I am using a Cisco ME 3800 switch with 24 Gig and 2 Tengigabit interface. But after configuring the Tengig int with ip add and negotiation it is no know visible in the switch. Instead TenGig I am seeing two (Gi0/1 and G0/2). Not even showing the Tengig in the running config.
View 3 RepliesI have an Ethernet Loopback Plug (4 Pairs) made and trying to test the Gigabit Interface on a 3845 Router with a fail result. The interface will show up/up only if I set the interface to 100M/Full Duplex when I plug-in the Ethernet Loopback Plug (4 Pairs). I don't see this Gigabit Interface @ 3845 router has any option to set it to internal or external loopback.

Now I set two Tunnel on each router connection Interface FastEthernet from each 2811 to SubInterface Fastethernet on 3800. I set OSPF as Routing Protocol and I configure QOS on Tunnel connections. Then I have a safe connection with backup connection between 3800 Router and each 2811 Router. Now I want to set VPN with IPSEC and Certification Authentication with CA Server for Security all connection. I set IPSEC and ISAKMP and Certificate on each Router and Set Dynamic VPN on Cisco 3800 Router and Static VPN on each Cisco 2811 Router. Now when if I configure tunnel with Crypto map, it works correct and all packets are encrypt. But if I try to set crypto on physical Interface(because I want to set qos on tunnel then protect packets on physical interface) however all packets are routed but crypto and encrypt d o not work. Set qos on tunnels and crypto on fastethernet interface.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI checked the NIC Properties and the Speed & Duplex only shows the following 10 half, 10 full, 100 half, 100 full and auto. There is no 1000 half and 1000 full. My old gigabit NIC on my old computer shows all, 10s, 100s, and 1000s and the auto. They tried to fix it and even changed the driver but it still is not showing the 1000s. Their option was to change the motherboard with a refurbished one and my computer was just bought just 2 months ago. The original computer had 12GB memory, I7, AMD graphics card, 460 PSU. no blue-ray, no usb 3. The new setup is 16GB memory, I7, Nvidia GeForce GT 550 Ti, Usb 3, Blue-ray, I think 800 PSU.I am running Win 7 Home Premium 64. I have a Gigabit connection from my internet service so I wanted the NIC to go that fast too. The specs shows the computer to have a Gigabit NIC but the properties is not showing the 1000s.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a number of 3845 routers, some running IOS 12.4(22)T2 and earlier and some running 12.4(24)T4. On the ones with 12.4(22)T2 and earlier, gigabit interface g0/1 shows interface down/line protocol down when there is no cable connected to the interface and the interface is not in shutdown state. On the ones with 12.4(24)T4, gigabit interface g0/1 shows interface up/line protocol down when there is no cable connected to the interface and the interface is not in shutdown state. Interestingly in both cases, the "show controller g0/1" command shows " network link is down (NO CARRIER)" when there is no cable attached. It makes sense to us that the interface status would be down/down when there is no cable attached. It does not makes sense to us that the interace would be up/down. Did Cisco at some point change their philosophy on whether an interface should show down/down or up/down when there is no cable attached, or is this a bug?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question about speed negotiation process between interfaces. I have 3650X Sw and 2960S-48port. All ports of two are GigabitEthernet, however the link between them is only 100Mb/s, Full duplex. I try to set the speed 1000 Mb/s manually in the interface then the interface never up. Its status is down/down. I must set back to speed auto. I show interface Gigabit0/24 in Sw 3650-X and figure out that there are many output drop (over 600000). I clear counter then after two days the output drop is over 70000. This link is trunk link between two switches, all ports of access SW are Gigabit and connect to PC. First, I thinks the 3650X is throttled somewhere in output direction of trunk link. But there is another trunk link (Gi0/23) to another 2960S-48port and no output drop number in this interface. This Giga 0/23 speed is 1000 Mb/s (auto speed, auto duplex)
Does any outside things impact the speed negotiation process between 2 interfaces? And output drop number may caused by abnormal speed between two Gigabit interface?

some of the servers are not pinging from one switch but they are pingable from other redundant distribution switch. So I took the IP addresses from the redundant switch, with that I found MAC addresses from the access switch.But when I tried to see to which ports these MAC are addresses are connected to, multiple MAC addresses are resolving to the same switchport. like 5 MAC's are showing to 1 port and other 3 MAC's are showing to other port, like this there are many. All these MAC's belong to virtual servers.

Vlan interfaces configured in he switch are not showing input and output traffic, whereas the traffic is seen on the Gig interfaces mapped to the respective vlans . We also tried configuring the load-interval 30 , but there is no change . Interace 3/5 is mapped to vlan 5 . For this issue we have also done the IOS upgrade from 3.1.1SG to 3.2.5SG recently still the issue is same. [code]

I'm currently working on a plan to migrate our 6500's over to our new 7010's. At the time of the migration I want to tighten up our OSPF design and configure OSPF for "passive-interface default" then allow only those interfaces that should have OSPF neighbors to send the hellos. The issue is that the command is not showing up under the OSPF process. What's even more interesting is that the Nexus 5.x Unicast Routing Configuration Guide shows that the "passive-interface default" command should be an option to enter.
I'm currently running version 5.1(4) (though looking to upgrade to 5.2 during my migration testing). I would rather configure the passive-interface via the routing process versus having to enter it on every interface.
I'm running an Optiplex 330 with the Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit ethernet card.
The computer is running Windows 7, 64bit, but there do not appear to be any drivers for that OS.I tried selecting Vista 64bit, but there were no drivers. The Vista 32bit doesn't work.
Then I went to Broadcom and found these drivers: [URL] the W764bit drivers didn't change the fact i'm still on a 100Mbit card (as seen on Local Area Connection Status screen and the Device manager)

I'm having a problem on which i cannot find an answer. I have a VPN router 3800 series (DMVPN) with 2 VRF on it, we also use dual Nat to reach our data center behind the 3800 series isr.
I created the Nat rules and the acl's , but the Nat is just not working, is there a special configuration needed for Nat and VRF's?
my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have been struggling for a few days with getting site-to-site traffic working across a L2L IPSec tunnel. At this point, I have the tunnel up, and I see packets being decrypted on the correct IPSec SA's when I ping from a local network computer on the ASA side to a local network computer on the router side. I cannot ping from one side to the other, but those packets are getting through. We have another L2L tunnel that is from that ASA to another remote site's ASA, and that is functional. I have mirrored the configuration for ACLs, etc. from that site, so I believe that the issue is with the packets getting incorrectly translated by the NAT/NONAT statements/ACLs on the router side.

I wanted to check if i swap the old flash (64 Mb) with a new one 256 mb, i will loose vlan.dat file since it's stored in flash. Is there a way i can copy vlan.dat to new flash which has new code before i change the boot statements and reload the router?

If it is possible what interface card/config I would need? It currently has a T3/E3 card with 2 coaxial connections (was used with a Cogent DS3 connection). I'm guessing I would need to replace it with an Ethernet one (?). Granted - I suspect it may cost a pretty penny, nonetheless I'd like to look into it.It also has 2 dual-port vwic2-2mft-t1/e1 card installed. I am an absolute beginner with Cisco and networking.

the routing is that host goes up to the 3800 and out a wan link but if wan is down, it hairpins back down from 3800 to 3500 which has a backup link on one of the ports. when we test wan down, or even when it is up, I see shape dropping packets

They wish to further manage traffic by limiting outbound traffic to their branch sites in line with the network access bandwidth each site has available. For example, computer 10.0.0.10 cannot ping 10.0.0.20 because NAT has been set up. Port forwarding does not seem to be an answer. Is it possible for NATted computers to be able to ping each other or not?
