Is this only support on Router? such as Cisco 7200. or not, to take effect same functional on C7609, what is the command for that?
We are using CISCO LMS 4.2.3 in our network in India, we are facing a issue regarding alarm generation for a protocol flap/down, especially when BGP / OSPF neighbourship got flapped.These flapping will result in the data service degradation , by which we came to know that some protocol flap may occurred at router end & then we go for the manual check by login into the router.after escalating the same to cisco we came to know that it is a bug of Cisco LMS. using any other method/technique to view the protocol down alarms automatically for cisco routers.

I am facing an isssues with 7609 for LAN switching , based on LAN (VRRP/HSRP) feature.Actually we are having ES+ cards (on 7609) and we are using multiple groups(say 350 vrrp groups) running on the router . the routers are connected as router 1>>> mux(which is working as switches)>>> router2
my questing are
1. does their will be "multicast packets" (for VRRP/HSRP group) "from backup router to Master router", when in stable state( ie when Master and backup are already chosen) , or the packet from backup to master should be unicast.I know for sure, the packet from master to back is multicast packets denstination to Multicast IP packet and To MAC address.I am not sure but I think from backup to master it should be multicast
2. what is frequency of these packets( from backup to master)
3. As i have multiper group on a single interface ( we are using q-in-q), when the connectivity from router's is broken, then does all the groups will muticast their active roll in the lan sengment "at once" or it will be in a groups say 100 groups at once, and after few ms few 100's and sone ( as is on OSPF or RIP)
we are in between troubleshooting I hope we get the ans( Actul problem we are seeing in the router's that we have 2 ports on active routers and 2 ports on standby router , but we are not seeing muticast on 1 port on standby router where as all other 3 ports are seeing multicast packets) [code]
On a pair of my CISCO7609-s (engine:sup720-3B IOS Version:12.2(33)SRD4),some interfaces is configured as routing interface but also them are attend MSTP caculation and i really caught BPDU packet go out from these ports. [code]

I've Cisco7609-S with IOS 12.2(33)SRC2 met an issue is that "show ip route x.x.x.x" and "show ip cef x.x.x.x" shown next-hop is not actual switched next-hop.
For example, "show ip route 192.168.1.1" and "show ip cef 192.168.1.1" shown correct next-hop is 10.1.1.1, but the traffic destine to 192.168.1.1 actually not through 10.1.1.1, but always through the default route next-hop. Everything works normal after rebooted the router. Suppose it should caused by a bug? BTW, my Cisco7609 is runing BGP with ISP which received about 10K routes.

There are two part subnet of my network, each part use same device type, same running-configs and same network topple: sw6506(to campus)--->sw3560(to buildings)<--->linksys sr324(to offices). IP addresses for manager vlan is 192.168.1.0/24.Suppose we name two part subnet as A and B. the problem is from 7609 I can telnet to every device of part A quickly, but when telnet to each sw3560 of part B,it responses very slowly. And only sw3560 of part B are response slowly, other devices of part B are ok.If I telnet to linksys sr324 first, then from linksys sr324 telnet to the current sw3560, it's ok.I try to capture packets of manage vlan, but there seems no strange things in it.No users of part B report problems, it seems the network is running well. Compare two sw6506s, the only diffirent thing is, there are "overrun" count at each interface in use of part B's sw6506. Each interface traffic is far less than it's capability, but it's "overun" count still increasing at working hours everyday.

I have a 7609 with two LAG groups (Etherchannel not LACP) going to two separate devices that DO NOT participate in spanning-tree (Occam gear if you must know). I'm running 802.1w across the LAG groups but the convergence time is terrible! In essence, the 7609 is running spanning tree against itself (between the two blades). What can I do to fix my configuration?
If I disable the ports on the equipment connected to g1/17 & g1/18, it takes ~30 seconds for spanning tree to start forwarding on g2/17 & g2/18.When I bring the ports back up on the other side of g1/17 & g1/18 which are in a lag group, g2/17 & g2/18 immediately go into block mode while g1/17 & g1/18 start learning for another ~30 seconds!! I am having a cisco 7609-S router with the image sup-bootdisk:c7600rsp72043-ADVIPSERVICESK9-mz.122-33.SRD7.bin. Im getting above 95% cpu spike for 10 mins in every 2hrs of interval, after it has been integrated with Ciscoworks LMS version 3.2.1 and added this to HUM. In LMS the HUM polling has been configured for every 1hr to monitor the cpu and memory utilization.
I have gone through the below cisco document and I have configured all of the snmp-server view commands as illustrated in the below website.[URL] After configuring the same, now we are observing the cpu spike every 4 hrs or i would say 5 hrs... I have checked all the settings of ciscoworks LMS and there is absolutely no other jobs are running in the day time... The spike comes every 4 hrs.

Quiet frequently we are getting High CPU load problems on our router and this load comes down below 10 % automatically.

We have a lab network set up with a 7609 router as the central core. Scenario: Laptop with a SIP client. In the lab is a session border controller that will route signaling and media to a SIP gateway with a call agent (172.23.112.201) and a media "handler" (172.23.113.6). The call processing device will forward packets to an RF network (108.x.x.x) where an NCS cable modem sits.Call signaling works perfectly fine. However, RTP traffic from the laptop to the NCS phone is getting routed incorrectly. RTP traffic from the phone to the laptop works fine. [code]
Packet captures show the laptop to phone RTP packets are being routed back towards the corporate router. These time out with ICMP TTL exceeded packets. There are static routes for 172.23.113.0/27 to the optical interfaces that go to the SIP gateway. Interestingly, I can ping an IP on the SIP gateway (not used for media, but is pingable) in that static range (172.23.113.1) just fine from the 7609 (i.e. it's not getting routed to the corporate router). Unfortunately, the IP for the media endpoint on the SIP gateway is not pingable. Config for the 7609 is attached.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCisco... Have two new 3750X switches (24P-L, and 48PF) trying to stack. Brought them up together a few weeks ago with the 24P using LANBase and the 48 IPBase. The expected happened. They saw each other in the stack ring, and the 24 port was excluded due to license miss match. This was corrected. Now both are IPBase.Now I have the two switches stacked, and boot the 48 and 24 at the same time. Monitoring the 48 I get a check message "FIPS: Flash key check: End, Not found. FIPS: Stacking Not Found". The 48 does confirm the stack cable is connected. This happens early in the boot process, before master election.OK.... Now looking at the 24 Port. After applying the new license, and actually booting successfully and few times. It will no longer load the boot file. Wants an environment variable. Going to have to dig into ancient history for that. Had to deal with that one about 8 years ago. Do not feel that is part of the stack disable issue though.

srr-queue bandwidth shape 5 0 0 0
srr-queue bandwidth limit 50
On 3750, the bandwidth for queue 1 is limited to 100mbps x 50% / 5 = 10mbps
On 3560, the bandwidth for queue 1 is limited to the smaller value of BW / shape weight and BW x limit%.
Does it sound about right? is there a way to check for mls qos input queue drops? The show mls qos interface xxx stat only shows the output queue drops. Maybe for some reason the input queue never drops?
I am on a call right now troubleshooting some latency issue. The CPU usage on the sup card is low. Don't see any drops or input errors. I am aware that the switch and its modules have capability limits. Is there command I can run which will tell me if any module is overloaded or if the fabric/backplane is over utilized?My chassis is WS-C6513 and sup card is WS-SUP720-3B.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a bad power surge yesterday that took out a 2960g switch and the APC UPS that it was connected too. when plugged in the fan comes on and the syst light stays amber and the rps, stat, duplex. and speed light stay lit and the port lights for ports 21-24 stay lit. plugging it into the console on boot I cant even see rommon, so i dont think its even booting. I would like to find a pinout and voltage guide for the connector comming off the power supply so I can check the voltages coming off the power supply to tell if it is a bad PSU or if it took out the main board.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are currently implementing the new Prime LMS (4.1), and we met some strange problems with the «Alarms» (footer/bottom right).Under implementation we had a bunch of false positive alerts, so we went in and ticked of all of them to choose «Own it» and «Clear».Something happened and the browser crashed, and when opening the browser again and browsing to the “Fault monitor” from “Alarms” could we see that all the alarms was cleared from the view, but LMS was still telling us that there is two alarms (down in the footer/bottom right).
When going into the “Fault monitor” from clicking on “Alarms” we got the “spinning wheel of death”.The browser crashes after a while and we have to log in again.Now, when we have some alarms after rebooting the WLC’s, we get the 6 alarms from interfaces down, but the two remaining alarms it’s talking about is nowhere to be found.
Future more, the browser crashes yet again after a while and we have to log in again.If we are doing other tasks, and keeping away from the “Fault monitor” everything is working fine.The browser crash/lms hang occurs only when accessing the “Fault monitor” section.
We have looked everywhere for what is causing this. Something with the two alarms that’s lost in the system keeps the browser/lms to crash. But damned if I can find where to get rid of them / clear them.
I am unable to see the interface down alarms on my cisco works LMS 4.0 .
This problem is happening only for the Gigabit interfaces , i m receiving the alarms for the POS interfaces . The router status is showning as known .i have also added this interface in poller also .
This coming from multiple servers, but mostly its generated by the most utilized ACS server.At this time, we are running ACS 5.3.0.40.6
No impact just annoying alarms. How to stop these alarms ?
Am using OOB modems on network resource routers used as aaa clients.Nothing connected to ACS console ports.Only 8 character usernames with AD.
I do see a few software defect / enhancements for ACS ver 5.3. When they will be fixed / enhanced?
