Cisco WAN :: 3845 - Select NTP Server Version On IOS Router
Dec 26, 2012
I have the following commands on my Cisco 3845 router running IOS version 12.2(24)T4:
ntp server 192.168.1.1 prefer
ntp server 192.168.1.2
ntp source loopback0
I see that the router is sending out NTP version 4; however, my NTP server is configured to accept only NTP version 3. Anything other than version 3 will be dropped.
How do I go about to configure NTP on the Cisco IOS router to send out only version 3 and not version 4?
I purchased the EA6500 a few days ago, and when I'm connected to Cisco Connect Cloud I am unable to select Folder Access / FTP Server / Media Server. I click them and nothing happens. Also, the Cisco light on the router keeps blinking.
I change only a chasis in a router 3845, but the "show version" command should be the same , except for the serial number and other parameter of time.. however, the number of serial interface change from 4 up to 2.The hardware module of 3845 are 3.
1.- VWIC E1/T1 with 2 port 2.- Fastethernet 36 port 3.- Supervisor engine with 2 Gigabit port
I got a new Cisco 3845 under my adminsitration. For some special events I do automated actions (e-mail's) from Cisco Works 2000.
One is if power supply fails. Problem now is, tha a ps fail message will be repeated every 20 seconds to syslog server - but local log on router only once.
We have multiple RA VPN groups on a 3845 router.RADIUS authentication is currently happening between the 3845 and a single Windows 2008 server. We have a specific windows group that AD users are members of, and they are allowed to connect via VPN.
I'm creating a new RA VPN Group, which should only allow different AD users. Is it possible to create another RADIUS association to the same server, or do I need to authenticate against a different Windows server?
I am trying to configure two 3845 routers to act as dhcp server and dhcp relay. Clients are connected to the router that relays all dhcp requests to the vrf instance which is used to connect it to the router wich is running dhcp server.
Router1 ip vrf dhcp_dns rd 8:1 int gi0/0 ip vrf forwarding dhcp_dns ip address 192.168.200.5 255.255.255.248
[code]...
So far I can see dhcp requests coming from the R1 and dhcp server on R2 replies with the dhcp offer but PC is not getting any ip.
A couple of days ago I noticed my download speed (from my own webserver) has slowed down. I checked my wireless connection and saw that the radiotype was now 802.11g instead of 802.11n, what is always has been. I looked at the Wireless configuration in the router's webbased config panel, but the only things listed there are "Disabled", "Mixed", "Wireless-G Only" and "Wireless-B Only". A scratched my head a bit, wondering wether or not I really bought an N router or just a G router. But IIRC I really bought an N router. It said so on the bill. Also, when I check the user manual, page 14 says I should be able to select "Wireless-N Only".
I have a 3845 router. Setup SSH Version 2generated rsa keys (1024)set login localtransport input ssh and telnet is enabled since I can't get ssh connection working When I connect using SSH, I get the following error. server refused authentication protocol.
Is there any physical or technical diferrences between PWR-3845 AC/2 and PWR-3845 AC? We are trying to order replacement parts and wondering if PWR-3845 AC is for one power supply and AC/2 means you get two with one order?
was working fine with my new router DSL-2730U D-link router and using it's wireless connectivity with G/N mixed mode..and i noticed that the range is so low so i decided to switch to N-only mode and when i did that i couldn't connect at all!..the router uses N-150 btw.

Even before I did the latest firmware flash I couldn't select short GI under Advanced Wireless - it was simply greyed out even though WMM was enabled above it. Now after a factory reset and recreating all my settings I still can't select it.
I just set up a DPC3825 router, and I wanted to use WEP security settings so my DS Lite can connect to the internet, but it appear the only options in the Wireless > Wireless Security dropdown list are :
WPA-Personal WPA2-Personal WPA or WPA2-Personal Disable.

McAffee scan of acs 1113 appliance running the 4.2 build 124 patch 12 version reports that a medium vulnerability exists because the system has SSH version 1. Any way to specify only version 2 or turn off SSH?
Looking through the logs of our SF300 switches I am seeing errors for SNTP:
%SNTP-D-NTPBADVER: NTP server version not compatible
We have two NTP servers listed, both are MS Windows 2008 R2 domain controllers. The actual time on the switches seems to be correct but we are still receiving these errors?
I have a client that is getting disconnected quite frequently from our VPN Concentrator and in looking at the server I cna find no issues or cause for the disconnect. his ping to the concentrator never fails, but yet is disconnects. I have hundreds of remote VPN clients connecting to the same concentrator without issues.
We are using Cisco ACS server Version : 5.3.0.40.6. Our tacacs appliances are crashing on AD authentication on a fairly regular basis. I have been searching Cisco.com to see whether we are on the latest version or not however I couldn't find anything lattest than what we are currently using. Are we on the latest version?
I´m Trying to synchronize the clock with NTP server external, these ntp server only support NTP version 3.Can I change the NTP version in the ACE4710 Appliance to support the ntp server external? If is possible, How I can change it ?

Is there currently any ACS version working with Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controllers? Our server stuff has recently upgraded the Domain Controllers to 2008r2 and turned off the 2003 servers. This didn't make our ACS 4.1.4 really happy.I've read now serveral posts regarding issues with ACS and Server 2008r2 and hope to find a solution (besides switching to LDAP, yukk).
I have 2 computers running Slackware 13.37 and each has a T10/100 ethernet card/port. I want to create an ethernet network between them to pass text and possibly backup. I have given them 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.2.2. I want to be able to cut the connection at will. If I recall correctly there are 2 types of LANs one is NFS and NIS. Which would be the best for this purpose and where can I find a stepwise approach to setting it up?
After upgrading to LMS3.2.1 I cant select devices in Netconfig. There seams to be a defect in the selection box:you have Task selection twice (left task-selector headlined with Device Selector) instead of device-selector left and task-select right. What can we do to can use netConfig?
I recently purchased a RV120W router and I am having a problem selecting n speed under the wireless settings.
If I select B/G/N-Mixed mode then when I go to save the change I get B/G/N-Mixed B/G/N-Mixed in red letters and it does not save. If I select N only then when I go to save it says in red letters N only N only.
It does not matter if I pick 20 only or 20/40. It does not matter if I enable or disable U-APSD. It does not matter if I use the LSB or USB side.
Firmware Version:1.0.3.10 :When I got the router it had an older firmware if I remember correctly, and it would let me change to n speed.
i have a Cisco 2801 router which is running ssl vpn, previously my ssl vpn is working, but when i reset the config to factory default and restore the working config, then i experienced this problem;

I just saw the AVC feature in WLC version 7.4.100.0 and wonder, if there is a possibility to select a AVC profile per user, based on it's RADIUS authentication via ACS.For example:
- A user in group teacher can access youtube on SSID A - A user in group student can not access youtube on SSID A
560km long pipeline, intermediate station at every 30 or 40 kms. Couple of Ip phones, 2 or 3 IP camera, and few control signls (IP system) will be connected at every stations. Do not expect heavy data. Which one may be the prefered economical solution can I use
1. Ethernet network (Switch with Optical SFP ports at every site) 2. SDH equipment at every site 3. DWDM equipment (if so lower end)
