I am unable to see the interface down alarms on my cisco works LMS 4.0 .
This problem is happening only for the Gigabit interfaces , i m receiving the alarms for the POS interfaces . The router status is showning as known .i have also added this interface in poller also .
We are using CISCO LMS 4.2.3 in our network in India, we are facing a issue regarding alarm generation for a protocol flap/down, especially when BGP / OSPF neighbourship got flapped.These flapping will result in the data service degradation , by which we came to know that some protocol flap may occurred at router end & then we go for the manual check by login into the router.After escalating the same to cisco we came to know that it is a bug of Cisco LMS. using any other method/technique to view the protocol down alarms automatically for cisco routers.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI've got a a customer that is using a single sign on product that uses agents installed on the customer's domain controllers. This works fine accept for one scenario. When the customer transitions from a wired to wireless connection or vice versa. We have determined the reason for this is that the DCs are not getting Windows logon events ie 540 on 2003 servers or 4624 on 2008+. The users have files shares mapped onto member servers but refreshing those is not hitting the DCs.
Any way to ensure hitting a domain resource generates a logon event on a DC without directly mapping a resource on a DC. If it matters there are 50 domain controllers and around 200 member servers spread all over 48 states.
I have a WCS working on version 7.0.172.0.Is there a way to send the alarms produced by WCS to another Syslog Server?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are currently implementing the new Prime LMS (4.1), and we met some strange problems with the «Alarms» (footer/bottom right).Under implementation we had a bunch of false positive alerts, so we went in and ticked of all of them to choose «Own it» and «Clear».Something happened and the browser crashed, and when opening the browser again and browsing to the “Fault monitor” from “Alarms” could we see that all the alarms was cleared from the view, but LMS was still telling us that there is two alarms (down in the footer/bottom right).
When going into the “Fault monitor” from clicking on “Alarms” we got the “spinning wheel of death”.The browser crashes after a while and we have to log in again.Now, when we have some alarms after rebooting the WLC’s, we get the 6 alarms from interfaces down, but the two remaining alarms it’s talking about is nowhere to be found.
Future more, the browser crashes yet again after a while and we have to log in again.If we are doing other tasks, and keeping away from the “Fault monitor” everything is working fine.The browser crash/lms hang occurs only when accessing the “Fault monitor” section.
We have looked everywhere for what is causing this. Something with the two alarms that’s lost in the system keeps the browser/lms to crash. But damned if I can find where to get rid of them / clear them.
I have ACS 5.2 and would like to know if I can schedule a report to be sent to my email address each Sunday for example for all the failed and succeeded attempts for devices authentication.

Facing false alarm issues with ANM 5.2.1. Basically ANM is sending device down (ACE-30 module) messages occasionally, but in real the device has never went down.

I have setup a new Prime server 1.2 and am monitoring routers and switches from it. It shows me the device status and all as expected. now when i manually turn off the connectivity of one switch, i do see the alarm generated by the Prime but it doesnt send the email notification.
i checked my mail server settings and have right details of the mail server and email address of the recipient. Also when i run test on that page, i can see the test email coming through.
Upgraded LMS to 4.1. Yep basically reinstalled. However I can't remember how I did a couple of thing on the original system.
I am trying to take the traps from the Cisco equipment to the LMS and generate e-mail. How do I take the incoming traps (Crit and Warning) and send an e-mail alarm. I'll plan to control what to trap on at the Cisco Equipment.
SNMP trap is set from a fan fault, the Cisco send a trap to the LMS. Now I want take that trap and forward via an email.
I have been reading the admin documentation on "Notification and Action Setting". I see how to take the Cisco LMS created trap and email alarm. (In this case I need a specific trap that LMS did not have.) I see how to take Cisco Traps and resend them to other NMS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I had came across 1 issue where one of the server IP had conflicted with VIP of Nexus core switch. The blade server was physically connected to Nexus Distribution switch which in turn connects to Nexus core. Neither Nexus core nor distribution had generate any logs in regards to IP conflict which ideally happens on Cisco catalyst switches. I haven't find any document on cisco as well as on internet for this issue . I dont know what logging need to enable on Nexus for this specific case . There are different logging levels define for every feature like hsrp, ip,monitor etc...

Everytime the console port is plugged in, the alarm contacts (1-4) randomly assert (trigger) and then clear themselves in random orders. Nothing is plugged into the ALARM port and all Alarm setting are default. Below is the syslog message and Alarm Settings:

I have a TD-W8951ND v5 on the latest firmware.
I recently broke my broadband data cap which surprised me as I had not been using the internet much.
I only have tablet which I switched off having first checked the router to make sure there were no other wireless connections and adding MAC address filtering to be sure no one else was stealing my bandwidth. With just my router connected to the ISP, my ISP has recorded 170MB of downloaded data in 3.5 hours. Switching off the router stops the traffic being recorded (as you would expect), but when switched back on the large data transfers start up again.
I have plugged in an older router (not wireless) and no traffic is generated, so it seems to be the TP-Link router rather than my ISP or ADSL circuit that is at fault.
i have a 1841 cisco router and i recently purchased a 1 port HWIC wan interface card. My problem is that I cannot see the interface in my config file. Is there something i am missing?

I had this setup and working and I have another set of equirement that I am replacing that is working with my service provider so I know it is a configuration issue. when I shut down the inside interface Gi 1/1 of the left firewall(Active firewall), It failed to failover. but when I shut down the Gi 1/12 of the Core 1 switch, The firewall failover very well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI share a modem and router with my building, and connect to the internet using an ethernet cable which plus right into the wall in my apartment. When I hover over the network/internet icon it tells me that I have a local connection only and can't get online. No changes were made to my computer between it working and not working - I have not installed any new software and the modem+router have not been changed.
When I try ipconfig/release is says it can't perform the operation while the media is disconnected. It also tells me that "an error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: The system cannot find the fie specified".

I have five 877 routers connected to ADSL circuits provided by Vodafone. Each has a VPN tunnel back to a PIX.
Occasionally one of the sites will lose it's connection to the PIX.
When we check the log, we find entries like these:-

As you can see, the physical interface (ATM0) is not being reported as changing state to down, neither is the Dialer interface.
When the router is in this state we have to SSL to the public IP address of it and manually restart the ISAKMP SA.
When the router sees the ATM interface go down and subsequently come back up, the VPN connection to the PIX also recovers.
So - in a long winded way I think I'm asking....why does the Virtual interface go down and is there anything I can do to stop it happening?
