Cisco WAN :: Multiple PPP Multi-links In 7609 Router
Dec 13, 2006
We have Cisco 7609 routers in our network. We are using ppp multilinks between the sites. Because of the high traffic volume, we have to use multiple multilinks. 7609 router doesn't allow ppp multlink to span SIPs, so we use multiple mulitilinks between sites on different SIPs. OSPF for load balancing will be used. THE PROBLEM IS: when we define the second ppp multilink between two 7609 routers, the new multilink stays "inactive". Can we use multiple multilinks to the same router? We have enabled the command IP CEF DISTRIBUTED, but we still face the same problem". IOS used is: 122-18.SXF6
We have a site to site VPN from one client location to our production center in offshore. At the client side we have a PIX 515 used for the tunnel. Since the client requires a backup VPN over a different ISP we will have to add the ISP to the same PIX and then create the secondary VPN.
how we can acheive two ISP's on one PIX since only two Ethernet ports are availble.
I am trying to set a logging discriminator that will drom any message contans the mnemonics etc. "ABC" and "XYZ". As fists step I configure this:logging discriminator nolog mnemonics drops ABC
but when I am trying to add a second statement.logging discriminator nolog mnemonics drops XYZ
in the same discriminator (nolog) it replaces the first statement with the last. So in the show run I have always one statement for discriminator "nolog". Finally, how can I configure a logging discriminator with more than one statement? I am using IOS Version 12.2(33)SRD4 on a Cisco 7609.
I want to configure Reliable static routing with object tracking. I have a cisco 3825 and 3925 router in which the hsrp will be configured . Now these two routers are connected a remote site via three different WAN connectivity as under
1. MPLS 2. LL-1 3. LL-2
The priority of routing is also the same sequence.
Now if the MPLS goes down the remote site should be connected via LL-1. If both the MPLS and LL-1 goes down the remote site should be connected via LL-2.
The LL-1 is terminated on cisco 3825 and LL-2 is terminated on cisco 3925. MPLS is terminated on both cisco 3825 as well as 3925 router.
Whether multiple tracking options are available so that i can achieve the same. Topology diagram is attached.
We have got a pair of N5K and 4 N2k. So far, we have configured VPC Keepalive (2x10G) & VPN Peer (1x1G) between N5K. Also we have configured one N2K with Dual Hommed VPC with both N5K.Now I am having some difficulties with desining/configuring EIGRP with Upstream routers/L3 65xxVSS switch.
Here are the queries.
1) Do I have to create another 1GE link between these 2 N5K to enable routing in between.
2) For these 2xN5K should I enable Eigrp on physical Interface or should I create VLAN & VRF to enable routing in between.
3) For N5K to Upstream L3 device should I have to configure EIGRP on physical Interface or should I create VLAN & VRF to proceed. We have 2 uplink each to connect to 2 DC and we are not planning to aggregate 2 links (VPC or L3 Ether Channel) for each site.
I have been working on redesign of our network which was very challenging but almost there. We have a limited budget of around £20k(32k Dollor) Max. The cabling has been done before my time and it is very messy and cheap so you can not do a proper cisco hierarchical model at all.I can not have multiple links from each access layer switch to the core/distribution and as a result i had to connect some access switches together to introduces redundancy in a nutshell,we have two buildings, main building which has the server room in it and the other building which is just bunch of office. i have introduced a partial mesh on the normal building and have tried to introduce full mesh on the main building .
We have a router 7609 with Supervisor Engine 720 (WS-SUP720-3B) (Policy Feature Card 3 and MSFC3 Daughterboard) and We have to configure QoS over a FastEthernet interface on a WS-X6148-RJ-45. When I try to apply the policy command I get the next log:
#service-policy output TEST_QOSbandwidth percent command is not supported in output direction for this interfaceConfiguration failed on: FastEthernet1/2 What kind of hardware and software requirements I need on my router to perfom QoS over ethernet interfaces?
We have two 7609 routers at different city . Our both 7609 routers make MTU 1800 bytes and when I ping the other router with packet (1500 bytes) ,it can get thought .But when I ping with 15000 even 1506 bytes ,it didn.t work .As I didn't disable the DF field .
Internet address is 202.112.38.54/30 MTU 1800 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec, reliability 255/255, txload 96/255, rxload 81/255
We have a lab network set up with a 7609 router as the central core. Scenario: Laptop with a SIP client. In the lab is a session border controller that will route signaling and media to a SIP gateway with a call agent (172.23.112.201) and a media "handler" (172.23.113.6). The call processing device will forward packets to an RF network (108.x.x.x) where an NCS cable modem sits.Call signaling works perfectly fine. However, RTP traffic from the laptop to the NCS phone is getting routed incorrectly. RTP traffic from the phone to the laptop works fine. [code]
Packet captures show the laptop to phone RTP packets are being routed back towards the corporate router. These time out with ICMP TTL exceeded packets. There are static routes for 172.23.113.0/27 to the optical interfaces that go to the SIP gateway. Interestingly, I can ping an IP on the SIP gateway (not used for media, but is pingable) in that static range (172.23.113.1) just fine from the 7609 (i.e. it's not getting routed to the corporate router). Unfortunately, the IP for the media endpoint on the SIP gateway is not pingable. Config for the 7609 is attached.
vrf ping is not happening between two pe devices in 7609 router having VS-S-2T-10G modules with 15.1 SY1 IOS version? Is there any commands need to add? between pe devides ldp is running properly and ibgp too. I am doubtful about VS-S-2T module.
can a Cisco 2811 router bundle 2 or 4 ADSL lines ? Reason am asking, we need a device that would be able to bundle 2 or 4 ADSL lines from ISP so that we can you it as backup link in-case the company Internet link does down.
With the risk of sounding like I'm looking for a "personal shopper", I'm looking for your opinions on a new wireless router for a small business. We already have a WatchGuard firewall. We are just looking to provide visitors and staff wireless access. We want visitors to only be able to access the internet, but we want staff to be able to access the corporate network as if they were plugged in via Ethernet. (RADIUS - AD authentication).
I have a small business network with multiple systems on a local lan. I would like to expose two of these machine on the Internet using static IPs provided by my ISP. Both of these machines provide web services over ports 80 and 443, and thus port forwarding will not meet my needs. The way I have addressed this issue in the past is to use a router with "multi-NAT" or "many-to-many NAT" support. Alas, the router I was using is no longer working and the company no longer provides a similar offering. In speaking with CISCO customer service today, they suggested that one of the routers in the CISCO 800 series should meet my need.
So my questions are:
1. Is any out there using an 800 series router to address a similar scenario? 2. If so, is it possible to configure this scenario (e.g. Multi-nat) using the Cisco Router Web Setup (CRWS) Tool? I'm not familiar with IOS and would prefer to skip the learning curve.
why i can not found ip router setting by main menu? the sg300-28 can not support ip router command?mor informations, see my img. If sg300-28 can not support ip router command, what i can do it that communicate by multi-Vlan ?
I want to connect 2 ISP links into one Gigabit-interface on my Router 2921, can any one tell me how to do that ? sub-interface creation is not possible on cisco 2921
Can we terminate 2 WAN link first Lease line and second Broadband internet link on 800 series router . As 800 series router have only 1 wan port and 4 switch port. Also we want to Configure load balancing over the 2 WAN link, is it possible or Basic router for SMB.
I have 2 links to 2 different departments switch with an up link of 10mb. I want to guarantee that both departments get at least 5mb, but can use part of the other 5mb that not in use. Is this possible?
Several "consultants" have told me that the problem probably lies within my Linksys WRT150N.However, upon pinging the router, it responds. I did not reset the router to factory default), I just pinged it, and it's there. My firmware is v1.0.04. My provider is Cox Communication, and the connection os cable modem.Curiously, my wife's I-Pad will not open these links either.Sample link that doesn't work: url... is it possible for a client to choose a WAN to use when being routed through a Multi-WAN router? Something that could be configured as default route in linux or default gateway in winxp ?Or is this decision totally up to the router itself ? [code] Could now a client on the subnet 192.168.0.0/24 choose 1.1.1.1 as a default route for example? And if not, could this be possible if the router hat some secondary internal IPs for both WAN interfaces.
I am currently setting up a new VRF on a Cisco 7609 which is advertising (as a RR-Client) an iBGP route to a Juniper MX960. This route is then getting sent back to the default route table on the 7609 but rejected due to the cluster-id loop prevention. Although not ideal I need this route to be visible in both tables. Is there a way of changing the bgp cluster-id per VRF rather than just globally?
What are the prerequisites before doing this? I have to upgrade a router this week if there is an opportunity to move it to a code that is more current that the one the client is currently running which is 12.2(33)SRD4. I see on the Cisco Support site that after this code, everything moves to 15.
Configuring MPLS over GRE tunnels. I did not find any proper configuration example. I need to do this for encrypt the traffic between two PE routers. I have 7609 routers.
I have a hight CPU utilisation problem in my CISCO7609-S routers. the cpu utilisation can rise 99% et this is usually. In the moment of hight CPU the the process CPU give the following:
First and foremost, what I have are 2 x 7204VXR (Gateways), 1 x 4507R-E (Coreswitch), and our ISP have 7609.Got some issues with redundancy with our ISP.
7609 I I I I 7204-A 7204-B | | | vrrp | | | -4507R-E- | | internal network
Both outside interfaces of 7204 gateways are connecting to 7609 with different public ip block. I used VRRP for my internal nework and failover have been tested working.
Even tried to remove link of 7204-A and 7609, the failover works perfect. If I shutdown/ remove the link between my 4507R-E and 7204-A (primary gw_higher vrrp priority), vrrp redundancy/failover still works, but pings from internal network to internet is only 50% success....alternate 4 ping reply and 4 time out.
I have to do a migration of sup32 to RSP720 for which I need to know if you can operate the equipment connected with the 2 supervisors at the same time??? and it still working ?
I have a router CISCO 7609-S with two RSP 720 engines, and other cards are 7600-ES+20G3C,7600-ES+40G3C.One day it has a error cord " %XDR-6-XDRIPCNOTIFY: Message not sent to slot 4/0 (4) because of IPC error queue flush. Disabling linecard. (Expected during linecard OIR)" and the card resets.Cisco TAC told us it is a bug which is CSCtj05576.and I want to upgrade the ios from c7600rsp72043-advipservices-mz.122-33.SRD4.bin to c7600 rsp 72043-advipservices-mz.122-33.SRE5.bin.Now I want to know this:1, Is it right to upgrade to this new ios? Is the new ios suitable for the cards?2,I want to know the right way to upgrade ios in two engines.
Atfer I copy the new ios to the master engine and slave engine, and then change the bootvar and save config. Is it auto copy the config to de slave engine?Atfer do this ,I want to know how to apply the new ios,Does it reload the slave engine first and then force-switchover the master engine to slave engine. Or Atfer do this,I reload the router on active engine directly?
In my existing production router 7609 of my company, sup-engine already fixed in slot 5 with SRC2 12.2(33) IOS and I need to insert another sup engine in slot 6 with SRE7 IOS code image and after this, again sup engine in slot 5 must be with SRE7 IOS image...(also I have extra sup engines with SRE 7 code image ready with me) Query:i am going to offload router before proceed for this activity?i will insert new sup engine in slot 6 with SRE 7 ios image and now i need to re-install spare sup engine with SRE 7 code readily available with me by removing existing sup engine from slot 5 (Active) so what will be the proceedure to insert new sup engine with SRE 7 code in slot 5 and slot 6 with minimum downtime of router?
existing setup sup engine in slot 5 with SRC2 12.3 (old hardware) slot 6 is EMPTY
final result should be like this: sup engine in slot 6 with SRE 7 (new hardware)
