Cisco WAN :: 3945 Vs 3945E From VPN Feature Perspective
Jan 20, 2013I have an issue understanding the difference between 3945 and 3945E from VPN support perspective.

You will see that the 3945E doesn't even have an ISM slot for a VPN ISM module and of course I could not find any ISM module for 3945E (I think this is obvious). Nevertheless, the above mentioned page and

say "Embedded hardware-accelerated VPN encryption for secure connectivity" for 3945E
That the Cisco 3945E supports the same VPN features (including packet encryption / decryption in hardware) like a Cisco 3945 with VPN ISM card?
Cisco WAN :: 3945 Router CPU Temperature?
Nov 8, 2012I am trying to find out what the 'normal' operating temperature of the CPU in a 3945 router is? We have just replaced some 2800 routers for 3945's and the NMS server initially complained about the new router CPU temperature being too high. Compared to the 2800 the CPU temperature is much hotter - 50 degrees celcius as opposed to 20-smothing degrees. I have searched but can't find what are considered 'normal'?

The expected result is:
- The interface works properly (because access list is permitting every kind of data traffic in input)
- Checking “show access-list 180”, the counter of matched packets increments for all the packets that are forwarded inside the fa0/0/1.
But actually the Fastethernet 0/0/1 drops all the packets as if all the packets don’t match with access list (And this behavior is really incredible). The interface couldn't be used anymore because any kind of data traffic is denied.

That router has 8 Gre/IPsec tunnels and one of those tunnels is 100Mbps.The question is, could I get 100Mbps as the sum of all tunnels, or is there a restriction to 85Mbps ??

Feb 7, 2013We just recently purchased a 3945 ISR G2 router and have a SRE-910 module (with two hard drives) configured in a Raid 1. We are running a stand-alone version of ESXi on the service module and I'm trying to figure out how to monitor the status of the Raid on the drives (along with other health issues). SNMP has revealed nothing so far and even opening a support case for which MIB's to use has proved fruitless. All the documents I find on monitoring the modules say to use LMS which is now Cisco Prime. I've downloaded the trial copy, put in the SNMP settings and scanned the router. I get device results and it shows that I have the SRE-910 module installed, but I get no other configuration / device informaiton from the module itself.
I tried to create a new Monitoring template using the NAM health as the base template (which I'm assuming this is the correct template). Unfortunately, when I actually try to deploy the template against the discovered router, I get an 'Unexpected end of list' error which makes me assume I'm still doing something wrong.

Jun 29, 2012We are having problems with a two router 3945 in HSRP and a switch 2960.The two routers are connected to the switch 2960 through differentes ports. The problem is that we loose connection between the router and the switch.When we excute the command: show cdp neighbor at router, it shows nothing.If we try to make ping to the 2960 switch it is no reachable.If we make ping to the other router 3945 it is not reachable.All other function of the router are o.k.We are attaching the IOS of the routers and switch 2960 and a document in which make reference to a BUG in which mention about arp overwrite due arp attack which produce DoS.

Apr 10, 2012I am using DHCP/TFTP to autoconfigure a 3945 router. The router properly obtains an IP address and finds the correct TFTP server. The issue lies in the download of the configuration file from the TFTP server. The router downloads the file, gives the "Ok" message, and prompts you to press Return to get started. When I view the running-config, several commands are missing from the Serial 0/0/0 section (HWIC-2T). If I modify the config file on the TFTP server to use Serial 0/0/1 instead and repeat the process, the configuration file loads without any issues and Serial 0/0/1 has all of the commands.
I also tried moving syntax around in my config file, but the end result is still the same. If I use Serial0/0/0 - I don't get all of the commands. If I use Serial 0/0/1, I do.

Feb 13, 2012I got a simple office: one flat LAN, one single 1841 router and 2 ISPs.LAN is 10.10.20.0/24 and is connected to a port on an HWIC card I installed in the 1841. Then FA0/0 connects to ISP1 and FA0/1 connects to ISP2.
Everything is fine except that I am having some issues with the Failover feature. Currently, I am using Object Tracking with SLAs. I am pinging 2 hosts located on the internet and then I have an SLA OR statement which basically say if ANY of the 2 objects are unreachable, DO NOT trigger a failover to ISP2. If in the case that BOTH objects become unreachable, then DO trigger a failover. It works like a charm.
The problems:Any internet hiccup obviously makes the router activate the tracks and redirects all traffic to ISP2. However, 99% of the time ISP1 is back online within minutes or seconds, so after 180 seconds the traffic gets redirected back to ISP1. So in essence, the customer suffers 2 interruptions.
Besides internet hiccups, I have also noticed that every time any user tries to copy a big file accross the tunnel (the 1841 has site to site tunnels with 2 branches) the tracks go crazy and the objects become unreachable so a failover is triggered. We were breaking our heads and fighting with the ISP1 provider because every time this happened, we called them but every time they kept telling us that their line was UP and running without any problems. So after careful investigation, I do admit they were right.... it is not so much that the ISP1 experiences hiccups, it is actually the fact that users putting heavy load into the router are causing it to have its track to stop reaching the objects.

However, the ATT uverse has a gateway that combines the modem and router together, in order to use my e3000 instead of the built-in router of the gateway, I have done a LAN-to-LAN connection and I can access internet without any problem. But in this case, I can not enable my guest-access feature. When I use Cisco Connect to set up e3000, it says "cannot connect to your router". how to set up the guess-access feature of e3000 when using ATT uverse.
