Cisco WAN :: 7200 - Multicast Support In Single VRF

Mar 6, 2011

We have a client wanting us to support multicast across our network(They have multiple tails in single vrf, connected to our P/PE's(All 7200's)
(Customer is running there own RP)

As we are only providing multicast support to a single customer, On our P/PE routers is it still necessary to enable multicast routing globally, MP-BGP Loop Interfaces and tag-switching/mpls interfaces? (I'm guessing it would be as the client has tails terminating on multiple P/PE's?)

i.e.
Loop0 is MP-BGP loop
Router-PE1(config)#ip multicast-routingRouter-PE1(config)#interface Loopback0Router-PE1(config-if)#ip address 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.255Router-PE1(config-if)# [ code].....

Or, is it sufficient to enable it only within the vrf, and all Interfaces in that vrf?

Router-PE1(config)#ip multicast-routing vrf NetworkARouter-PE1(config)#ip vrf NetworkARouter-PE1(config-vrf)#rd 100:1Router-PE1(config-vrf)#route- [ code]...

Also, is the MDT default IP an address that we (client+provider) agree on?

Cisco WAN :: 7200 VXR Need To Switch Router Function

Jan 2, 2011

My company has a spare 7200 VXR, originally planned to be placed on our TDM network. This plan was not followed through, but I'd like to switch it's function to work as a core router on our BGP network. I'd like for this 7200 to be able to handle full routes from our eBGP peer, something the SUP module in my 6500 isn't capable of doing. What kind of SUP module should i look at replacing this 7200 VXR with?

Cisco WAN :: Access Control List On 7200 Router?

Dec 12, 2012

I am having some issues with creating an ACL for my gateway router.I want to block external access to my network 192.168.1.0/24 from internet so i set up the ACL on the WAN port of my 7200 router asI am using named extened access list -

{
deny ip any 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 log
permit ip any any
}
and i applied this inbound accesslist on the WAN port of router as
"ip access-group acl-in in"

Now i have blocked the external traffic to my network 192.168.1.0/24 but the issue i am having is i am also unable to reach outside now. All i want is to block external traffic on the router WAN port but allow internal traffic to outside. Did i miss anything in the access list?

Cisco :: How To Configure HQ Router To Allow Tunnels From Any IP Address

Nov 5, 2012

My current set up is 1 HQ router (2911 ISR) and 8 site offices with a non-Cisco router.Each site has an IPSEC tunnel back to the HQ router.All of the site routers have a dynamic external IP address.This set up has worked ok for now, but I would like to look at moving to GRE tunnels so traffic from the sites can be routed to each over.I have read up on the configuration and I can set up an IPSEC GRE Tunnel in test labs using a static IP address on the spokes however I have not been able to find any documentation on how to configure the HQ router to allow the tunnels from any IP address.I did try setting the tunnel destination to 0.0.0.0 on the HQ side but this does not work.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Passing IPv6IP And GRE Tunnels Through E4200 Or EA4500?

Aug 1, 2012

I'm thinking about changing my home router (have WAG300N now) and my big concern are GRE and ipv6ip tunnels. Righ now I experience that every few days WAG300N stops passing GRE traffic from inside of my network therefore my ipv6ip tunnel goes down. The only way to sove that is to completly reload WAG300N router.

passing ipv6ip and GRE tunnels through E4200 or EA4500? I see no passthrough in configuration option for those routers.Also performance question - I have 64Mbit symmetric internet connection. I guess both routers would easily handle that with SPI turned on and NAT?
