My company has a spare 7200 VXR, originally planned to be placed on our TDM network. This plan was not followed through, but I'd like to switch it's function to work as a core router on our BGP network. I'd like for this 7200 to be able to handle full routes from our eBGP peer, something the SUP module in my 6500 isn't capable of doing. What kind of SUP module should i look at replacing this 7200 VXR with?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having some issues with getting DHCP Relay to fuction properly over our SG300-20 Switch.Out current layout is as follows. Hanging off the SG300-20 are a pair of Clustered Checkpoint Gateways with VLAN'ed interfaces in Both of our 2 VLANs, a 3COM 4200G In VLAN1 which has the DHCP server (And all the other Servers) connected to it, and a Pair of HP Procurve 2520's Stacked in VLAN 2 to provide PoE for our Phones/connectivity for our PCs.The problem is I cannot get the DHCP Relay to fuction from VLAN 1 to VLAN 2. If I assign an address in VLAN 2 manually to a device connected to the Procurves, everything works fine. I am able to reach both VLAN 1 and VLAN 2, but DHCP aquisition fails even if the device is connected directly to a port assigned to VLAN 2 on the SG300. The SG300 is running at Layer 3 currently also.

I have problem with RVS4000 fw 1.3.3.5. When you switch the status of IPS function (turn on or turn off), firewall rules don´t work from that moment until you restart the router!

The 3750 switch I have runs C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M, Version 12.2(55)SE3 on a LAN BASE license.
The first thing I have done is to order for a license upgrade to IP BASE which would give the support for OSPF routing.I do not see much of an issue with the Interface configs, however, I am not too sure about replicating the routing config on the switch.
My question is can I run the commands as shown for the OSPF routing on the switch? If not, can I get suggestions on how best to set this up on the switch?

Was having problems with my router, thought I could figure out how to fix it myself, and ended up screwing it up more. Right now everything somewhat works being wired. Xbox Live is a little spotty. Have never had a problem with it before. I have done all the resets, factory resets, hard resets, and any other names. When I attempt to enter any sort of IP addresses, default Belkins and ones I see when viewing ipconfig, all it does is perform a Google Search with the numbers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have run into a problem replacing an old Linksys BEFVP41 with a SA520. The BEFVP41 had an address on the LAN defined as a DMZ. That address was another router. It is in the same subnet as the local LAN and I am not sure what ports it uses. It is controlled by an outside group and requires much delay and paperwork to change the address. The new SA520 will only support a DMZ if it is in a different subnet than the LAN. Any way to simulate the old DMZ function on the newer router? I have not yet been able to obtain a list of all ports that should go to the second router. Didn't know if there was a way to forward all ports like the old BEFVP41 does by setting a DMZ address.

and i applied this inbound accesslist on the WAN port of router as

Now i have blocked the external traffic to my network 192.168.1.0/24 but the issue i am having is i am also unable to reach outside now. All i want is to block external traffic on the router WAN port but allow internal traffic to outside. Did i miss anything in the access list?
I am experiecing issues with HSRP.I have two 7200 core routers connected via one portchannel layer 2 and i set up the HSRP.The switch 01 is the master and 02 is the bkp.the problem is, the bkp router can´t see the master and there are a lot of loggs with active-speak and can´t see the master. the configuration are ok, i just check and recheck but there are no mistakes. I have a CAB-OCT-V35-FC cable in my Cisco 7200 router and not all of them are utilized. I have to connect another site with a point to point leased line and I am planning to use one of the ports in my Cisco 7200 router which is using the CAB-OCT-V35-FC cable. My problem is both the cable end and the modem is V.35 female connector and both are DCE. I have a E4200 router, and I had previously plugged in a small external hard drive just to test the functionality. The router seemed to recognize the storage, and the computers on the network could see it as a shared drive. Now I have plugged in a Seagate 7200 internal hard drive inside a Rocketfish enclosure, but the router is not recognizing anything. I just upgraded the firmware to 1.0.04, but there was no change. Are there problems using an enclosure rather than just plugging in an external hard drive?
