During this scan, the repeater disconnects from its parent to perform the scan so no output is visible at the SSH console. After the scan is finished, the repeater re-associates to its parent and some output appears on the SSH console.
8 of 10 times this procedure works fine: the scan is finished and I can continue entering commands on the SSH console. However, in some cases the repeater is not reachable any more for about 7 minutes. I.e. pings to the repeater's IP address are unsuccessful and the SSH connection hangs until it is automatically disconnected after a timeout. Also, the web configuration interface is not reachable. After about 7 minutes everything works fine.
