Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6500 - Reboot With Crash Info

Oct 25, 2012

Our 6500 was reboot by self with crash info and i found it was happened by CPU HOG. The log is below for CPU HOG and you can see many times from attached crash info file.

%SYS-SP-3-CPUHOG: Task is running for (16000)m secs, more than (2000)m secs (15/12),process = RPC pagp_switch_mp2sp.
[code]....

I think this process made high CPU & memory issue and then there were internal communication fail.. isn't it? So i need to know what PRC pagp_switch_mp2sp is to prevent next issue.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1760 Crash Info Not Recovers At Flash

Aug 10, 2012

Got a problem with my 1760 router. Bought it from ebay and booted it on today and got this error,It has 180224K/16384K bytes of memory and 2 paritions of 32768K flash.I erased both partitions and put a different version of the IOS on (still 12.4) and there is no difference, still get the errors.These aren't on any of my other 1760 routers so I assume they are linked to the problem.

Cisco Wireless :: 7.0.116.0 / WiSM Crash With No Crash Log

Feb 21, 2012

I have many WiSM WLC's running 7.0.116.0. One WLC was rebooted few days ago but there was no crash file and nothing in logs say why this issue happened.There was a power problem at the same time the WLC rebooted (some switches and PE's was rebooted as well) but if it is a power issue why only one WLC inside the WiSM rebooted and the other WLC is still working fine with no reboot?I have 5 WiSM modules connected to the same 6500 box, only one WLC was rebooted which indicates a crash but no crash file registered for it.Is there anyway I can find the reason why that WLC was rebooted?

Generating 540 Or 4624 Events

May 5, 2013

I've got a a customer that is using a single sign on product that uses agents installed on the customer's domain controllers. This works fine accept for one scenario. When the customer transitions from a wired to wireless connection or vice versa. We have determined the reason for this is that the DCs are not getting Windows logon events ie 540 on 2003 servers or 4624 on 2008+. The users have files shares mapped onto member servers but refreshing those is not hitting the DCs.

Any way to ensure hitting a domain resource generates a logon event on a DC without directly mapping a resource on a DC. If it matters there are 50 domain controllers and around 200 member servers spread all over 48 states.

Cisco WAN :: LMS 4.2.3 Is Not Generating Protocol Flap / Down Alarms?

Apr 10, 2013

We are using CISCO LMS 4.2.3 in our network in India, we are facing a issue regarding  alarm generation for a protocol flap/down, especially when BGP / OSPF neighbourship got flapped.These flapping will result in the data service degradation , by which we came to know that some protocol flap may occurred at router end & then we go for the manual check by login into the router.After escalating the same to cisco we came to know that it is a bug of Cisco LMS. using any other method/technique to view the protocol down alarms automatically for cisco routers.

DIR-655 - Secondary DNS Server Blank In Router Info

Jul 14, 2011

I was setting a static IPs for my PCs, and for the Preferred and Alternate DNS Server addresses I looked on my router's Device Information page. It had "Primary DNS Server: 121.98.0.1", but "Secondary DNS Server:" is reported as "0.0.0.0". Router is a DIR-655:

I looked on my ISP's website and they have "121.98.0.2" listed as the Secondary Name Server/DNS:

Why does the router not report that? Is there something wrong? Should I still set 121.98.0.2 as the Alternate DNS Server in Windows?

EDIT: BTW, my modem reports both primary and secondary DNS servers on it's info page.

Cisco WAN :: 3945 Router CPU Temperature?

Nov 8, 2012

I am trying to find out what the 'normal' operating temperature of the CPU in a 3945 router is? We have just replaced some 2800 routers for 3945's and the NMS server initially complained about the new router CPU temperature being too high.  Compared to the 2800 the CPU temperature is much hotter - 50 degrees celcius as opposed to 20-smothing degrees.  I have searched but can't find what are considered 'normal'?

This is the output:

TP-Link 3G/3.75G Router :: TL-MR3420 / Setup Info For Service Provider?

Mar 15, 2013

Region : Austria
Model : TL-MR3420
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version :
ISP : orange.at

When I first installed the router I used the built-in provider settings for "ONE" which used to be the name of the provider before it was taken over by orange.at. It seemed to work fine but I experienced some funny server errors with certain web services. I contacted orange.at about this and they told me to adjust the provider settings in the router as follows:

Dial number: *99#
APN: fullspeed

The reason for the problems was that they use different proxy servers for their services and applications. Now it works fine (so far).

Cisco WAN :: Access-list On Router 3945

Mar 15, 2012

I reported a really strange issue on a Cisco Router 3945. Here below info about release software used: [code] Please look at a brief extract of router running configuration file: [code] It’s an easy configuration of Extended ACL and the application on an Ethernet interface. The expected result is:

- The interface works properly (because access list is permitting every kind of data traffic in input)
- Checking “show access-list 180”, the counter of matched packets increments for all the packets that are forwarded inside the fa0/0/1.

But actually the Fastethernet 0/0/1 drops all the packets as if all the packets don’t match with access list (And this behavior is really incredible). The interface couldn't be used anymore because any kind of data traffic is denied.
