View 4 Replies View RelatedMy PC will connect just fine, but it is the only device on my network that the router will allow internet access. The router will allow other devices (DVR, laptop, nook) to connect to it, but won't allow those devices to connect to the internet. Each device will show the same error, - "connected to linksys - no internet". I've reset the router many times with no results.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Windows 7 laptop that is replacing an older XP machine that has successfully operated for a number of years with internet connection sharing from an XP desktop host computer. I am unable to set up the new machine to access the internet. The SysInfo data for the new computer is:
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2328M CPU @ 2.20GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 42

The client has its IP address set automatically by the HOMENET wireless router, along with a manually set gateway address to route internet signals through the host computer rather through the router. I am new to Windows 7 and have not been able to set up the client to see or share files between the host and client when connected by wireless. When connected by a LAN connection to the router, I can see both computers and share files between them, but have not been able to connect to the internet. The Win 7 machine can connect directly to RESNET and access the internet that way but the incoming signal averages about 45% which is far below the level needed for acceptable use.
I want to share one broadband connection between network A 192.168.1.xxx and network B 192.168.0.xxx. Network A is SBS 2008 while B is Linux with static IPs.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently went into my router and changed my security settings so that my router is WEP protected. I was having issues with somebody feeding off on my connection and causing problems with my Internet provider. I had changed it to be a secured network before but somehow it became unsecured. So, I set up an admin password and such so nobody else should be able to get into my outer . Anyway, after setting it up to with the WEP, now I cannot access the Internet from any other device except my main PC to which the router is connected.I usually get some sort of error stating that there is "limited on no connectivity" when I try to connect my laptop or Archos Home Tablet device. Yet, is reads that the signal strength is excellent and recognizes my network as existing.

I was able to do this with my old WRT-54G but the DIR-825 is giving me trouble. My main problem occurs when I try to block access to "Other Machines". When I do that all devices on my network are cut off the internet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought an e4200 with firmware version 2.0.36 from Costco.I have set it up manually and have access to the internet for all of my wired and wireless devices.Unfortunately, I cannot access the USB storage via mounting a share, the media server or the FTP server. I have plugged in a USB storage device that is formatted with FAT32. The router detects it and allows me to create new shares in the Storage->Disk menu and Storage->Media Server menu - so I know it can read the device and see the folders. Strangely if I click "Scan All" in the Media Server, it finishes very quickly and never updates the "Last scanning time" field. There was a brief moment when the router showed up in the Network->Computer section of File Explorer, but I can't get it to show here again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a CDMA compatible modem which connects to my Desktop PC via USB.it works fine, but I'd like to share my internet connection with another Laptop, Wirelessly via a Router. The router connects to my Pc via Lan cable. I activated Internet Connection Sharing in the properties of my modem and connected it to the Internet.I hoped my Router would detect an Internet connection on My network and would enable internet connectivity on My wireless AP on the Router. But it didnt. is that windows refelcts "internet access" on both the actual Wireless network on my Router ("49 network") , and on both the Physical Connection to my pc via the Ethernet port ("3G Router") my laptop connects to the router, but without access to the internet, and I keep getting an 'unable to resolve host' message in my Browser. Suspecting my Router of somehow causing the problem I also tried setting up an Ad hoc network instead (using my wlan card to interface with the Laptop directly). They connect fine, and my Printers and other shared resources all appear, but the wireless range between them is like bluetooth compared to the great range of my router.& I still cant manage to share an Internet connection between the two machines!

The USB acts as 3G modem for a single PC that's connected to it, what I want is to share that internet using my D-Link DIR-655 router so I'd be able to connect my iPhone and PS3 as well.
How to get that setup working as smoothly as possible would be great. DIR-655's default gateway is 192.168.0.1, and the auto DHCP range IIRC is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.

I also have a small home network, with one other PC and a Game Console. I own a Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router. My problem is this. How do I share that internet connection with the rest of the home network? To the best of my knowledge its not possible to connect my mobile phone directly to my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router.
So my alternative idea is to connect to the internet via one PC, set up that internet connection as "Shared." and then allow the other devices on the home network to connect thru this. My question is how do I set up my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router to allow my other PC and game console connect to the internet? Bridge Mode? PPPoE?
I just set up my e2000 on a PC using Windows 7. I am additionally trying to set up additional devices on the network. The two that I am currently working with are:Dell Latitude d240 running Windows XP.HTC Evo smartphone running Android
I can't get these on the network through the e2000. They can access the internet through the e2000 but only as a guest and therefore don't have the same level of security. What do I need to do to successfully put the above devices on the network?
