Cisco WAN :: AS5400 E1 TG Traffic Stats / PGW 2200 Perhaps?
Jun 5, 2011
I've got as Cisco AS5400 Ver 12.3(22) with the E1 controllers acting as ISUP TG (pri-groups). Since we have no streaming for call records to RADIUS serving etc. is there a way to setup a log or history buffer for alerts for traffic congestion? With high call rates the "normal" realtime methods of using >sh call active voice breif | i No Circuit Avail wouldn't be pratical since memory/processor usage could be an issue. The >debug isdn q931 interf dch 1/0 would of worked but again so much traffic is coming I don't want to increase the size of the logg buff >300K.I guess I was expecting an easy way out being an old TDM salt used to the 5E/Telica Plexview/DMS having CDR and Traffic Stat info readily available. I know the AS5400 is a powerful device, maybe I just haven't got the right command down or totally overlooked the obvious.Oh, and this is connected to the Cisco PGW/SGC 2200 Version:"9.3(2) and I haven't found anything in it's logs. I was just wondering on the stats page of my DIR-615 the WAN Stats is in packets. How do I convert that into megabytes and gigabytes so I can track my usage?
Since AT&T put in caps and do not provide a usage meter. I would like to keep track of my usage.

I have a sip gateway (AS5400) that is used to connect sip providers to our internal voice network.Internal gateway (10.1.1.2 LAN) -- SIP trunk -- AS5400 (10.1.1.3 LAN/ 8.23.23.43 WAN) -- SIP trunk -- Internet SIP Provider We encountered the following problem :A SIP call from internal gateway to the sip provider could establish but was muted on our side (sip provider could hear us)On the WAN interface of the AS5400, there is a ACL that filter traffic IN coming from SIP Provider
interface GigabitEthernet0/0
ip address 8.23.23.43 255.255.255.224
ip access-group 101 in
I log the deny on this ACL and I saw some udp packets denied with LAN addresses !*Mar 3 15:24:44.001: %SEC-6-IPACCESSLOGP: list 101 denied udp 10.1.1.3(0) -> 10.1.1.2 (0), 1 packet I did not bind anything on the sip config. When I changed the ACLs, calls went well. Why do I see LAN packets on the WAN interface ?

I have a Cisco 2621XM router with two ethernet interfaces that sits before a vendor supplied VPN router. I need to see the IP traffic incoming to my router from the WAN side (fasteth0/1 below). I setup ip cef, and ip flow ingress on the interface. However -- it seems that what I see when I use "ip cache flow" command doesn't have a very long history or life. What commands am I missing so that I can see a summary of the stats over say the last 5, 10 or 15 minutes? Is this the best config that can be used for this, or can I create a more summarized report just using the router HW and IOS? Basic current configuration:version 12.3service timestamps debug uptimeservice timestamps log uptimeservice password-encryption!hostname Littleboy!ip subnet-zeroip cef table event-log size 1024ip cefip cef accounting per-prefix non-recursive prefix-lengthip cef traffic-statistics load-interval 180!ip flow-cache entries 2048ip flow-cache timeout inactive 60!interface FastEthernet0/1 description Littleboy to vpn-wan ip address 10.1.0.1 255.255.255.252 ip flow ingress?

Is there a good reference in how to interpret the "show AP stats" command?
I have a new (online for 15 days) 1142 listed below. It is the first 802.11n AP I've deployed. The stat counters look bad [code] But I don't know how to put it all together to say "here are the stats, this is the problem". I see TxFrameCount, but no corresponding RxFrameCount, so it is hard to calibrate some of the errors. [code]

I've got a WRVS4400N wireless router running DHCP for a couple dozen wireless clients in a public library. We need to gather statistics on the wireless clients on a daily basis: average number of clients, max number of clients, average time used per client etc.
The router only gives a list of clients currently allocated an IP address, but there doesn't seem to be a way to gather statistics over time. Is there a program that will interface with the router to gather more detailed statistics?

I'm trying to use Cisco IP SLA to bench mark voice traffic peformance before and after I apply QoS to the network.
* I've setup IP SLA in both directions over a DSL connection between a 7600, and an 1801
* I've setup IP SLA in both directions over an Ethernet WAN link between a 7200 and another 7200
ip sla 1
udp-jitter 10.101.1.1 32770 source-ip 10.101.2.1 source-port 32770 codec g711alaw
frequency 30
!
ip sla schedule 1 life forever start-time now
!
ip sla responder
!
I have a problem in that I'm not getting any meaningful data from the IP SLA statistics for Voice Score Values:, or any data for Latency one-way time: for any of my tests(x 4).
After a day of testing it seems the MOS score never changes from 4.34, and the ICPIF never changes from 1 ?Is there something wrong with my config? Is this working properly or could this be a bug?

I've recently had Centurylink's Prism service installed and at the same time my internet connection upgraded to 10Mb. When they installed the new service, my modem was replaced with a Cisco DDR 2200-CL modem and router in one. On Monday of this week my internet speeds had dropped. I check my speeds on speedtest.net several times and it was under 1Mb each time. After an hour I called and scheduled a technician to come and check it out. He came the next day, but my speeds were back to almost 10Mb again, and he couldn't find any problems.

I'm pretty computer illiterate. So how do I know if my Compaq Presario 2200 has wifi? I've read several threads but. I don't have the computer in front of me but I believe there is no wifi button. Do I buy a PC card or a wireless networking adapter - USB? Where does the PC card go? Will I also need a driver?

MIFI 2200 works with the USB connected to the computer but, won't transmit to another computer. It is a desktop. So I put in a wireless card. It will identify that the network is there but, will not access it. Is there a difference between what a desktop wireless card will access and what a laptop or mobile device will talk with. There seems to be because the MIFI will connect to a Droid and a laptop but, not to the desktop I want it to.Is there a different card or some kind of USB thingy that I can use to make the two devices talk.
Additional:
MIFI is a verizon cellular product to connect up to 5 computers. It will work when plugged in directly but, not when it has to use the wireless card. The computer I want to connect has a wireless card and will recognize the network but, won't connect. It is a desktop, not a laptop or mobile device.Turns out that you can buy a WiFi adapter in a USB plug and play device for a newegg price of 7.99 dollars to a high price of about 150 bucks. Is there any card that I can put inside the computer so I can make this permanent?

I bought a MacBook Air thinking I would be able to surf the net wirelessly. Can't do it. It works great with HDMI cable, but I don't want a cable trailing across the room. Wish I had bought a Dell!!! So, can I dedicate my old Dell Inspiron 2200 for this function? I can upgrade the 4 MB RAM to 1 GB if that would work. The Dell uses Internet Explorer, Windows XP and a Netgear WNA3100 Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter. I have upgraded the video and BIOS on the Dell, and the drivers on the Netgear Adapter. I have a 2Wire modem/router from AT&T with 3.00 mps. My new 32" LG HDTV is 1080p with 60Hz, but it is NOT a smart HDTV. I know I won't get 1080p with the old Dell, but what could I expect to get? Roku will not give me surfing capability in a web browser.

Need Ethernet driver. Inspiron 2200 BFNQV81. Actually need all drivers however I have found some. Dell is very lacking in supporting this unit. The service tag returns a desk-top, and not many drivers. What was listed/installed was incorrect. The unit got stuck on stupid, display reverted back to 400x600, speed problems as well as many other problems. Unit is very slow now however somewhat usable. .Recovery disk would be nice. Currently utilizing external Wifi hardware and software. Have same problem w/ other Dell units.

Nearly every morning/evening I have to re-boot my router to get internet access. Netgear N300 ADSL2+ modem router Model DGN 2200 (had about a year), Windows 7 64bit Home premium Laptop connected wirelessly, Windows 7 64Bit Home Premium desktop connected by LAN cable. ISP BT Internet. Until recently this set up has been working OK with occasional loss of interent access and need to re-boot router. The internet light has been showing red on those occasions. Over the last two weeks I have found that when I turn one of computers on although all lights on router are green I have no internet access. I have to re-boot, then all is OK until the next day when I have to re-boot again. My phone line appears OK with no noise on line, no reported problems on BT broadband staus. The thing that puzzles me is that the lights are all green on the router yet my networking icon on the pc shows an exclammation mark and 'no internet access' and I do not have access to net.The wireless connection is OK with excellent strength.

I wiped out a Dell Inspiron 2200 and re-installed Windows XP Pro SP3 on it. Everything seemed to work fine until I try re-installing the Wireless Driver. The dell support website pointed me to the Intel PorSet/Wireless 11.1.0.30, which I downloaded and installed successfully, with the only problem.... It does not work. When I open the utility it pops a message saying that the "Driver is not installed", and no signals show or anything. When I go to the device manager, the OTHER DEVICES shows a "network controller" with the yellow question mark, but when I connect to the internet (via ethernet cable) to update the driver, windows can't find nothing out there to solve the issue.

We are looking to implement traffic shaping/policing primarily for P2P traffic. As natively the ASA5550 is only capable of p2p inspection if the traffic is tunneled via port 80 is the AIP-SSM the way forward? We have 2 5550s in active/active failover config. As a side note we are also looking to implement an IDS/IPS system so could this module cover all?Is this module going to provide the desired outcome or is there another module/device out there better suited for this? I would prefer to use the ASA5550s as opposed to implementing another product if only that we can make use of the investment we already made on these devices.

I am testing limit bandwith using my ASA 8.2, i am trying to limit internet access for certains users , i order to save Bandwith for the important things but i can´t get any limitation
My configuration is the following, the acces list is just for my pc in order to test, and the service policy is applied to outside interface (called internet in my case) for incoming traffic
access-list Internet_mpc_1 extended permit ip host 172.16.127.70 any class-map Internet-class-TEST match access-list Internet_mpc_1 policy-map Internet-policy-web class Internet-class-TEST police output 1024000 1500
service-policy Internet-policy-web interface Internet
With show service policy i can´t see any activity on the policy , but if i do a similar configuration for inside interface outgoing traffic i can see packets allowed and dropped

I have an ASA 5520 with the below config
Gi0/0: outside (Internet)
Gi0/1: inside (Internal users)
Gi0/2: DMZ (web servers, ftp, Mail etc..)
I have a SMTP relay deployed on the DMZ for mailing. I have also a mail servers installed in the internal lan,
I want to allow trafic from dmz to reach internal lan, and i want normally also allow stmp relay from dmz to reach Internet.
How can i block trafic from DMZ to reach Internal Lan (instead of smtp) if the to allow trafic from dmz to internet i must put ANY in the policy?
For allowing trafic from DMZ to reach Internet, the policy must be DMZ -----> ANY ----->Services., this policy means DMZ can implicity reach Internal Lan?

We have a Cisco 2811 running ITP IOS. On that router we run the SMPP service. A client on the network connects to this service, and we need to capture the traffic for debug.
I've tried traffic-export, but I cannot see any outbound traffic.I'm guessing that this is due to the fact that the outbound SMPP traffic is not transit traffic as it is generated by the router itself.
Is there any way to capture the outbound traffic?

I am trying to come up with the best way to traffic shape traffic with 3750 Me switches. the traffic will be coming from a 6504 Sup-7203b downstream and going out the wan. Core---L3---->6504--intvlan80--trunkport to--->3750Me---g/1/1/1-trunkport to---MetroE network--->int f0/0.80--branch router. The idea is to use the 3750 to traffic shape the traffic going towards the wan/branch to 500 to match the contracted rate and then to use qos on shaped rate. I tried to apply it to g1/1/1 using port based policies but it did not shape the traffic. I changed everything to IP interfaces and it worked. I need to break up the metroe into different vlans so I can bring branch offices in on different vlans.c
