Cisco :: 881 CP Express Will Not Load In Browser

Nov 26, 2012

I have acquired a Cisco 881 router and have installed CCP express onto it. The router is set to factory default and I am using IE9, Java is also installed.i try to log in using the default IP of 10.10.10.1 through the browser and the log in box pops up, I type the default "cisco - cisco" to log in, the box disappears but then nothing, just a blank browser page, CCP express refuses to boot up.PC's firewall and security programs are turned off.Pop up blockers are deactivated in browser.Flash is installed.I've tried downgrading my version of Java to various versions and doing a hard reset but still no luck.I've tried CCP Express versions 2.6 & 2.7.I have tried from 2 different PCs.I have also tried from Firefox with the same result.I am able to access the router from console and CCP full version.

Cisco Security :: Will ACS Express Ever Support 2008 R2

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS Express 5.0.1 Joining Domain

Dec 18, 2011

I have been having some issues with an ACS express joining a domain. This device previously had joined and after a weekend we received a notice that users were not authenticating to the domain.  This in turn let us to find out the the device was unable to join the domain.  Further research led us to find that the account the device was using to join the domain had been disabled.  However, after re-enabling the account we would only recieve domain timeouts when tried to join.  I opened a case with cisco and we have tried everything under the sun to no avail.  I can ping the AD server (name & ip) from the ACS express. Cisco apply a root patch that allowed us to create hosts file entries on the device.  I checked the system time and made sure it was within 5 minutes of the Domain controller time.  In the logs of the ACS express the only thing I can really find is:

-"Checking remote join status: SMB connectivity failed"

-"Timeout reached in getting AD Diag info"

"acsxp/server Warning Server 0 is DisconnectedMode, IOException for reason, ipc socket connect; No such file or directory:

Recently we re-imaged the ACS and tried to join the domain without the old config on it and just received the same error.  I reloaded the backup after that which also resulted in no change.  I am starting to think that there is more of a domain issue rather than networking but am having issues finding a way to prove this via the logs.  The are other ACS's configured in the network and the settings on this device match the settings on the other device in the network which are working correctly.

Cisco WAN :: Where To Type In Gateway Address In 891 Using CCP Express

Jul 6, 2011

We are switching over to a new ISP and the settings from the old ISP Statstic IP,DNS, is on the Cisco 891 router. Question can I just edit the settings that are already on the Cisco 891 router. I clicked on the Routing and I only see checked Enable dfault Route and checked INterface Fastethernet8. I don't anywhere that I need to type in the Gateway address anywhere in the CCP Express.

Cisco WAN :: Linksys E2500 - Basic Configuration Of 819 Using CP Express

Aug 12, 2012

I set up a basic Linksys E2500 with the following information and connected to the internet straight away without a problem: I have spent several hours simply trying to get this basic information into the Cisco 819 using CP Express without success, i.e. I get no internet.  Rather than show my inputs, What is the correct setup.  I am a novice so I'd rather solve this issue using CP Express just to get connected in the first instance. I have a static IP address, I connected the ethernet cable carrying the internet to the internet port of the E2500 and an ethernet cable from one of the ethernet ports of the E2500 to my PC.  For the 819, I connected the internet cable to the GE WAN 0 port and the PC to one of the FE ports.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Catalyst Express 520 Sends TCP RST

Aug 5, 2012

I have one out of three Catalyst Express 520's I cannot connect to with Cisco Configuration Assistant or with a browser. I've used Wireshark to capture the problem, and it sends a TCP RST packet immediately upon any such connection attempt.

As these devices do not have a console port, how can I gain access to the device? We'd like to upgrade them but cannot pull the existing config.

Since these 520's don't support or are not configured for telnet/ssh and the only connection I can make is with a broswer and CCA, I'm wondering if there is a way to get the config into a text file as normally done.

WNDR3700 USB Vs Mini-PCI Express Wireless Networking

I've got an older desktop that needs a dual band upgrade and would like to know if a PCIe adapter w/ external antennas for desktop wireless is better/faster than the USB variety? They cost about the same. The router is a dual band WNDR3700 v1.

I've heard salespeople at retailers say, for desktop, go w/ the USB as they offer better performance than PCIe adapters even w/ external antennas... Does anyone know if the extra noise within the desktop case kills whatever benefits that the extra power and external antennas that a PCIe card has over a USB adapter?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Catalyst Express 520 - Trunk Configuration?

Jul 11, 2012

I am struggling with a CE520 and its smartports stuff.I have configured the following vlans :

1- data
100 - phones

I need to bring those vlans (both of them) to a Cisco 800 router. The port of the 800 router is already configured as trunk and accepts vlan 1 and 100.The cisco 800 has both vlan 1 and 100 configured with 2 ips on different subnets, and ip routing is enable (to route between two vlans). Also, no access lists are configured.I have configured one port in the switch as role "router" and connected to the router. The other ports are all configured as phone-desktop (phone vlan 100 desktop vlan 1).If I connect a phone and manually configure an ip (the phone gets automatically vlan 100), and try to ping the phone from the router, it doesnt respond. Alse vlan 100 is protocol down.I am guessing what s the right configuration as the link between the switch and the router should be a trunk link for 1 and 100 vlans, but it looks like is transporting only vlan 1.Also changing the port role to "other" when you can specify the native vlan and another vlan, the switch doesnt accept vlan 100 as additional vlan on that link.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Catalyst Express 500 Factory Reset

Sep 30, 2009

We have inherited a Catalyst Express 500 (model WS-CE500-24PC) from a company we aquired, and are having issues configuring the switch.

The switch must have been configured previously, but we don't know its IP address.  It is no longer on the network, so we can restart it as much as we need to.

We followed the factory reset process:

1)  Disconnect the switch from the power supply
2)  Reconnect the switch while holding the "SETUP" button
3)  Release the "SETUP" button when the status LEDs all turn Amber
4)  Wait for POST to complete
5)  Connect one PC to the port whose LED starts flashing

However, the PC is never given an IP address, and when we open a web browser, anything we try to browse to gives us "Page cannot be displayed", rather than the setup page for the switch.

Are there any known issues or browser/OS incompatibilities with this model of switch?  We're using Vista and Windows 7 with IE7, IE8 and Firefox 3.

Cisco WAN :: Preventing Reset Into Express Mode On Catalyst 2960

Is there a way to prevent resetting catalyst config by pressing and holding in the MODE button after powerup? I had entered in a basic config into my switch including passwords, etc. and was checking out different uses of the MODE button including setting the switch into express mode and I somehow managed to wipe the config and send the switch back into a default state by holding the mode button in for too long.

I want to prevent this from happening once the switch it is in production.

Not sure if it matters, but this is the 24 S model using the LAN lite image..

Connecting Laptop With Windows 7 To Apple Airport Express

Aug 21, 2011

I am trying to connect my laptop running windows 7 to an airport express so I can stream music to my hi-fi.I've tried a number of different things, none of which have been successful.I've tried resetting the device before each attempt to connect it and I've also ensured that the driver for my computer's Wi-Fi (Intel (R) Wi-Fi link 5100 AGN) and the firmware for my router (Linksys E2000) are up to date. The apple airport utility program is also up to date. I also saw this webpage:Sharing my Win 7 PC with Apple Airport Extreme and wireless network. - Microsoft Answers And, all these settings were correct already.I also took the device back to the shop where it was tested and found to be working correctly.

Just plugging in my airport express - Opening the airport utility program, my airport express is recognized straight away. It is highlighted in the left-hand pane and I click on continue. I then get a message asking if I want to switch networks and it says that this is required in order to set it up. I click OK to continue. After a window appears saying that it is detecting apple wireless devices, I get error message number 4 saying that an error occurred while trying to access the network. It then asks me to check to make sure my network is valid.Using ‘configure other under the file tab - The airport express is still recognized in the left-hand pane but I click on configure other. A window appears asking for the I.P. address and a password. I enter the default I.P. address (10.0.1.1) and the default password (public) for the airport express. I then get error 6753 (an error occurred while trying to access the apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again)however, my computer still recognizes the airport express in the list of available wireless networks. I therefore click on it and connect to it. I then try to enter the details (under configure other again). I then get through to the configure apple wireless device screen in which I can input the details of my network details, etc. I enter the details and make sure that they match my routers settings (I have even tried this with no security settings on my router). I then click on update. The computer automatically reverts back to my network and it seems like everything is working. The green light even appears on my airport express. However, I then get a message stating: Airport utility was unable to find your wireless Airport device after restarting.Switching off the wireless network and connecting the Airport express to the computer with an Ethernet cable - The device is also recognized here and I can enter all the details. Before updating I turn on my wireless network so it can make a connection. The green light shows on the airport express but i again get the message that: Airport utility was unable to find your wireless Airport device after restarting.

Cabling / Cards :: Cannot Find 2x8pin PCI Express 2.0 Cable

Jan 19, 2011

I already have one 2x8pin PCI express power cable powering a GTX280 (along side its 6x6 pin cable). It has two male 8 pin ends (One is 6+2, the other is just 8).

I want to install my second GTX280 too but I only have a 6x6pin cable. I need a 8x8 aswell. The GTX280 requires one 6x6 and one 8x8 output. Where do I find one?

I CANNOT FIND ANOTHER 8+8 PCI EXPRESS CABLE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Not EBAY, not any website on earth. Not my retailer or producer. ?

How else can i power the card properly? My PSU has no molex options. My PSU only accepts PCI express 2.0. My PSU is Everest 1200w with 4 of each type of socket.

2. The Passkey is valid and works for the devices identified in (2)
3. When entering the valid passkey, the network rejects it and says the passkey is invalid
4. I have opened the Airport Express utility and changed the passkey to a new one, and all of the devices identified in (2) were able to connect -- but the ASUS laptop still cannot connect, the system still rejects it from the ASUS laptop and says "passkey invalid"
