Hide Internet History From Wireless Routers Owner?
Mar 28, 2011
I'm using wireless iternet supplied by my roomate. They have the router and service, and have given me code for use on my computer. How do I hide my web history in a way that at least they don't know what it is if seen?
Privacy in the web, I have a new laptop and I want to know if my verizon router will store my browsing history if I use Incognito mode or privacy mode? Because I don't need people seeing what I was doing.
My wireless laptop connects fine with my wireless WiFi but, I'm unable to connect to the internet with my Ipad? I don't think it's a problem with my modum. The Ipad asks for my OWNER-PC Network password which I don't have. The one I have written down doesn't work? How do I find or change my password?
I named my network "abc," and the system appends "-guest" to it, i.e.., "ABC-guest", to use as the guest network name. I want to hide the name of the primary/private network completely. Why can't I do that? I know I can use a different password.
I just purchased a E4200 and I have some questions;
1. I have the hardware version 1, and I noticed the hardware version 2 has a newer version of Cisco Connect. Can I use the newer version of Cisco Connect on my E4200 V1?
2. Is there a way to hide passwords in Cisco Connect and in the browser UI for the router?
3. Is there a way to have a separate admin password and wireless password?
I also have a issue, I want the browser web UI to display in english, but it insists on changing it back to my native language from time to time.
I am looking for a way to hide all that information that can be retrieved about me, for example browser, OS, resolution, location, etc.. Is there a way to prevent the sites from getting that info?
I just want to know how or is it possible to hide sent/receive packets from the Router I cracked few days ago?I'm using wifi card airlive wl-1600 usb and the router is TP-Link.I mean how much is possible to hide my connectivity and everything from me with this router?
I know that when you surf the web, websites can log your IP & MAC address. If you get my jist, I don't want my laptop to be flagged on a few web sites I have been on.My plan is to use another pc, that has a wireless braodband dongle from a mobile phone company. The pc will be attched to the wireless router via Ethernet, but banned from access the web via the router. This way I can connect remotley from my laptop.
I have a program that connects to a game I play and does some actions on my game accounts (selling items etc).
I have set up several accounts to generate "income" in game and want to alter/hide the IP address shown connecting to those accounts so that my own IP is only associated with my main account. However it's an MSDOS program and I dont want to alter the IP shown/used for other programs on my pc.
Is there a way to alter the IP shown for specific programs only? And will it handle MSDOS programes?
We use filter rules on an ASA5510 firewall to direct clients to a web filtering server which generally works very well. However lately we're finding that despite having more web filtering licenses than users, the web filtering licenses are being consumed up, mainly because of a recent increase in the rollout of ipads, iphones, androids etc. We could deploy a proxy server in the wireless DMZ to make all the wireless devices appear to web filter as a single IP, and apply a single policy, but that brings it's own problems. My question is: Is there a way to hide them all behind the interface IP instead, so that all wireless devices appear to the web filter on the LAN as the wireless dmz interface IP rather than the wireless device IP?
I have configured a L2L VPN on a Cisco 1841 ISR. I am statically NATing some of my internal hosts to IP addresses that are included in the encrypted traffic. Please note that not all of the internal hosts are being NATed. I am doing this to hid some of the real IP addresses on the inside network. I have confirmed that the VPN works, as well as the NATing of the VPN traffic. I have traditionally configured L2L VPNs on Cisco ASA 5500 series appliances, and this is my first attempt with the 1841 ISR. I just want other to take a look a see if I missed anything, or, could I have done some of the configuration more efficiently. All comments are welcome.
I Lease fiber between two locations, My operator limiting number of MAC addresses to 8 macs. Is there any possibility using some feature available in the Cisco 3750 switches to (hide mac addresses) encapsulate traffic witch flowing via operator network ?
I need to send data between locations with 1Gb/s speed. If 3750 switches can't do that, which models of switches 1 or 2U can do it. May Metro switches ?
how to hide Wireless SSID via Wireless controllers (one I am using is 5505)
Currently anyone can attmept to login to it as i cant find any options to hide it! Screen shot below)
what measures I should take to secure the APS and from access, currently considering port security and static mac addresses on ports; traffic is already got ACLS on its vlan. I have little to no experience on Wireless devices.
I'm running a cisco 891 with ios Version 15.2(4)M3 ,now I have a dialer 0 interface with fast0 and 1 as well, all is working fine.now I just read about the new sh int 'INT' history feature but when I do it I get nothing.. not a graph or anything I get just nothing as if I just hit enter.anything I need to do to enable the feature?,if I do a sho proc cpu history that works just fine but not the sh int XYZ history commands
I have been appointed to monitor an internet networking consist of 4 computers.
1. To block some websites for all 4 computers. Example, maybe if I want to block YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. or any website. This is actually to prevent users to access any adult site.I dont want to block internet entirely. But just to block some website only.
2. To have a report for internet URL for each computer. Not a bandwidth or traffic report. I dont need that. What I want is a list of URL that the user have surf in the internet.
How can i monitor users web and URL history with monitoring utilities?i am using solarwinds orion but i don't know how can i monitor web and URL histories.does this software have this ability or not?
I was wondering if the ASA 5520 Firewall had the ability to view web traffic or site surfing or does this only work if I have a logging server configured for the ASA to log to? I don't use the ASA much since I'm the database administrator for my company but from time to time I'm asked when nobody else is available. I just checked the ASDM & see that the buffer clears after so many lines & I don't believe we've got a logging server.
I'm both concerned and pissed off that my creepy housemate might've used our network to invade my privacy, steal expensive multimedia & valuable personal info, and may have continued access to my computers. I have a Win7Home laptop and a Win7Prof desktop. Both have a Windows password.I was attempting to back-up files from my laptop to my desktop ~2 weeks ago, so I created a Shared Folder and put files in there. After the copying was done, while I was moving the folders from the Shared Folder to a private folder on my desktop computer, there was an error message for one of the folders, saying it was open in another window... this was strange, since it definitely hadn't been opened within weeks by me. But it resolved immediately (like they got alerted). And of all the folders, it's one which my stalker roommate would def be interested in.
Also, I recently noticed that there are Remote Desktop Connection icons on both my computers (with "Allow" checked on laptop only). They were created 49 seconds apart, that NEXT morning. They reside in the same parent folder as where the shared folder resides (Documents folder on laptop and a Partition on the desktop). It is possible that I created the RDCs by accident while amateurly trying to network the my PCs, or could they be offspring from a trojan/DLL file which was placed in the Shared folder by my creepy roommate...? As "admin" over our router, would he have been alerted to the fact that I shared a folder? I'd enabled "Home" network and discovery for my computers. Could he access other NONshared folders if my computer was visible? Can router admins view a window that can constantly track network computer activity?
We are using the ASA 5520 as Firewall and VPN gateway for remote access by employees and vendors. Is there a way to view a history of VPN user logins? We used to have (or we still have but no longer using it) th CVPN 3005. This device keeps log files of all activities. I miss having this capability in the ASA 5520.
Our enterprise uses a VPN Concentrator 3000 for our VPN access. Is there a way to view a log history of what user connected to VPN and what IP address they were assigned? It would be for 2 days ago which was over the weekend.
I want to do something with IP SLA and started by estabilishing a baseline.
I'm trying to check history on an ASR. I tested same config on a 3845 and was forgetting the "history filter all". After this I could see history table on 3845 but still history is empty on the ASR1006. The operation started because I can see information with "show ip sla statistics".
know if i missed something or maybe this is not supported in ASR1006?
