If theres a way, one of you guys could find it. I bought one of these and managed to bridge the wireless and lan connections so I can use my xbox360 on it but it says my experience will be limited due to strict NAT. I tried virgin mobile customer service and they were useless.
I would like to add a second mifi 2200 to my current contract. (Same phone # & same bill.) That way I can use the second one while I'm on the road & my wife can use the first one at home!
MIFI 2200 works with the USB connected to the computer but, won't transmit to another computer. It is a desktop. So I put in a wireless card. It will identify that the network is there but, will not access it. Is there a difference between what a desktop wireless card will access and what a laptop or mobile device will talk with. There seems to be because the MIFI will connect to a Droid and a laptop but, not to the desktop I want it to.Is there a different card or some kind of USB thingy that I can use to make the two devices talk.
Additional:
MIFI is a verizon cellular product to connect up to 5 computers. It will work when plugged in directly but, not when it has to use the wireless card. The computer I want to connect has a wireless card and will recognize the network but, won't connect. It is a desktop, not a laptop or mobile device.Turns out that you can buy a WiFi adapter in a USB plug and play device for a newegg price of 7.99 dollars to a high price of about 150 bucks. Is there any card that I can put inside the computer so I can make this permanent?
I have the WPC54G , used on Sony Vaio, Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 and use a Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Mobile Hotspot. Recently had system crash--reinstalled through recovery discs and all current Windows Update (SP3), as well as the WPC54G The WPC54G worked with various WiFi Networks and the MiFi2200 Device before crash. After "recovery", it recognize WiFi Networks, however; it does not recognize my network established through the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Device. (Note: the MiFi Device is working because other computer/devices are gaining access to internet.
I used to play online games with GameSpy. Suddenly, GameSpy Arcade just won't connect anymore, and i also noticed that almost everything related to GameSpy is blocked in my entire network. The only GameSpy site i can connect is gamespy.com, but GameSpy forums and gamespyarcade.com are blocked. I haven't changed any network settings, and i've tried to connect without firewall and without avast antivirus, but it just won't work. The only way i can get to those sites is through a proxy, i think that means that THEY are blocking me, and not my own network, right?
I believe we accidentally changed the NAT on our wireless g MIMO F5D9230-4 router. Now only one laptop is actually connecting to the Internet, but it looks like our network isn't secure anymore. Our 2nd laptop is connected wirelessly to the router, but not the Internet. Our iPhones and iPad are not connecting at all.
Recently, I bought the E3200, and tried to configure its ports for gaming. Yet, whenever I would hit save settings, it would say my settings were saved, then return me to the settings page. But the settings would be blank. I tried downloading firmware from the website (which should say September 28), yet it still says I am running the firmware from September 1st, even after I applied the upgrade and followed through with the 50 second reboot process.
So, I guess my final question for any tech savvy person out there is "What is wrong with my router/firmware?" I am running the browser config in the most recent Firefox on the same MacBook I used to install the router, and haven't changed any settings other than the SSID and password.
I have a Netgear DGN2200 and a BT Home Hub V1 and wish to use my Netgear as the WBS and the Home Hub as a repeater. I have set both up, and the Home Hub finds the Netgear and recognises it as a WBS (I think) but cannot get internet through my Homehub at all.
I have spent two days on the phone with virgin mobile broadband where I bought the device and they do not know what I am talking about.First of all the mifi is working fine on the one and only computer I have set up so for..it is Vista operating system..I am trying to set up my vista computer as an FTP server on the mifi or wifi or whatever you call it.when I disable the DHCP service on this virgin mobile mifi device so that I can generate my own internal ip for this particular computer..It is not functioning that is I cannot connect to the internet..I tried to get from Virginmobile the DNS server address but they were confused...When I log into the device itself under advanced options it does allow for me to disable DHCP..but my problem is what IP do I use when setting up the wireless connections, I disengaged the automatic, but I am having a heck of a time trying to use the right IP then the gateway address and the DNS.
I need to figure out how to connect my home router to my AT&T MiFi. I have 3 DVD players and one computer hard wired to the router. The MiFi works great with my laptop and IPad that has wireless capability but how can I get it to connect to non-wireless devices connect to my router?
I'm pretty computer illiterate. So how do I know if my Compaq Presario 2200 has wifi? I've read several threads but. I don't have the computer in front of me but I believe there is no wifi button. Do I buy a PC card or a wireless networking adapter - USB? Where does the PC card go? Will I also need a driver?
I've recently had Centurylink's Prism service installed and at the same time my internet connection upgraded to 10Mb. When they installed the new service, my modem was replaced with a Cisco DDR 2200-CL modem and router in one. On Monday of this week my internet speeds had dropped. I check my speeds on speedtest.net several times and it was under 1Mb each time. After an hour I called and scheduled a technician to come and check it out. He came the next day, but my speeds were back to almost 10Mb again, and he couldn't find any problems.
I've got as Cisco AS5400 Ver 12.3(22) with the E1 controllers acting as ISUP TG (pri-groups). Since we have no streaming for call records to RADIUS serving etc. is there a way to setup a log or history buffer for alerts for traffic congestion? With high call rates the "normal" realtime methods of using >sh call active voice breif | i No Circuit Avail wouldn't be pratical since memory/processor usage could be an issue. The >debug isdn q931 interf dch 1/0 would of worked but again so much traffic is coming I don't want to increase the size of the logg buff >300K.I guess I was expecting an easy way out being an old TDM salt used to the 5E/Telica Plexview/DMS having CDR and Traffic Stat info readily available. I know the AS5400 is a powerful device, maybe I just haven't got the right command down or totally overlooked the obvious.Oh, and this is connected to the Cisco PGW/SGC 2200 Version:"9.3(2) and I haven't found anything in it's logs. I bought a MacBook Air thinking I would be able to surf the net wirelessly. Can't do it. It works great with HDMI cable, but I don't want a cable trailing across the room. Wish I had bought a Dell!!! So, can I dedicate my old Dell Inspiron 2200 for this function? I can upgrade the 4 MB RAM to 1 GB if that would work. The Dell uses Internet Explorer, Windows XP and a Netgear WNA3100 Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter. I have upgraded the video and BIOS on the Dell, and the drivers on the Netgear Adapter. I have a 2Wire modem/router from AT&T with 3.00 mps. My new 32" LG HDTV is 1080p with 60Hz, but it is NOT a smart HDTV. I know I won't get 1080p with the old Dell, but what could I expect to get? Roku will not give me surfing capability in a web browser.
Just bought a verizon 4g mifi. The laptop hooked up in a second to the device but i cant get my desktop computer to detect the connection.I tried using a USB Linksys wireless adapter then tried a netgear g-router but neither detect anything.
My Verizon MiFi can't recognize my Toshiba laptop. The laptop recognizes the Verizon MiFi, but won't accept the password. Toshiba wants $159 to fix this.
I've got the Verizon Jetpack MiFi and cannot figure out how to create a bridge with a D-Link DAP-1513 to get internet. Eventually this setup will be connected to a DVR but for now I'm trying to use it on my laptop to make sure it's going to work. I don't have networking experience and have been trying to figure this out for almost 2 weeks now.
Need Ethernet driver. Inspiron 2200 BFNQV81. Actually need all drivers however I have found some. Dell is very lacking in supporting this unit. The service tag returns a desk-top, and not many drivers. What was listed/installed was incorrect. The unit got stuck on stupid, display reverted back to 400x600, speed problems as well as many other problems. Unit is very slow now however somewhat usable. .Recovery disk would be nice. Currently utilizing external Wifi hardware and software. Have same problem w/ other Dell units.
I am trying to use a MIFI hotspot for the internet, I have a wifi laptop, and a wifi printer.I would like to print wirelessly from my laptop and use the internet at the same time, but I can't. To print I have to go to my wireless network and switch to my router. And if I want to use the internet I have switch my wireless network back to the MIFI hotspot.
I have a Verizon MiFi card and 3 wireless laptops that pick it up automatically.....I can't seem to get it set up on the desktop pc.....it doesn't recognize it
Background information, have had the 4150L for probably about a year and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I just updated the firmware this morning and it still seems to be working great. This is the first upgrade I have ever done to it. Anyway, what I am trying to accomplish, I have discovered that I can remotely connect to my office computer through my iPad using itap RDP and a VPN connection. I have already been able to use itap RDP in the office to show patients their x-rays etc... on the iPad. I have a cisco RVO82 router and my office software suggests the use of a PPTP VPN to connect remotely. I have checked all the settings and I have everything set as described. The iPad shows a VPN connection icon but when I try to connect to my computer, I get a TCP error. From what I have read, some people are able to connect via VPN on the 4150L and others are not.
I have a dell inspiron 2200 (old, I know!) It had wireless when I was given it, but the computor programme was updated to Ubuntu, then back to windows, and now the icon has dissapeared. I don't have the manual, and I have no clue about how to get it back...b
I switched to Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200 BG by mistake and now I can't get connected through my wireless! I did not mean to do this, but I have not been able to switch back to Windows to control my wireless.
I have recently moved to a remote area and am using a verizon Jetpack 4620L as an internet connection.I would like to continue using my Airport Extreme in bridge mode to extend my network and to also use my wireless printer and scanner easily.
Nearly every morning/evening I have to re-boot my router to get internet access. Netgear N300 ADSL2+ modem router Model DGN 2200 (had about a year), Windows 7 64bit Home premium Laptop connected wirelessly, Windows 7 64Bit Home Premium desktop connected by LAN cable. ISP BT Internet. Until recently this set up has been working OK with occasional loss of interent access and need to re-boot router. The internet light has been showing red on those occasions. Over the last two weeks I have found that when I turn one of computers on although all lights on router are green I have no internet access. I have to re-boot, then all is OK until the next day when I have to re-boot again. My phone line appears OK with no noise on line, no reported problems on BT broadband staus. The thing that puzzles me is that the lights are all green on the router yet my networking icon on the pc shows an exclammation mark and 'no internet access' and I do not have access to net.The wireless connection is OK with excellent strength.
I wiped out a Dell Inspiron 2200 and re-installed Windows XP Pro SP3 on it. Everything seemed to work fine until I try re-installing the Wireless Driver. The dell support website pointed me to the Intel PorSet/Wireless 11.1.0.30, which I downloaded and installed successfully, with the only problem.... It does not work. When I open the utility it pops a message saying that the "Driver is not installed", and no signals show or anything. When I go to the device manager, the OTHER DEVICES shows a "network controller" with the yellow question mark, but when I connect to the internet (via ethernet cable) to update the driver, windows can't find nothing out there to solve the issue.
Tonight I went to lay down in bed and decided to start up the Wii for some Netflix. About 30 minutes into watching my program, my connection suddenly cut out. I got up and checked my modem, and sure enough the "online" light was blinking.
I did the usual power cycle thing with no luck. The whole time I am thinking to myself "I swear I just paid that thing a week ago!". After power cycling 3 times, I decided to check the router settings by going to my router manager page (192.168.1.1).
I look through my basic settings when I noticed my DNS address was no longer set to "Get automatically for ISP". Well, that's not right. It now had a new primary and secondary DNS listed. I couldn't remember if either of those addresses were always there. I switched it back and like magic my modem connected again.
Should I be concerned by this? I remembered the big "DNSChanger" thing going around a while ago, so I checked the two numbers against the FBI database and both numbers came up clean.
I ran into a bit of an issue today while testing a vpn software on a virtual machine(win7); I successfully connected to vpn, then the connection dropped and since with the vpn connection another ip address was assigned, now I'm unable to communicate with that VM. I am able to find it in SCCM via hostname, but can't reboot it or start anything on it.
