Linksys Wireless Router :: RV042 Access Through NAT Function Works Normally
Apr 4, 2012
I'm having problem with the function One-to-one of the router RV042. Access through the NAT function works normally until a certain moment redirection are being made to another address of LAN that are not correct. Just restart the router and NAT function normally again. I have the most current version of firmware v1.3.13.02.
I'm trying map the USB hard drive connected to my EA4500 router as a network drive in Windows 7, and it works perfectly until I enable secure folder access on the router.
After enabling secure folder access, and not changing any other settings on the router I first unmount the drive since it was set up without credentials and doesn't work that way any more. When I try to remap the drive I use the same address, but select "Connect using different credentials" When it prompts me for the log in info I try using the router admin account, but it fails to connect. Windows network diagnostics tells me the device refused the connection. I proceeded to set up an account on the router under the folder access settings with the same username, and password I use on my computer, and tried to connect it without checking "Connect using different credentials" (And typing them in manually if that matters) with the same results.
Even with secure folder access enabled I can still reach the drive just fine by typing "ftp://192.168.1.1/" into file explorer. It prompts me for a username and password, I put in the admin credentials, and I'm in. Even the account I created with the same username/password as my computer works this way.
After disabling secure folder access everything works perfectly fine again... I would MUCH rather do this with it though.
Following these directions: [URL] When clicking the browse button the router shows up when secure folder access is disabled, but does not after it is enabled. I've looked through my windows sharing settings, and haven't noticed anything that should cause problems, pretty much everything is enabled. I've also tried turning off my firewall with no success.
I find E1200 cannot update its ARP information by received ARP Request which is sent by the wireless station connected to it, although E1200 has reply an correct ARP response to wireless station, and this will cause VoIP drop off when roaming from E1200 to another wireless AP which is bridge to it , so is there any way to enable the ARP request learning funtion of Linksys series?
I have a RV042 router and we are trying to set-up our OWA for outside access. I can't figure out which ports or which page those ports are on to open them. We are a small company and we do not have IT except for ourselves. The internal network works fine but i can't get the Exchange access from outside.
We have an RV042 router.I'm looking for a solution where my drop-in clients would have their own WIFI key to access Internet, with no access to our LAN.
-Can I place a Wifi AccessPoint on the DMZ so my drop-in clients use it to connect to the WEB.
-While putting another Wifi AccessPoint on a regular LAN port for Employees to use and stay within the LAN?
I have a RV042:Firmware Version : v4.0.0.07-tm (Aug 19 2010 19:19:50)PID VID : RV042 V03 .Configured with a internal LAN address (10.0.17.0/24) and ISP PPPoE External address on WAN1.I´ve configured a VPN with a remote location (Fortigate 4) and after the VPN starts up the RV042 cannot ping any machine in their local network (using the diagnostic, all pings failed in 10.0.17.0/24) and no machines in that network can PING and access or manage the RV042
The only way to manage the RV042 after VPN starts UP is using a machine in the other side of the VPN (The Main office)If i force the VPN down, the connectivity begins to work, but as soon the VPN starts up again, the local/LAN connectivity loses again.
We have an RV042 as main router. We have a netgear WNR2000v2 as WIFI router. We would like to offer our drop-in customers an internet access. But without letting them into our network.
i have 2 rv042 with a vpn tunnel between them.the problem is that i can't access https over the VPN !if i telnet 192.168.10.1 443 through the VPN, it's not working either. if i telnet 192.168.10.1 443 in my 192.168.10.0 network it's working so it's reall the VPN tunnel the problem.
I have configured 2 RV042 VPN with different ISP. Tunnel connected successfully and i can ping each other router but i can't access clients which are connected to router. I have added rules also in firewall.

I am using the default configuration at this point. I just connected 1 computer using the default IP with DHCP on the RV042 router. 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0.I connect my wildblue satalite modem using a static IP address 75.106.203.xxx / 255.255.252.0 I can ping the RV042 router and the static IP address of the wildblue router but I can't ping the gateway on the wildblue side. Either from the PC or the Router diag tools.
If I were to take a e4200v2 and use it as an access point (disable DHCP), would the USB port connected to a Hard Drive still function as network storage?
Currently i am having a scenario where i have setup RV042 and which is connected to Microsoft Forefront 2010. PPTP works fine only on rv042 subnet but i am not able to access the "internal" network of TMG.RV042 (172.16.1.1) ---> TMG [external] (172.16.1.2) ---> TMG [internal] (192.168.1.1) Is there any way through static route to access the TMG internal network through RV042 pptp server?
Mac airport shows full bars in network connnection and green connected dot, but no access to internet. Ethernet connection works fine. I also couldnt connect with my Iphone.
I have Charter cable with Motorolla SB6121 modem. I've reset the modem, rebooted everything, cloned my ip address, all several times .......but still no go.
Linksys says they don't support this router anymore accept for a pay for support service, which I would like to avoid.
About 6 months ago I bought a new router (Linksys E1000 v2.1) which worked great right out of the box. A couple months later I tried to setup a home network so that my two laptops could access a shared drive on my wired desktop, but for some reason they didn't show up as being on the same network. All computers involved are running Windows 7 if that matters.
Upon a recommendation from I friend I put DD-WRT on the router and it worked fine. Setup MAC filtering and WPA2 Personal security. This worked fine for about 4 months until today.
When I got home from work today I noticed my laptop wouldn't pull up any web pages, but it said it was connected. Then I noticed my iPhone wasn't connected either. I restarted my laptop and then it wouldn't connect to the wireless either (I could see the wireless, but I would get a Could not Connect error when I tried to connect to it).
I went to my desktop and it is working just fine, it is plugged into the back of the router. I also have an AT&T MicroCell (cell phone booster) that is plugged in to the back of the router and it works fine too.
I removed the encryption and MAC filtering. I then reset to factory (or "factory" DD-WRT) and now the wireless works, but it is MUCH slower than my desktop. I ran a speedtest on my desktop and got 12 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. On my laptop, I get 0.03 Mbps down and 0.25 Mbps up.
Restarting the e4200 did not work. Resetting using the switch at the back did not resolve the issue. I was able to reset it via the 192.168.1.1 web page. After restoring my settings from backup, the issue remained the same. This was not alleviated after I updated the firmware. Plugging into one of the ports with a cat5 cable with my Mac, I was able to get an IP, yet I was not able to surf; same case with my MacBook.
Doing the 30-30-30 reboot did not fix this issue and all the while the front white light on the router went and stayed, solid. To see if I could get this to do ANY sort of meaningful internetting (is that even a word?) I put the e4200 in bridge mode and when I put the cable modem in, and all that plugs into this router works. This, of course, means that there is:
my mother in law thought she forgot her wifi password so i tried to do a reseti reset it then no internet at all and could not access the router gateway page (192.168.1.1)I had to set the internet protocol to default and 2 power cycles later i can access the internet. Then i used the linksys disc to set up the security and now it doesn't work can't access nothing through ie.
lost wireless to all wireless devices (laptop, iPhone and iPad). Still have hard wired ethernet internet access from desktop. Tried resetting router, powering off router, resetting and powering off cable modem. Nothing works. Lights on router all on.
I have the WRT610N and would like to add an extender for the wifi in my house.Does the WBR-1310 work? If yes, how do I set that up? If it doesn't work, any device that can give me a better range in the house?
I have an E1200 model 1 router. I've owned it for over a year and it's given me no problems until now...Hardwired ethernet connections work fine, but the wifi no longer works consistently. I have several wireless-N wifi devices that either cannot connect to the router at all (they present an error message), or do connect but will not load anything over the connection, or will load web pages very very slowly and then suddenly drop the connection. When I go to the DCHP client table, I see all of my ethernet connections but it does not show any wifi devices, even if the WiFi device is showing a connection to the router. The wifi connection is secured via WPA2 Personal.I have tried changing channels to one that was not congested with any other nearby routers. I have also tried a 30-30-30 factory reset. I am updated to the latest firmware version (1.0.03). I am sure I am entering the correct pass phrase to connect over WPA2. All of my wifi devices are confirmed to be wireless-n, not g or b.
Recently added a NookColor to my toys. Works fine except at home. The device shakes hands with the router but won't connect. Nook connects seamlessly with every other network I've tried. Had my Bro-in-law over with his Anfroid based mobile devices and they won't connect either. We currently are running 4 boxes (2 @ desktop and laptop) off this router with no problems. As near as I can figure the latest firmware update (2007) can't handle the Android OS protocol and while they recognize each other they won't speak or play nice.Any options y'all know of short of replacing the router with a shiny new one ?
Model wrt54gsWindows xpI got the wireless network setup and password protected and my computer and phone can sign o the wireless network, but when I try to go to a website it doesn't work. If I connect te computer directly to the modem then it works.
I have a E4200 v1, connected with a few PCs by ethernet ports and various devices by wifi. Now the wireless devices work perfectly but sometimes the PC via ethernet ports cannot connect to LAN and internet.
I just set up my new e1200 wireless router. The wireless connection works great but on my desktop (which is plugged in through the ethernet), has a painfully slow connection. Half the time it times out while loading a website!
Was having problems with my router, thought I could figure out how to fix it myself, and ended up screwing it up more. Right now everything somewhat works being wired. Xbox Live is a little spotty. Have never had a problem with it before. I have done all the resets, factory resets, hard resets, and any other names. When I attempt to enter any sort of IP addresses, default Belkins and ones I see when viewing ipconfig, all it does is perform a Google Search with the numbers.
We recently upgraded from a Linksys WRT54G router to a Cisco RV042 to gain "gateway-to-gateway" automated VPN access. However, we are unable to get "client to gateway" access working.
With the Linksys WRT54G we used a "username" "password" pair for remote client authenication. This worked for both Windows and Mac OS X users using the built-in PPTP client. We found we had to set "encryption" value to "none" on the client side.
I am confused by the setup screens on the RV042. It looks like I must setup a "tunnel" (VPN->Client to Gateway), there is (VPN->VPN Client Access) where I can enter a username/password, and also (VPN->PPTP Server) where another username/password pair can be entered. I have tried all sorts of combinations but "no love". I am particularly mystified by the (VPN->Client to Gateway) settings for "Remote Client Setup"; the client can be calling in from anywhere and there is an option for "Dynamic IP + Email Address" but I'm not sure how that maps onto the client (do they use the email address as their account name?). I have also looked at defining a "Group VPN" where I am given other options. But nothing works from the client.
I just need to come up with some setup that works, that I can document to both PC and Mac users at a miniumum.
Can I daisy chain an RV042 and a WRTSL54GS and have them work properly? I would like to take advantage of the VPN piece of the RV042 (as the primary router) and the wireless and storage capabilities of the WRTSL54GS.
I wonder if the version of Cisco AP 4410N WAP SSH works, because since I bought the equipment funciou never the same, the user is not the same as the web access and I saw no default setting for this in the cisco site.it is necessary to reset the table mac and other resources that are not possible via WEB GUI..I wonder if the version of Cisco AP 4410N WAP SSH works, because since I bought the equipment funciou never the same, the user is not the same as the web access and I saw no default setting for this in the cisco site.It has some important information about this topic, it is necessary to reset the table mac and other resources that are not possible via WEB GUI.
