I want to connect 2 ISP links into one Gigabit-interface on my Router 2921, can any one tell me how to do that ? sub-interface creation is not possible on cisco 2921
View 1 RepliesI have an Ethernet Loopback Plug (4 Pairs) made and trying to test the Gigabit Interface on a 3845 Router with a fail result. The interface will show up/up only if I set the interface to 100M/Full Duplex when I plug-in the Ethernet Loopback Plug (4 Pairs). I don't see this Gigabit Interface @ 3845 router has any option to set it to internal or external loopback.

I have tried media rj-45 and media sfp which have also not worked. The other end of this link is ethernet handoff. What is it that I have to do for the link to come up? If I change the connection to gi0/2, I think that will work because I see this for gi0/2:

All, we have a cisco ISR 2921 router. We want to connect century link dsl via PPPoe on Gigabit int 0/0. G 0/1 is configured for a switch LAN. I think I may have missed a configuration on the router as It is not passing traffic. Do I have to configure anything so that it passes traffic to G 0/1 from G 0/0? Below is the running config

But after configuring the Tengig int with ip add and negotiation it is no know visible in the switch. Instead TenGig I am seeing two (Gi0/1 and G0/2). Not even showing the Tengig in the running config.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a number of 3845 routers, some running IOS 12.4(22)T2 and earlier and some running 12.4(24)T4. On the ones with 12.4(22)T2 and earlier, gigabit interface g0/1 shows interface down/line protocol down when there is no cable connected to the interface and the interface is not in shutdown state. On the ones with 12.4(24)T4, gigabit interface g0/1 shows interface up/line protocol down when there is no cable connected to the interface and the interface is not in shutdown state. Interestingly in both cases, the "show controller g0/1" command shows " network link is down (NO CARRIER)" when there is no cable attached. It makes sense to us that the interface status would be down/down when there is no cable attached. It does not makes sense to us that the interace would be up/down. Did Cisco at some point change their philosophy on whether an interface should show down/down or up/down when there is no cable attached, or is this a bug?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Gigabyte motherboard that ive just installed into my dads new PC and the gigabit LAN has started taking 60 seconds to connect to router, very annoying...sitting with browser open waiting for it too connect... the issue seem to first appear during windows updates, i uninstalled device driver, rebooted and reinstalled the driver off disk... this sorted the issue.. THEN windows installed more updates, however these were nothing to do with networking (Office updates) and its back ...ive tried downloading the driver from gigabyte (newer) but still the problem persists...

I have a question about speed negotiation process between interfaces. I have 3650X Sw and 2960S-48port. All ports of two are GigabitEthernet, however the link between them is only 100Mb/s, Full duplex. I try to set the speed 1000 Mb/s manually in the interface then the interface never up. Its status is down/down. I must set back to speed auto. I show interface Gigabit0/24 in Sw 3650-X and figure out that there are many output drop (over 600000). I clear counter then after two days the output drop is over 70000. This link is trunk link between two switches, all ports of access SW are Gigabit and connect to PC. First, I thinks the 3650X is throttled somewhere in output direction of trunk link. But there is another trunk link (Gi0/23) to another 2960S-48port and no output drop number in this interface. This Giga 0/23 speed is 1000 Mb/s (auto speed, auto duplex)
Does any outside things impact the speed negotiation process between 2 interfaces? And output drop number may caused by abnormal speed between two Gigabit interface?

We have a site to site VPN from one client location to our production center in offshore. At the client side we have a PIX 515 used for the tunnel. Since the client requires a backup VPN over a different ISP we will have to add the ISP to the same PIX and then create the secondary VPN.
how we can acheive two ISP's on one PIX since only two Ethernet ports are availble.

The computer is running Windows 7, 64bit, but there do not appear to be any drivers for that OS.I tried selecting Vista 64bit, but there were no drivers. The Vista 32bit doesn't work.

Because of the high traffic volume, we have to use multiple multilinks. 7609 router doesn't allow ppp multlink to span SIPs, so we use multiple mulitilinks between sites on different SIPs. OSPF for load balancing will be used. THE PROBLEM IS: when we define the second ppp multilink between two 7609 routers, the new multilink stays "inactive". View 21 Replies View RelatedI just installed 2 new units and neither will connect to a new HP gigabit switch - no link light, other devices can connect to the switch OK. Their gigabit ethernet settings are set to auto for duplex and speed. I also tried forcing one of them to full duplex and 1000 Mbps which didn't work either. They're both powered by POE injectors. If I connect them to a 10/100 switch they work fine.

But if i disable the EIGRP on tunnel interface, tunnel are ok, then when i enable eigrp on tunnel interface, all eigrp neighbourhoods are OK.Is there any way to limit NHRP or EIGRP packets ?
