vrf ping is not happening between two pe devices in 7609 router having VS-S-2T-10G modules with 15.1 SY1 IOS version? Is there any commands need to add? between pe devides ldp is running properly and ibgp too. I am doubtful about VS-S-2T module.

The circuit has been tested as clean , so for the moment we have to assume that it is not a circuit issue We also have another idential 7600 in another POP with similar config that does not display the same problem
We phace disconnections when having a dozen open connections.Does the Cisco devices have a documented limitation on the buffer size or the number of telnet connections?

I configured Gi0/2 as L3 port, connecting to the nearest neighbor. My network runs EIGRP so i advertised the routes into the EIGRP process. The switch forms EIGRP neighbors and learns all routes in the enterprise network. The problems I'm having now are: 1. The switch learns all routes in my enterprise LAN and can ping devices in the enterprise LAN, but I can’t ping any interface on the switch from the enterprise LAN. 2.

I have a Cisco 871 router and I have successfully added a second vlan and connected a switch configured with that VLAN. Anyways, my problem is the device in my new VLAN (vlan200) are able to ping/access devices on vlan1. I do not want this to happen. I read somewhere that the 871 routes between VLAN's by default.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had both a Westell 7500 and a Linksys Router working fine and had my 360 setup as an extender for Windows Media Center so I could stream TV, Music, Movies, etc from my desktop to the 360. Then I switched my modem/router out with a Zyxel PH5001Z
So now today I noticed that I can no longer find my desktop through the XBox. I have adjusted my firewall settings on the modem itself, even completely disabling it. UPnP is enabled for the 360 and the device is showing under my device table. At first I wasn't able to ping any network devices but after creating an ICMPv4 Firewall rule it worked fine. I've confirmed the XBox IP Address through Network Map, the Device Table on the modem and through Network Settings on the XBox. I've diabled my modem firewall as well as Windows Firewall, completely and I still can't ping my XBox or set it up as an Extender.
I have the XBox connected wirelessly using WPA2-Personal and it's operating in 802.11g/n mode.
I have 4 x 2960 switches in a remote site. These are managed by an NMS in our DC, the NMS IP ends in 35.100 with a /23 mask.
When they are first booted, the switches are visable to the NMS, but after a week or 2, 3 of them drop connection to it. If you reboot them again they are fine. You are able to log onto them form thier local router and use a Radius server which is in the same subnet as the NMS.
The odd thing is, whilst they can not ping the NMS, they are able to ping any other addresses in the 34.0/23 range.
The config on the one that does not lose connection is the same as the other 3 and I have also rebooted the NMS.
I'm trying to configure a 2800 series router. .I'm consoled in and put a basic config on the router (see attached). After putting this basic config on, I plugged it into a small unmanaged switch, changed my laptop's IP and plugged it in the switch also. I can't ping the router from the laptop and vice versa. This is the second switch I've tried this with, so it must be.The first switch, I installed at location, connected a cisco cable to it and a local server, so i could remote in and finish configuration. In that scenario, I had plugged the switch into a managed switch and had the same result as I'm getting now--can't ping IP addresses (can't ping the switch's IP, not can it ping local IPs).

Recently I added 3 more cabinets to the mix, for a total of 12 cabinets with 2 switches each.
I can get into the new switches and see the FEX's and configure ports, etc. but no device I attach to the 'new' N2K's is pingable over the network. I can take the same device, same cable, and attach it to a legacy N2K talking to the same N5K's, and it immediately joins and is pingable over the network
We have ASA 5520 configured for failover and it was working fine. When we wanted to reload the firewall and inactive( Primary) to become Active , we saw that it is in Failed state. The DMZ2 interface in the capture below is the logical sub-interface , but is in Failed State. The other sub-interface on the physical interface Gig0/2 are all fine for the Failed Firewall.

On my old server which I've run Minecraft on for two years now, I've finally shut that down, and am now starting three FPS servers (or trying to) - CoD4, Four Delta One MW2, and Urban Terror... CoD4 is meant to be running though 28960, MW2 through 28961, and UrT through 27960... Although the Four Delta One server seems to be binding to ports and connecting properly, the other two don't. I've tried running the CoD4 server through 28961 as well, but it doesn't seem to show through there either, even though MW2 does. The error is 'WARNING: UDP_OpenSocket: bind: WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL' on both servers.The ports are definitely forwarded.. [code]

All devices connected to DLink can access internet/email fine and can ping the WRV210, however, they can not ping any device connected to the WRV210 router, nor can any device on the WRV210 ping devices on the DLink writeless bridge. All devices are on the same subnet, 192,168.100.X with mask 255.255.255.0. All devices get their address from the WRV210.

Because of the high traffic volume, we have to use multiple multilinks. 7609 router doesn't allow ppp multlink to span SIPs, so we use multiple mulitilinks between sites on different SIPs. OSPF for load balancing will be used. THE PROBLEM IS: when we define the second ppp multilink between two 7609 routers, the new multilink stays "inactive". We have a lab network set up with a 7609 router as the central core. Scenario: Laptop with a SIP client. In the lab is a session border controller that will route signaling and media to a SIP gateway with a call agent (172.23.112.201) and a media "handler" (172.23.113.6). The call processing device will forward packets to an RF network (108.x.x.x) where an NCS cable modem sits.Call signaling works perfectly fine. However, RTP traffic from the laptop to the NCS phone is getting routed incorrectly. RTP traffic from the phone to the laptop works fine. [code]
Packet captures show the laptop to phone RTP packets are being routed back towards the corporate router. These time out with ICMP TTL exceeded packets. There are static routes for 172.23.113.0/27 to the optical interfaces that go to the SIP gateway. Interestingly, I can ping an IP on the SIP gateway (not used for media, but is pingable) in that static range (172.23.113.1) just fine from the 7609 (i.e. it's not getting routed to the corporate router). Unfortunately, the IP for the media endpoint on the SIP gateway is not pingable. Config for the 7609 is attached.
I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.

View 25 Replies View RelatedI have a scenario with 2 7609s connected through a MPLS service with 10 GE. In each7609 we have a 24 port channelized T1 Circuit Emulation Over Card.
The requirement is in 2 parts. First, we need to provide a T1 emulation service between the 2 7609s T1 cards.
The second requirement is that in one end there is an OC3 port, so the customer wants to send the traffic from this emulated T1 onto the OC3.
I am currently setting up a new VRF on a Cisco 7609 which is advertising (as a RR-Client) an iBGP route to a Juniper MX960. This route is then getting sent back to the default route table on the 7609 but rejected due to the cluster-id loop prevention. Although not ideal I need this route to be visible in both tables.Is there a way of changing the bgp cluster-id per VRF rather than just globally?

As my home network becomes more advanced, I recently just added a Cisco ASA5505, I am thinking about swapping those unmanaged devices, 4 of them, to managed. I was looking at the Cisco SG300-10 for upstairs, and a 16 port variant for my main core. These devices do not support full Cisco IOS cli, but they are manageable with a rich feature set nonetheless. My question is, should I swap the unmanaged devices with the more expensive Cisco devices, or just keep what works and save the money until I really need to spend it. As previously stated, my home LAN works just fine as it is, however my WiFi, NTV550s, server and workstations are all on the same network. Probably not the most secure but it is what it is without VLAN support.
