Cisco WAN :: 2851 Router Showing Error For Peer Set Configuration
May 28, 2012We have Cisco 2851 Router part code CISCO2851-SEC/K9 facing issue while set peer configuration, issue description below.
Issue:We are facing the problem while configuring set peer as when we try to this we face error like 'unable to set peer.maximum numbwe of peer (40)exceeded'
We suspected the IOS issue hence we have gone for IOS upgrade for this Router but this error is still coming while configuring set peer.
Previous IOS: c2800nm-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin New IOS:c2800nm-advsecurityk9-mz.124-24.T7.bin

Cisco WAN :: 2851 - Nat Ls Giving Error
Apr 24, 2013Up to today I used Verizoon 4G to a Windows Visata box running Internet connection Sharing to get my home lab connected to the Internet . All was working well.
Today I had Hughesnet come and installl their service and I can no longer get access to the Internet from my PC netowrk. my VPN to my office for my IP phone coomes up an works just fine. At the router I do have Internet access which then leads me to believe that my problem is NAT related.
My router is a 2851.
When I enter PING 4.2.2.2 I get !!!!! but when i enter PING 4.2.2.2 SOURCE 192.168.69.3 I get .....

Feb 2, 2011I am having issues bringing up a tunnel between a cisco 861 router and Cisco 2851 router. Tunnel has been dropping every week atleast once or twice. Usually router reboot fixes it but today it is just not coming back up. have updatee remote, reloaded the config still no use. It seems like it is partially coming up but I see the following two messages on the main router:
1- Death by retransmission P1
2- 11:03:03.789: %CRYPTO-6-IKMP_NOT_ENCRYPTED: IKE packet from 12.234.109.169 was not encrypted and it should've been
I have checked the config on both routers it is the same as the VPN was up and we didn't make any changes on either of the two routers.

Apr 14, 2012I recently bought the E2500 Router and I am using the EA2500 Adapter with it . I have this set-up on 2 Desktop PC's . 1 Pc is working just fine with this set-up . The other keeps giving me an Error message of "Invalid Key Manual" . What does this mean ? The adapter is working because it does find the Router as a usable connection . It just isn't able to connect to it and keeps giving me the same Error message .

The TV does not provide any specific error message - just tells me to re-enter the security key and/or re-start the router (which I have done many times with no success). Jan 5, 2013I have a Netgear WNR612 wireless router, which worked fine for a few weeks. Then something happened and I can't keep the connection anymore. It happened right after I used iTunes to update my iPhone, perhaps a coincidence, but I'm mentioning that just in case. Internet still works fine with ethernet cable straight from the computer, only the wireless connection doesn't work. This happened about a month ago and I haven't been at home much to fix the problem. I have turned off and unplugged everything for several days at a time while gone. I get a Network Error message saying, Windows has detected an IP address conflict. I have tried restoring the router back to factory settings and reinstalling the wireless card. I have tried changing the IP address settings both in the Network and Sharing Center and the router admin page. What I think I should do is change the IP address in Command Prompt, but when I type "ipconfig /release", it says "No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection 2 while it has its media disconnected" and the same for Local Area Connection. I don't understand what this means, because there is a wireless key in my keyboard and there is a white light (not orange) like there should be. Also in the Network and Sharing Center, I can see that the connections are enabled.

Aug 6, 2012Sometimes, either browsing from my computer, iPad or iPhone, I sometimes get a "can't connect to server" error, and it's not just a few forums here and there, it is a lot of them. But if I give them 5 or 10 minutes they will come. Imkmow that this isn't a normal up issue with sites servers actually being down. I thought it was a Google chrome issue, but it's been happening on safari. It hasn't started till we switched our Internet plan to 3mbps and a new router.

Sep 30, 2012After making some physical changes to my home network (which had been running for sometime without incident) my desktop machine stopped (home built MSI X58 Platinum MB) talking to the network. I get "media not connected" even though I am connected, and the connection works for any other computer I attach. I get indication of proper physical connection at both ends (router and computer ethernet port), however I get no connection and the default 169 .... IP address. It does not matter if I create a fixed IP address in the router and set the ip address of the port to correspond. I have tried all the ip resets, stack resets, remove and reinstall the network ports, etc., to no avail. Connecting directly to the cable modem did not work. I even installed a new buss ethernet card with its own drivers and I get the same 'media not connected'.

Jan 30, 2012My laptop will not connect through my router anymore. I'm getting the message ( Cannot communicate with Primary DNS server (192.168.1.254). It works fine with an ethernet cable. I have a WII that uses the router also and I can watch a Netflix movie on it so the router seems to be working. My desktop computer is working fine through a DSL connection. I confused with terms 'maximum supported vlans' and 'maximum locally supported vlans'. If switch is supporting vlans 1-4094 means it should also allow to create locally. Otherwise how they will pass through the switch trunks without local creation.
