Just bought a verizon 4g mifi.The laptop hooked up in a second to the device but i cant get my desktop computer to detect the connection.I tried using a USB Linksys wireless adapter then tried a netgear g-router but neither detect anything.

To print I have to go to my wireless network and switch to my router. And if I want to use the internet I have switch my wireless network back to the MIFI hotspot.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMIFI 2200 works with the USB connected to the computer but, won't transmit to another computer.It is a desktop. So I put in a wireless card. It will identify that the network is there but, will not access it. Is there a difference between what a desktop wireless card will access and what a laptop or mobile device will talk with.There seems to be because the MIFI will connect to a Droid and a laptop but, not to the desktop I want it to.Is there a different card or some kind of USB thingy that I can use to make the two devices talk.

MIFI is a verizon cellular product to connect up to 5 computers.It will work when plugged in directly but, not when it has to use the wireless card.The computer I want to connect has a wireless card and will recognize the network but, won't connect. It is a desktop, not a laptop or mobile device.Turns out that you can buy a WiFi adapter in a USB plug and play device for a newegg price of 7.99 dollars to a high price of about 150 bucks.Is there any card that I can put inside the computer so I can make this permanent?
I've got the Verizon Jetpack MiFi and cannot figure out how to create a bridge with a D-Link DAP-1513 to get internet. Eventually this setup will be connected to a DVR but for now I'm trying to use it on my laptop to make sure it's going to work. I don't have networking experience and have been trying to figure this out for almost 2 weeks now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent two days on the phone with virgin mobile broadband where I bought the device and they do not know what I am talking about.First of all the mifi is working fine on the one and only computer I have set up so for..it is Vista operating system..I am trying to set up my vista computer as an FTP server on the mifi or wifi or whatever you call it.when I disable the DHCP service on this virgin mobile mifi device so that I can generate my own internal ip for this particular computer..It is not functioning that is I cannot connect to the internet..I tried to get from Virginmobile the DNS server address but they were confused...When I log into the device itself under advanced options it does allow for me to disable DHCP..but my problem is what IP do I use when setting up the wireless connections, I disengaged the automatic, but I am having a heck of a time trying to use the right IP then the gateway address and the DNS.

xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.
Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.
I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.
Sometimes I cannot connect to the router after my computer has been to sleep. This has occurred on different routers. I can still see the network, but am told I cannot connect when attempting to connect to it. Restarting/shut down does not solve the problem - I have to restart the router itself, and then my computer will reconnect automatically. Other computers/devices will be unaffected by this and maintain a connection the entire time. Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Network Adapter using Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

Recently had system crash--reinstalled through recovery discs and all current Windows Update (SP3), as well as the WPC54G The WPC54G worked with various WiFi Networks and the MiFi2200 Device before crash. After "recovery", it recognize WiFi Networks, however; it does not recognize my network established through the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Device. View 2 Replies View RelatedOne day I got a blue screen saying there was a hardware or driver failure with the network adapter on the motherboard. I couldn't resolve the problem so I went out and got a new network adaptor. Pluged it in, windows found drivers for it. But I was getting a Unidentified network problem.I have a Linksys E1000 router, internet works on my laptop and xbox360 fine wired and wireless. So I changed ports on the router, changed cables, even changed routers. Still the PC wasn't seeing the router. So I download the latest drivers for the Realtek network adapter, install them, still nothing. So I thought maybe the router is to blame, downloaded the latest firmware and flashed it onto the router, reset it. Still the same. At this point I was sure the new network card was faulty. So I took the computer to the shop where i bought the card. He disabled the old network adapter in the bios. And he had the Internet up and running in the shop. I was happy and took it home... Still the same problem! Rang ISP done a lot of disabling, enabling, static IP no fix... except he told me to bypass the router and try plugging the PC directly to the modem, and that connects fine. I can get internet from the modem, but not through the router, yet everything else works fine though the router. As I said cables and ports in the router have all been changed and checked. When I do the network diagnostics in windows 7 is says, does not have a valid IP configuration.

The network card driver is a 1394 Net Adapter. The driver appears to be working correctly, but it's not getting packets in or out. I've re-installed wireless adaptor (BY Voyager 1055), but router will not issue an IP via DHCP to my PC. Can connect to same router using a laptop (picks up IP using DHCP). Have tried using static IP, connects, then loses connection after a few seconds.Both bits of kit are XP SP2, could it be a driver issue? It says that it connects to the wireless networks I set up for it, but when I open web browsers, it doesn't really connect to the internet. I know the icon in the system tray for it is a computer monitor. The screen of the little monitor should blink if it works, and mine does not blink. I tried putting in 2 new adapters, but those failed to work.
3 years ago I had this same problem. I called my internet provider and someone was able to control my laptop from his computer. He opened some sort of settings screen that I had never seen before. I didn't even see how he got to it because he did it all so fast. After he changed a setting, my laptop was able to connect to the wireless internet. Since then, my internet provider has begun charging for this service so I've opted out of doing it again. I wonder if the man was using settings on the router website. If he was, what settings did he change that allowed my computer to connect?
Background information, have had the 4150L for probably about a year and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I just updated the firmware this morning and it still seems to be working great. This is the first upgrade I have ever done to it. Anyway, what I am trying to accomplish, I have discovered that I can remotely connect to my office computer through my iPad using itap RDP and a VPN connection. I have already been able to use itap RDP in the office to show patients their x-rays etc... on the iPad. I have a cisco RVO82 router and my office software suggests the use of a PPTP VPN to connect remotely. I have checked all the settings and I have everything set as described. The iPad shows a VPN connection icon but when I try to connect to my computer, I get a TCP error. From what I have read, some people are able to connect via VPN on the 4150L and others are not.
